I work at a Walmart overnight stock. I’ve been stocking PS5 and Series X every week. In one week we had sold 6 PS5’s and only 1 Xbox SX. Since they won’t advertise it my advice is arrive early 6am. If none are in case, ask if there’s more in the back. They come 2 per box and we’re only allowed to stock 2 at a time. Hope this helps.
I work ON at Walmart also, we were getting a dozen of the horizon disc version bundles a week back in June until late August I wanna say, plus I travel to other stores a lot and they were getting what looked about the same stock in too at that time but we haven't had anything else come in in a while. We had about the same amount of series X coming in but they barely moved while the ps5s flew off the shelves, I bought both while I could like pretty much every other associates who game at our store. Edit: wanted to add to help, if you have the walmart app and you're in store looking for one but don't see it on the shelf scan the price tag on the home and see if it says there's any on hand, there's a chance they could have them locked up in the back
I find it embarrassing that the CEO of Playstation doesn't appreciate the PS1 and PS2, especially since those two consoles are the reason the Playstation brand is so successful. They really need someone else in charge of Playstation.
@@MorrisseyMuse You can emulate PS2 games on the Xbox Series X and S. Look into it. It's honestly really interesting. You can emulate a ton of retro consoles on Series X|S.
@@MorrisseyMuse The CEO was dumb enough to ask who would want to play Gran Turismo on ps1 given how “OLD” it looked. It’s pretty god damn embarrassing. They made it clear that backwards compatibility would not be a focus for the PS5 (how they can say that and immediately follow it up with PlayStation Now…your guess is as good as mine.)
12 years after my daughter was born, I took out my 80GB PS3 Fat out of the storage and all AAA titles I had from that time and bought some new ones used, connected it to a current LCD TV and I'm playing PS3 games like crazy every afternoon and evening. Not only that, I bought another new official rose PS3 controller for the daughter (I'm glad I can still get those) and we thoroughly enjoy playing LEGO games (Jurassic World, Harry Potter - I'd never played these 12 years ago, when I was a hardcore PC and PS3 gamer) together, while I enjoy replaying Uncharted series. Bioshock 2 and 3, Last of us, GTA5, Portal 2, Fallout are already waiting on the book shelf. I kinda want the PS5, but seeing it's impossible to get one and lack of PS3 backwards compatibility, the frustration sets in and makes me glad I still have my launch Nintendo Wii with all my GameCube games (I just made my 3rd run of GameCube Resident Evil 4 with my daughter on my Wii) and PS3 Fat.
I have managed to buy 4 ps5. 1 for myself on day one and others for my friends who I sold at cost. Then ragnarok came out and Sony restocked again and I sent a link to a friend in Maryland who's friend was able to reserve one at Target. And that link was 30 mins old at that point. I really think this will be the last Christmas where the ps5 is hard to find.
Thanks for making these. I like the other videos and podcasts too but these concise and well-informed summaries of (recent) gaming history are always the best. In the same way you always say "I can't believe it's been x years", I can't believe it's been 8 years since I started watching these retrospectives of yours. As far as the PS5 slim being like a PS3 slim situation: it's hard to think of which features they could remove as a cost-saving measure. The fat PS3 had a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles, but the PS5 can't even play music CD's. I think it'd be redesigned, but functionally the same.
I found one at Walmart the other day, but it was the digital edition. I skipped out on it for a couple of reasons. The first reason is I don't want a digital only console. The other reason is at this point why buy a PS5 when I'm already more than happy with my Series X? I found a Series X in Feb-Mar 2021 so I got it without thinking twice. I was a playstation guy for the longest time, but I didn't want to wait around for a PS5. After playing for the past 18-20 months, I can most definitely say that I'm completely on board with Xbox and Gamepass.
