      @jpearson311 Thank you. All a personal preference for sure. We do like the stock hood look. This truck in particular at beginning of build, planned to drive the ole big block around in the Arizona summer heat, and possibly tow, so wanted to make sure there was a chance to let that extra heat out and get some fresh air in the engine bay! Thanks for checking it out. More to come!

    Why was a NP205 transfer case not used?

    • @resurrekting
      @resurrekting  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @metalbill this truck actually came to us with an NP203(boat anchor) and we opted since having a 4L80E to go behind the big block, why not mate it with a pairable transfer case that we had in stock. So we went with the np208, very great setup for this show level of truck. If this baby was a wheeler we would have opted to find a np205 for it for sure! Definitely 205 the strongest t case from factory in our opinion. Thanks for asking, take care ✌🏼

      @resurrekting  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @marcusaurelius5576 it’s the perfect white for all these 2 tones on these 60s, 70s and 80s trucks. It’s GM 2185 code Linen White!

    Schwing and a miss as far as a factory fresh truck but still nice anyway. Needs lacquer paint and a flat hood plus all the factory intake stuff and less detailing on the underside.

    • @resurrekting
      @resurrekting  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @danfarris135 Thanks for noticing all the time we put into this truck. We do love ourselves a factory spec level build, but after decades of building these trucks back to factory fresh, we are doing some different level stuff to push the envelope on truck restoration. Stay tuned on the channel, we will be showing plenty of factory build and info as well! Thanks for watching!

  • @billbright1755
    @billbright1755 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I bought a Scottsdale K 20 brand new in frost white 1978 .
    Beautiful truck but the quality control was pretty lacking then.
    Fremont California plant. Front window leaked as a sieve many runs in paint dash ends had rough edges came with out rear cab mounts lower bolts and rubber.
    They had a lot of bare steel sandwiched in hood, fenders, cab lowers etc.
    Should have been primer dipped in a zinc treatment. Water would migrate in and not dry.
    Rust through in very short order.
    They were selling like hot cakes so it was more profitable to cut corners.

    • @resurrekting
      @resurrekting  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @billbright1755 yes we’ve seen in person and always kind of chuckle when someone checks out a truck restored to this level and thinks it’s how it came from factory, which is totally untrue. We look at it as the gm factory was making these trucks as more of a tool, that they wanted them to perform work tasks, instead of worrying about the cosmetic beauty points of them back then. But it definitely could have been nice if they would have budgeted more money into completely coating the bodies in every square inch which is still hard to accomplish. But more of them would have been saveable at this day in age. Do you know what ever happened with your 78, is it still around?

      @jimthomas1989 the 78 4x4 never came factory with a big block, that ad at the beginning is the original 78 commercial. Versus the other clips in the video are the custom truck we built to look fairly factory under the hood with the 454. Regardless either motor is great 👍🏼

    • @resurrekting
      @resurrekting  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @toddbob55 the cool thing about building vehicles is being able to build it per one’s own preferences. The new owner of this truck loves this interior. But what we’ve always told people looking at our trucks, if they like the quality and paint color. The interior, the motor and the wheels are all fairly easily pieces of the build to swap out for one’s own favorites, so buy a quality restoration and swap those out if needed. Thanks for watching!
