Wow, I have nothing but respect for machinists. I had a small business laminating map books and I had a precious piece of the lamination machine that broke. (It's not like you can go around the corner and pick one up either). So the machinist in my little industrial section came over and looked at it and he said "I'll be right back". I was thinking maybe he could weld it together. When he came back in 20 minutes he had a completely new part and I cried I was so in joy and thanked him so much.
Very nice! Striking video with the black background and very good titles. All aluminum construction makes it as light as possible, and makes it easy to get a good finish. Most people (in the US) wouldn't go to the trouble of sanding and polishing. Looks very professional, which may be why some commenters think it's commercially made.
Absolutely one of the finest video’s and pieces of artwork I’ve seen on a DIY project! Everyone wish’s for the “blueprints” but they must appreciate the “trial and error” in design for themselves.
Great work on (1) the stabilizer and (2) the video of making the stabilizer. Really well done video (clear cut and easy to follow flow, music, editing, shot selection, etc, etc). You have set a high standard indeed.
FinnGlinkMovies don't think its a 3d model, I think he mounted something black and hang the stabiliser from something and rotated by hand as you don't see the actual top which could hide what is holding it.
Love it the music during assembly... I've heard it before and it got stuck in my head. I can't find it.. what is that song and where did you get it, please?
Parabéns! Muito inspiradora a sua idéia. Até me motivou a fazer o meu próprio Steadycam. Irei agora pesquisar as ferramentas para realizar este projeto. Sucesso a você!
There are two kinds of DIY. First way, do fast, cheap, and it probably will not look so good but be totally functional. Second one, do as in the video, take the time to hunt down a good mix of components. You can buy inexpensive tools to do everything shown. He showed sawing the metal plate by hand. You can google around and find all those parts, you don't need a parts list, a kit, or even having him make you one. In one week you could have one of these.
beautiful work... indeed a pro work! love the video! i got a question... the ball joint you use is new or user? cause when they are new its not that easy to move them... thank you in advance!
Thats as steady as any steady cam can make a shot, especially without a glide arm. the fact that he made it himself is really the biggest deal of the video, not how steady it is.
Impressive video and product. I love the attention to every detail. Maybe too sofisticated for an average person like me. I wonder how much can have the parts CNCed cost. Great editing too!
I made an imitation of the first model and found the gimbal is not working freely. I used the same type of the gimbal that you used in all your model, but it seems working in your test shoot. I confused if I should continue with this gimbal assembly or change to u-joint. What do you think? I am using Canon 7D camera.
it would be possible you spend in video description the list of materials to build the same? I say the plastics materials or Rotora ball Already, many thanks for your great video
everyone is asking for blueprints. anyone get a copy yet..? Anyway, great job, Akira. Anyone wanna share what kind the red gimbal is? The one with the rubber boot..? Thanks.

Without a doubt only JAPANESE can get to this perfection . Kudos ! Wonderful video. Thanks.
your equipment for making the entire steadicam is more expensive than buying a branded steadicam itself. lol.
great job!
Extremely beautifully engineered piece of equipment. This would look great also on a pedestal in the living room
The video making technique leaves me breathless. It's that good and sharp.
i'll buy all the tools first! i really love the Japanese people because they are on time and also makes work in a perfect way, clean way!
cleanest diy project i ever seen . great job
I love the street walk...what a bunch of characters.
What great production value. The stabilizer and the video!
Really nice and clean video. Clear, good editing and sounds. Loved it.
Great effort all round, very professional looking video and steadicam. ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with the sound effects.
Beautiful workmanship, and a very nice design.
How did you film the 360 rotation shot?
FinnGlinkMovies don't think its a 3d model, I think he mounted something black and hang the stabiliser from something and rotated by hand as you don't see the actual top which could hide what is holding it.
Love it
the music during assembly... I've heard it before and it got stuck in my head.
I can't find it.. what is that song and where did you get it, please?
Nice job Mr. 岩本
that is some serious DIY work bro and that is how it should be.
Great job, are plans coming soon?
This is an awesome project. Thanks for sharing.
How can I obtain a copy of your plans to make on for myself?
Wonderfull work, do you have the blueprints accessible somewhere?
Parabéns!
Muito inspiradora a sua idéia. Até me motivou a fazer o meu próprio Steadycam. Irei agora pesquisar as ferramentas para realizar este projeto.
Sucesso a você!
this is a work of art in my opinion! great workmanship, I commend you.

Perfect design! Congrats on that! Would it be possible to buy the blueprints?
you are very skilled craftsman, thanks for sharing!!!
love the way you work, very organised
Excellent video!!! Awesome, could you also add a shock absorber under the camera itself? I think I will have to try this build out!!! Thanks
can you post a parts list with their dimensions please?
or an instruction manual of some sort?
Nice product and great video editing
Thanks for the video! Where did you get the background music from?
Great to watch you craft this, nice results aswell
Beautiful piece of work.
beautiful work... indeed a pro work! love the video!

cause when they are new its not that easy to move them...
thank you in advance!
That's awesome n impressive work!! How can I get one? Do U even sell the same goods?
Excellent work, are you selling the blueprints?
you're right, and the shape may need to change to go forward more. That might make it more stable, but it's pretty!
very good work. what metal is that? may i learn?
Thats as steady as any steady cam can make a shot, especially without a glide arm. the fact that he made it himself is really the biggest deal of the video, not how steady it is.
Excellent video! Good work!
Beautiful work, beautiful tool!

really clever, sharp and inspiring. well done!
this is professional diy! i like booth version. i wish i can build one too, but it's hard to find that parts in my country *sigh*
I bet it would be even more stable if you got a nice universal joint for the gimbal
Would love to get the blueprint aswell, maybe it is not an easy DIY but it is doable nontheless.

Nice thing, how can I get the blueprints?
There is a SLIGHT sway from side to side which would drive you crazy after all this work!!
VERY NICE! the test is disappointing considering how much effort you put into it.
It's like watching those in the factory process
Beautiful design and the best model possible witness to give me a map so that I could all sizes to model
everyone is asking for blueprints. anyone get a copy yet..?