@@SuperHyphyOne I was in that same boat except with the Series S. I got the Series S about 8 months ago and I mostly have it as a Game Pass Machine. I was fairly content with that but I love PlayStation exclusives and I had the money for a PS5 so it was the right place at the right time. Both Series X and PS5 are absolute beasts though. Series S is no slouch either.
@@SuperHyphyOne GamePass is decent but yet its costing microsoft money since people are leaving Gamepass in droves since microsoft did not upheld there promises they made about Gamepass such as Triple AAA titles on day one but if you count on Halo infinites which is an unfinished game takes up to an hour or more to find a team death match.
In my opinion, Jim Ryan is the Don Mattrick of modern-day Playstation and he is going to damage the brand in a similar way Don did to Xbox in the late 2000s - early 2010s. To be fair, his move to get PlayStation games on PC is actually a good thing. It's the only decision he's made so far that's been good with zero downsides.
My only complaint about PlayStation games moving over to PC is that it doesn't give me much of an incentive to buy a PlayStation console. The PS5 feels like it lacks any real personality or identity just like the Xbox Series X in my opinion. At least Nintendo has exclusive games that give me reasons to care about their hardware.
@@Nin10Guy agreed. I have a laptop that can run games really well, and that’s not even its main purpose. If I knew that going in, I probably wouldn’t have bought the PS5.
@@Nin10Guy that’s not true, not all PlayStation exclusives are coming to pc, and even the ones that do are coming like a year or two down the line, and plus games still run consistently better on ps5 due to stuttering problems on pc, and at the end of the day if you want a console to play PlayStation games , you have to buy ps5. And consoles are always more popular than pcs due to it appealing to casuals more.
A excellent overview of the illusive PS5 Adam, you nailed the issues good & bad with it quite well, thanks for your opinions on it! I finally can get a PS5 on occasion at my local Boise Idaho Gamestop but they are in a $800 bundle with a game & price I just can't get behind, sadly.
My main issue with the PS5 was the disc drive wouldn't read the disc that was currently in the system on start up after I hooked up my external HDD but that got fixed a couple of updates ago. But the lack of backwards compatibility is still a missing feature, the Series console don't have true backwards compatibility(literally every single disc with no downloads) like the PS3, but it's better than nothing.
Adam, thank you for the video. I always appreciate these retrospectives from you. Also note; I'm available whenever you want to tackle that room renovation. As mentioned, I'm thinking moving that door slightly to the right, opening up the door jam a few inches to accept a full sized out swing door. Perhaps you can head to Benjamin Moore this weekend to pick out a new paint colour - I know your tired of the green. Ok! It's a plan.
I always look forward to these videos from Adam and they are by far my favorite rather I'm actually interested in a particular console or not. I love his opinions and factual insight...shout out to MN12Bird for inspiring this channel 😌
A lot of their big games like Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War Ragnarok are still built and released for the PS4. Plus, I'm sure all of those games will eventually go to PC like the previous games in those franchises. I'm not sure what makes this so different from the Series X.
@@politicalfisticuffs9531 Those are all big seller games. They may not be what you like but they are big blockbuster titles. What are you smoking? Lower tier games would be something like Dynasty Warriors.
@@The_Soulbutcher I'm just saying they're lower than God of War, Horizon and Spider-Man. Those are the biggest blowout games. I'm not sure how good the new Ratchet game is but it's definitely past its heyday and I'm not sure if it was specifically a console seller.
@@politicalfisticuffs9531 The last of us part one not being as big as those titles? I at least knew of that game for a while and only just heard of horizon forbidden West (I mostly play retro games). I mean they gave the last of us a LOT of praise on the review that Xplay did on G4.
@@MichaelM28 Ratchet and Clank is my favorite game series of all time, and even I can agree that the last really good game in the series was like 11 years ago. All 4 One I think it was.
Well, the fact the PS5 outsell the Xbox Series 2/3 to 1 shows us which model is more appealing to most people currently… and I think the Sony/Nintendo business model isn’t going away anytime soon.
