Team Slowbro AER Summit Point 2024 Highlight

We enter AER at Summit Point 8 hrs with 1999 Civic "YoloCivic" with 5 drivers. We started at Class 1 for qualifying and got bumped to Class 2 for Race 1 and 2.
Qualifying went well, car held up well with 2 new drivers to the car.
Race 1 we had a great start, starting at P17 and worked ourselves into p2 at one point, we were forecasting a p3 but then we suffered a subframe tab failure. The tab is what holds the control arm in place, it fails and causes us to have a bend suspension and broken LCA. With help from Chris, big baller race team, Van, and John from AER and AutoZone, we were able to put duralast "OEM like" suspension in the rear (shocks and spring + LCA). We were able to finish the repair for race 2.
Race 2, with the unknown setup, we had to take the car at a slower pace. Surprisingly, the car was very well set up. The car ran for 1 hr and 45 and we suffered a leak. This leak, we suspect, is coming from the oil cooler sandwich plate/ rear main seal causing us to lose oil and blow up the motor. The leak was minimal and very hard to spot. We are looking to investigate the cause when we have the engine removed.
Tough weekend for the team but is part of racing. We will solve the issue and be back better than ever.

Had the same thing with oil cooler adaptor coming loose on my cars also, so after 1 minor surprise on track, I checked and retorqued the bolt that's holding it in place during every oil change.
