      Very good call. Depends on whether "founder of sociology" is taken to mean "earliest" or something similar (Khaldun is much earlier), or "of foundational importance in getting the modern working discipline of sociology going". - Cheers, Jack

    Sorry professor. But you have given the worst possible definition of philosophy ever.
    I would never expect a philosophy professor to use the phrase "that don't yet have CLEAR CUT answers". It raises another important philosophical question, WHAT IS A CLEAR CUT ANSWER? Then it would raise the question, "WHAT KNOWLEDGE IS TRUE AND VALID ?, the it will keep circling into different areas of philosophy. It is basically a circular definition.
    Philosophy was/is and will be the act of debating and deciding the axioms/presuppositions of any field of enquiry.

      Yea . That is why they said “does not have CLEAR CUT ANSWERS” as what you are saying are philosophical questions which also “DO NOT HAVE CLEAR CUT ANSWER” . So it all boils down to what professor thinks of philosphy to be .
