    Your honesty with your frustration and your areas for improvement is extremely encouraging. Knowing that a good player, such as you, feel and express those emotions makes the whole thing so much more relatable. I like the comment towards the end: the goal isn’t perfection but progress. This is so helpful. Thank you, Ewan!

    This video is really appreciated as we -padel lovers and wanting to level up- can relate :) (as opposed to pure pros giving advice).
    I can totally see myself in your "day 1" part. and now I know what, and how to increase my kicksmash.
    if you can do almost the same with some other key padel shots, that would be awesome, so we can perfect our skills in the main key shots.
    Huge Thanks and keep up the effort.

    Your problem is that your racket face is open from the beginning. When loading you need to close it and start pronating when the elbow goes up. So with a open racket face it’s much harder to brush up the ball. That’s why the GB coach is kicking the balls out so easy.

    Man, well done. Congrats and great video. I have been on this journey for over a year and while I probably started getting the ball out on the first week, it has taken a full year to get to where I can do it consistently and get 9 out of 10 balls out when doing practice. My form has changed so much during this time for the better. Watching a lot of tennis serve videos on the kick serve has really helped me. It is such a fun process, it has taken me a long time but I am still getting better and getting even more excited as I find new ways to get effortless power and spin using techniques from tennis coaches talking about the kick serve

    I'd imagine that it's like the kick serve in tennis, which is not at all about flat power, but entirely about racket head speed in the right direction: Low to high, brushing upwards against the ball. I would advise bending the knees more during preparation when there's time, to create some extra oomph when you come up for the smash.

    My wrist and elbow are hurting just from watching!! Great Video! Keep it up! My one problem is that I try to hit the ball so high that I almost brush my arm to my ear, that makes my shoulder hurt alot! Keep it up!

    Great job dude! It is so hard if your not coming from tennis to work up the kicksmash to the same level as the rest of the game.
    I have a very hard good bandeja and bajada since I've played handball and it's much like a throwing motion forward but I stuggle to get the spin and power hitting up on the ball.

Bad times man :)

    0:28 watch how the face of your racket is pointing to the sky when it should be pointing to the ground. Go and watch Galán and stop the video in the same time as you and you’ll see the difference. That’s why you can’t put top spin in the ball

    Nice progress! I'm from Panamá and I'm having difficulties with my kick smash too. I now have 3 year playing and it is still too difficult for me. I wonder if my height have something to do with it 🥲 (5"2 or 160cm)

    • @EverythingPadel

    • @EverythingPadel
      @EverythingPadel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what I found, from right at the back you just need the most topspin possible, which isn’t as hard to get when you keep feeding balls to yourself all day. Whereas midway up court, and with someone else feeding you, you need to have a lot of technique