The one thing to keep in mind about the future of PlayStation is what the next exclusives will be like outside of what's already been announced. People shouldn't be surprised if a lot of these unannounced titles end up being more multiplayer focused.
Same thing in Europe, you can find PS5 here, but the price is around 1000 Euros if you buy them as Bundles with 2 games or one game and an extra controller. Is usually 900 (if you can find them) without a bundle. Also these prices are the same for both Disk and Digital version.
Which country in Europe then? Because those prices sound like the ones 'scalpers' ask on 2nd hand sites for those bundles. In Belgium, I found a disc-version bundle with 1 or 2 games, 1 extra controller, unofficial double charging station and 1 year of PSN+ for 759€ (now probably an extra 50€ because of the price increase). Digital version cost less too. I could get one from right in the store, but I wasn't interested in a bundle (didn't want a white controller as an extra either, would've liked a color one). Now I'm just going to wait until the next version, the so called 'Slim' one with an extra usb-c port in the back, to attach your own Blu-ray reader. So I'll be waiting another year, before I jump to current-gen, since I also want the PSVR2.
Shoppers honestly has one of the best reward systems at any store I’ve ever shopped at. They frequently have “20x the points” events for their Optimum Points system. I remember getting a Nintendo Switch there shortly after it came out and it gave me enough points to buy two free full priced games with it.
Thank you so much for making this! I really look forward to hearing your thoughts on current and past gaming consoles and history. I really appreciate what you do and keep up the great work 😊.
I have had my PS5 for a few months. Overall I like the console alot. My only real complaint is I don't like that there is a PS5 and PS4 version of games. I would've preferred the xbox approach of just one version of the game and you get the best version applicable to console you're playing on. Beyond that the console has been fantastic.
I disagree. I prefer to have the option which version to play and install. I know for example some people install the PS4 version of Call of Duty on their PS5's because it can be played off of an external HDD to save SSD space. The Xbox approach is definitely nicer and more streamlined though, but like I said, I like having the option.
@@MichaelM28 I've been playing elden ring on the Series X on my freesync monitor. It feels a lot smoother with VRR. I just wish I had gotten Elden Ring digitally on PS5 so I could install the PS4 version, my PS5 is connected to my non-VRR TV.
@@robinfuijk That is fair. My issue isn't on a technical issue which I think is good for those want to use it. My issue is dealing with the PS5 upgrades on a couple games I had. I just ended up buying the PS5 version to not deal with it.
@@qbanb8582 oh I agree, the upgrade process on the PS5 is a pain at times. But I haven't had to deal with it anymore in a while because like you I just buy PS5 games at this point. And digital upgrades are a lot simpler than disc ones.
@@MichaelM28 No. You can install Xbox One and Series X games off the disc (whatever content is on it) without a network check now. They fixed it a few weeks ago.
7:30 I would actually like for you to make a video about that. As someone who watches long form content while they do other things It would be nice to use video games as proxy to learn more about something like globalization.
Eh, there's people more qualified for that than me. The end of globalization is a huge subject, making it JUST about gaming hardware is a bit difficult.
I think the PS5 Slim will definitely come out roughly a year from near in holiday 2023. Both the PS3 and PS4 Slim came out exactly 3 years after the original models.
I was in walmart yesterday in my country here in Central America, and the PS5 cost is US$1,250!!, with that price is reaaally hard to be gamer in this region.
Great video Been watching this series for years, I’m sorry about your old home and the explosion, how everything is good now, If it’s in you I’d still be very interested in a video on switch even tho it’s past the birthday release, hope you can do it 😬
1st: so sorry to hear about the accident and i hope your loved ones are ok. Shit happens and you'll get thru this, but i know it's hard so hugs. 2nd: your videos are always soooooo on point, i'm one of those nerds who like to watch this kind of content so kudos to you and your hard work. 3rd: you're informative and adorable, i'm also pretty scared about japan market kinda going "meh" on ps5. I myself have abandoned the idea of getting a ps5 and had the time to think about exclusive games and i'm like "meh not so much to justify a ps5 right now". also, the game pass seems very appealing so i got your point.
