I take every 5.7 Panther and 5.7 T-34-85 against each other in an all out 30x vs 30x battle to see which WW2 Medium Tanks wins comparatively in War Thunder.

Panthers are some amazing tanks, its just that sometimes the players using them arent the brightest
Some of those players aren't the brightest tools in the shed.
I’ve won way to many close-in engagements with Panthers in a 76 Sherman
German team, like USA team used to be "so most tankiest", and run straight. But if you flank these, it's just a peace of cake.
The players who drive the panthers are about as reliable as teammates as the tank’s transmission was in real life.

One thing i will say as a T-34-85 player many people do not realize and i noticed in the match. Almost none of the T-34-85 players were using their proper round being the BR-365A round. While the BR-365K round does have 148mm of pen it has less explosive mass aswell as it doesnt have a balistic capping to its shell making the 365A round a much better round for dealing with angled armor such as a close range shot on a jumbo front plate and even the panther front plate at sub 100M where it wants to fight. Aswell the 365A round allows t-34 players to pen at such extreme angles on tank such as the panther its roughly an additional 10 degrees of panatration angle VS that of the 365K round.
While yes i still say the panther is a much better tank then almost any other medium tank in the BR rating it really only suffers from the playerbase that plays it.

As a T-34-85 player, watching the aim of the people playing the T-34s physically pained me.
Same for me as a Panther player, it‘s just a bad idea to take them into the cities like that. They are excellent at long ranges

now I wanna see the T-34 against the Panzer 4, which would be a much more realistic battle i personally think, especially for early war.

I’d like to see a match with 5.7 Panthers vs the 6.3 M26. In the 3k hours I have in this game I’ve always thought that the panthers were unmatched for the br.
I agree, the Panther needs to be faced against other late war tanks like the T-44 (tho late war, as in experimental service for the last 3 days of the war)

I rarely have issues fighting panthers. They have good hull armour at the expense of mobility and terrible side armour (Not to mean straight line speed). m26 is far superior to any panther and so is 76 jumbo and t44 too

i dont really understand why the t34-85 is 5.0 and 5.7 when i cant really tell much a difference between the two tanks. at 5.0 its a beast at 5.7 its alright.
I wish it was 5.0, they moved the D5T to 5.3 :(
its 5.3 now and its not a beast by any means if youre facing people that know how to play germany they have every advantage except for speedn

You should put the IS-2 against the Panther, we are all forgetting the T-34-85 is a 30 ton tank while the Panther is a 40 ton tank

@@RatUtid it really comes down to how skilled the KingTiger players are in my opinion because if they shoot center mass of the Is3 there’s a good chance it will pen. That’s how I frontally kill them in my Panther and KingTiger.

I despise the T-34-85. You're stuck with a gun that can barely penetrate any heavy tank at 5.7, and sadly that's 90% of what you'll be facing. Also the lack of gun depression is a huge problem in some maps.
To be more realistic it should be 10 Panthers vs 30 T34s

It would have been a better idea to move to C point cause it’s all just open ground and you have a good view of the left and right those are the only ways the enemy tanks can get to you and your team in the town panthers can get flanked and the thin side armor isn’t really good in urban environments
I kinda expected the Panther to win, but it was curious to see that there are some areas the T-34-85 could outperform it, but only marginally. Clearly if the panthers can get a solid hold and good sight lines, it’s over for the Russian tanks. The range game goes to Germany. In urban combat I was expecting more from the Russians given their maneuverability and slightly faster turret traversal, but at that range both tanks are more evenly matched since the rounds can pen most parts of the tanks that close (short of good angling)
American M6 heavy tank versus Tiger 1 heavy tank?
If volumetric wasn't such hell that pennable spots on the cheek wouldn't be such a coin toss. Fighting the panther at this BR is horrid unless you're in a city map.

Good one!!! Just to show haw tough the Panther is you should do Panther vs M26/T25. Just skip the 6.0 US tanks because we know how that would turn out. And maybe 4.3 KV1 Zis5 vs 4.7 T14 (because T14 vs KV85 would be silly).
You can really pick a winner here because it depents on skills of the player and playstyle.

Btf, the Panther is more or less a better tank, decent mobility and very good frontal Armour for what it is (better then a tiger 1) with decent gun and trolly mantles. T34-85 lacks the Armour (not too sure on firepower but I can assume it's better) and fixed sight

T 34s are a legend for how many the ussr shit out, not for it being a good tank...
just bear in mind that in reality it was 60 t34-85's vs 30 panthers and half of the panthers caught on fire or broke down before the battle started lol

Well depend on the battle field, long range, panthers winning all day, some hills and trees, not as much range, it will probably be even on wins, but in towns like shown in the intro, t34s all days win all day.

It was fun participating but it was kinda sad how the t34 lost both rounds by a good bit
I also have one thing to say while I do like seeing other players recordings I really liked watching the replay and hearing you commentate because it allows players who are unable to record to be seen, because in the second round I was holding off the panthers for like 5 minutes behind the statue.

If you would turned the hull towards the t34 you wouldnt have been killed , the panther has better frontal amour and the t34 has a better gun so its a toss up

Just because it can kill tigers doesn't mean it has a better gun than the panther.
The panther's gun is absolutely disgustingly powerful in warthunder.
The sherman 76 can also kill tigers easily. Doesn't mean that it's gun is better than the panther's.
It's not a toss up, in any sense of the word.
The T34 has ONE advantage in this fight, and that's mobility.
Compared to the panther:
it is less stable. (panther can shoot on the move reasonably well)
worse armour
Worse gun
No smoke launchers
Worse gun depression
Worse turret traverse (A variant)
identical reload rate.

I have an idea to suggest
Germany 1946, which includes panthers II & 10.5 tiger II & flakpanzer 341 & maus & E-100 & tiger sla 16 & Do 335 B-2 & ho 229 & me 163 & me 262 C-2B & Ar 234 C-3 & panther F.

Late war tanks. That wouldn't be very fair for the Germans the Soviets would have the IS3 and the US the tutel. Maus and E100 could definitely hold their own.
Also the British would have some good tanks like the centurion.
If we're counting jets as well the US would have P-80 shooting star. You know what this actually seems like a good idea.

The pathers are a much better tank overall in the game. However, the T-34 is better on the battlefield in reality because of numbers and parts availability.