Having a digital edition I transitioned into the digital media world easier than I expected. I also prefer physical media with my PS1-3 titles but digital isn't terrible so long as longevity is maintained. I wanted disc but $250 slightly used.....I couldn't pass it up
Thanks for mentioning the complex ecosystem behind the manufacture & distribution of consoles. I was thinking as to how the semiconductor shortage contributed to PS5 unavailability but not for the PS4. Your words made sense. And yeah, good video!
It’s crazy to think how much the PS5 has adopted a lot of what the Xbox represents, that being based on PC architecture, popular western made games and online multiplayer. Nintendo is dominating Japan and PlayStation is losing it’s identity
It is rather a weird world. I much preferred Playstation back with PS3. I just couldn't get into PS4 and favoured the Xbox one X which was such a brilliant underutilised piece of tech. I am still blown away how Red Dead Redemption 2 looks on it today. i do have a Spiderman PS4 pro too though as i just love that design :) . I don't even like Spiderman but had to have the console lol. With the Xbox One X i have the Cyberpunk 2077 Ltd one which just looks so good.
The PS5 is not selling amazingly in Japan because Japan is not a focus market for Sony. Sony has publicly stated this, and they therefore do not prioritize shipments to the country. Every PS5 shipped to Japan sells instantly due to the insanely low volume they receive.
Shoppers drug mart in Canada is a sleeper place to get physical media, consoles, and peripherals. You don't expect shoppers drug mart to have a video game section but if it's a "full size" shoppers itll likely be tucked in the back somewhere. Fun fact: they also have seniors 20% discount days EVERY Thursday for those over 55. Granted as you might expect their selection is pretty limited but you can get stuff that I imagine very rarely goes on sale like controllers, system seller games, and consoles themselves at a decent discount. I am not aware of any limitations on this discount (such as a spending limit) besides the age requirement.
One thing you didn't mention that I'm actually really happy that Jim Ryan has done is allow for some Playstation exclusives to be ported to PC. By allowing older titles which have already seen most of their initial sales numbers plateau already, they are able to massively increase their sales of the ported game with very little impact to the performance of the PS5 itself since there's not that much overlap between the two markets. These last few years have been a great time for PC gamers with Microsoft all but giving up on console exclusives and Sony now starting to move in the same direction. I think this is a really positive trend that I hope continues
6:11 nobody bought the PS5 discless edition in Shopper's because right next to it, was *an 8-track of the original Shenmue score, which is obviously more highly sought after*
Honestly one thing I’m really on board with abt Adam is the whole all digital future I’m also a guy who really loves his physical media especially if your a collector just something abt looking behind you or wherever in ur game room at the shelf’s of all your games you have stored and collected over the years just gives you the sense of accomplishment or something idk maybe it’s just me but I really don’t wanna see physical games be thrown away to where the only way you can play them is through digital downloads I remember watching a Scott the woz video on digital only consoles and towards the end of the video he said something like I don’t see an all digital fire just more as an option now he could be wrong on that just have to wait and see but honestly I’m with him on that make an opinion instead of a force thing to do if ppl wanna go out including myself to buy a video game from say GameStop or Walmart etc then let ‘em or if ppl just prefer buying them digitally on the PlayStation sore or Microsoft store that’s fine too just don’t make it to wear your only option is to buy it off the Microsoft store digitally only when ppl like myself will honestly go outta there way to buy it physically in a store just so they can go home put it on the shelf have it preserved a bit and if they wanna go sell it or trade it in they can do that too and so on to me it’s apart of history on how far we’ve come in gaming and just having something like that taken away idk just feels depressing to me knowing that we won’t be able to go out and buy games like that to put on our shelves and and more yk:(
It's not just video games. Physical music mediums are pratically dead. When I visit an audio hi-fi store that sells music aside from a big resurgence in vinyl, Cds are almost non-existent. DVD and Blu-Ray are being replaced by Netflix and digital streaming services. Sadly a world of digital file sharing and streaming seems to be the way the entertainment media wants us to go. I'm like you and Adam, I love collecting physical games and want physical games and consoles to continue to exist but it's hard to see it continuing.
I managed to bag a 2nd hand ps5 for 390, but its got coil whine (bit noisy) so I wanna try to get it replaced or repaired (still in warranty). We shall see. I had zero interest in it, but for PSVR2, which is gonna kick all kinds of ass.
Two years later and still very hard to find in stores. Out of the two consoles this one is the one I'm more interested in but the Xbox model definitely seems more up to date with the way current day technology is focusing on in regards to ecosystems such as the gamepass which is like Prime Video with Amazon for the Prime members, Netflix, etc.
2 years in and im still not sold on a ps5 or that bluetooth speakers they call the xbox series x. theres no excitement for either of these consoles for me so for now i'll watch and wait.
I live in Utah, and have nephews that live in New Zealand that came to visit during the summer this year. While we were on vacation in St. George (southern Utah) we found a PS5 at a Walmart. They bought it right away. That is the first and last time I have seen one in retail. It's crazy. I am also old, and hate that games will become 100% digital at some point, but it is what it is I guess, things change....
Where i live (London, England) it is pretty easy to purchase PS5's and Xbox Series S & X, brand new. I see them pretty regularly in big name stores (Argos, Game, Curry/PC World)
Wild it's been 2 years. I know some joke it's a 600 dollar paperweight but it's been my most used piece of gaming hardware by far these last 2 years. Love the thing. Great gaming experiences so far.
Wow, time flies. The PS5 has been my favourite Sony console since... the ps1... It fixed everything that went wrong with 3 and 4. Such a shame Jim's running it though...
I’m the type of person who’s been watching the same “dork” ( I don’t think you are I know your joking but Adam you seem like such a genuine person and nice) review different game consoles and their prior years in videos ranging from15 to 30 mins while it’s shot in the most plain manor possible. Why? Because it’s fun and enjoyable. Don’t change Adam, don’t change your style we love you for it. Really enjoyed this video. Hope you’re doing well.
Pretty sure Sony wants to go all digital too, its pretty obvious that the blue ray drive on ps5 was an after thought also the rumours says the slim version is gonna be all digital.
Love the videos and the channel. So sorry to hear about your childhood home as well. A couple of things though after watching both the Xbox and Playstation videos. One, the generations have been going twice as long for consoles then 4 or 5 years for a couple of generations now. So using the last two gens as a guide, it could be very early yet really. Interesting time though for certain, so we will see. Second thing was that statement that xbox is not allowing small prints of games is out of date. LRG for example started printing xbox editions this year. I do think what you said was the case before but not anymore apparently.
Solid encapsulation of everything that happened with the PS5 over the past 2 years. One other thing that wasn't mentioned that really chaps my hide is the increased game price to 70. That was another insult to the fans, and a terrible move on Sony's part. And I'm a Sony pony, but the anti-consumer moves have gotten out of hand, and I'd be the first to admit it.
Im from Portugal and its just impossible to get a PS5 for normal retail price. Xbox and Nintendo Switch are easily available at retail. Its really frustrating because Playstation is where i play most of the time..
Yes I love people assuming I went to vgchartz for Japanese sales and not famitsu. The only context you have is that Japan has a lottery system for high demand products yes. But sales are sales and the Xbox series is nowhere near the ps5 in sales
Lets hope that SONY doesnt go down the same path as SEGA, who rejected partnerships with Microsoft and Nintendo, wich in the long run dictated the end of the company as console producer.
At the pace of modern game development there’s no reason to buy a console in the first few years, the ps4 was the same way. For the first couple of years I didn’t play anything but remasters on the ps4 until the good games came out. This is the same. When they’re cheaper and have good games out that’s when I’ll buy. It’s a win win really- being an early adopter is never a wise idea.
Crazy 8 months later and not only did Jim Ryan reject a 3 year deal but he secured a 10 year deal of COD with I believe a higher split of the revenue than what they had with Acitivision. The man is arrogant for sure but he got a better deal in the end.
what about Shaun Layden? i know he works for tencent now i believe and im not superfamiliar with him but some youtubers have said that he was more about what made playstation special, i mean the library. smaller different titles like the two ps3 games that were basically techdemos. forgot what they were called, they were short and both had trophies. artsy. one with a cat and a flying mask and the colours used were mostly some kind of yellow, grey and black i think. the other one was with a weird figure on a chair who did things as you used the controller. completely forgot what theyre called. but a much better suggestion is Dreams. im sure theres lots of other titles but cant think of any at the moment. these are all i could think of. or stick with jim ryan and maybe well see a new release of some game next year in january, followed by a remake in june, followed by a re-remake just before december.
Linger in shadows. that was one of them. i liked it. it was weird and odd but idk, i kinda liked it for what it was. especially the way the art looked and that twisted sense of warping images, hard to describe.
Japan sales as of 11/12/2022 are as follows: PS5: 2,070,000 XBS: 380,000 PS5 is up 1,690,000 units in Japan, and the gap is growing fast with stock becoming more available. Sony plans to ship more than 18 Million units this year, which is just short of PS4’s peak production of 20 Million. I really don’t understand the hardcore gamers. Our industry is growing, and offering more premium products, and more entry level products. We should be celebrating both sides, but instead we fight to the detriment of our own hobby.
@@AdamKoralik So are saying that because people buy them on a lottery system the sales numbers being reported are not accurate. Pretty confused man. That doesn’t make any sense.
@@tarantinoish I'm just saying the numbers aren't quite what they appear. Don't misunderstand, the PS5 is still winning. But it's not quite the chasm it appears as far as actual SOLD. It appears to include waiting lists eventually distributed via a lottery system. At least that's how it was presented to me.
Wouldn't this lottery system affect the actual numbers reported sold for Xbox as well? All signs show that ps5 has recently hit 2 million in Japan recently if you include both the base model and digital one as well
@@member64 I don't really claim to know the inner workings of that system. US military presence does seem to make it a tad easier to get a Series X though.
€880 at CEX is just what they do with in demand technology. Anything that's not in stock and has demand gets a big price hike at CEX - that's how they profit. Steam Deck was similar when it was unavailable, and CEX have been around for 20 years. The first one was in London.
I feel like multi console games drag down the complete potential of the more advanced console , and leave us with two less than superb takes, with a not so evident upgrade that in the end I'm not sure it's worth my bucks.
As a Canadian I am shocked that Shoppers Drug Mart is the one place where you could easily find a PlayStation 5 but then again I don't really go to shoppers drug Mart since they don't really have much and whatever they do have is often very expensive. In fact I think the only reason why that PlayStation 5 was left there unsold was because that location was in a remote area where internet service is not great and as such nobody wants it since they don't have the necessary internet service to even download the games they want.
You can actually find a PS5 in store but not in the major stores. I checked all the big tech stores in my country and none had them. Then i went to some small tech selling shops and there it was.
Thanks for the video, Adam, but you're not quite right in terms of sales in Japan, vgcharts says that now PS5 has more than 2 million systems sold in the country, as opposed to Xbox Series X|S's 350k or so, that's that
I really love the fact that Sony has continued their pursuit in releasing physical games. Afaik know, they have also moved on to using BD-XL discs, which means more data can be preserved on the disc. Microsoft doesn't do this at all, hence why Im hesitant to buy games on Xbox. I am genuinely concerned how Microsoft is going to solve their physical media conundrum. If they stop releasing physical games, then stores are not going to want to sell their system, since it wont generate them any money. I would love to see a scenario where they move away from blu ray and instead move onto another medium, perhaps cartridges. I feel like Sony are going to continue with Blu rays, and that may cost them.
As my brother who had a PS4....he never bot the PS5 there was no need since most games are on steam.... tho he has a PC he also has a Switch same with me Switch and PC. god I remember people saying COD was the only game people buy, most of my friends called it the CallofdutyStation 4 since that was the only game people cared
Great Video Adam! You definitely shine some perspective there. I was lucky enough to be selected on purchasing a brand new PS5/Disc through the official Sony Store at retail price...waited since the launch date 2years ago.
Thanks again, Adam. I'm really enjoying the new God of War but there's nothing I've played on the system that I couldn't have played on my ps4. The machine is good. We buy new consoles to play new games.
You can buy them on the PSN, I just purchased one for $559(disk edition)….:but if you go into GameStop, they will sell you the disk version for $559 if you purchase their pro membership. However, by the time you purchase their warranty the cheapest being $70, then pay taxes, you’re at about $700. So if you don’t mind waiting a few days, just buy directly from sony.
What's crazy is before the covid lockdowns, I was exited for the PS5. Then during and after the lockdowns, I realized what was really important and so I did not buy the PS5. Instead, I bought a pistol with ammo and learned how to use it; I never looked back. Now I am into collecting & shooting Guns instead of Games, I highly recommend people going to their local range and giving it a chance.
@@AdamKoralik we will see, but its obvious they've put alot of effort into it. Even at its high price point, it's very good value from a VR standpoint.
Worth noting that Sony has made some serious moves to enter the PC market. They’ve published some really high quality PC versions of their big games and they’re going to manufacture some high spec gaming monitors and headphones in the near future. Wouldn’t be too surprised if Sony’s future is s as a publisher and maker of high end PC accessories (which would be kinda a return to their electronics heritage)
This is a better future than simply following Microsoft with service games and servers a la Netflix and Amazon prime. It might be the end of PlayStation as the leading platform for cutting edge technology as a one stop shop, but it would allow Sony to do what it does best and make high quality, more ethically sourced and functional electronic equipment and new devices, with a back catalogue and development ecosystem that can venture into new territories. I really like their haptic feedback stuff, first thing I’ve cared about from Sony since the ps3.

Just got my PS5 earlier this week. Found it at Walmart and it was the last one in stock out of 11 they got in. I absolutely love it!
They are cool systems

@@MichaelM28 I bet you are a fanboy yourself.
You can get PS5s pretty regularly on Amazon or Walmart online for retail.
Yup! I've even seen some in store at my local Best Buy over the past month.
@@MichaelM28 Those are lower tier games and half of those are remakes. Big whoop.
Xbox is now available on Limited Run. They’ve done Day of the Tentacle & Doom 64 so far.
2 years in and STILL barely any PS5 exclusive games. I should have just saved my money and upgraded my PC... 🙃
A bunch of those games got PC ports anyway, so yes you should have.
Great video as always Adam! Watched both anniversary vids from the past couple days. Never disappoints!
I was in walmart yesterday in my country here in Central America, and the PS5 cost is US$1,250!!, with that price is reaaally hard to be gamer in this region.

Been watching this series for years,

also, the game pass seems very appealing so i got your point.

Partially, I'm literally in Japan right now. They actually do this through a lottery system.
@@AdamKoralik Nice and yeah I’ve heard. I have a few friends there that have been struggling to secure a unit through lottery.

Your knowledge about the video game industry is truly amazing. Unbias and simply just makes sense. This was a great Video!!!!
Microsoft actually recently started allowing limited run to do small print runs of games for Xbox.
I finally got my Ps5 a few months ago and haven’t really use it. Waiting for Spider-Man 2 next year
6:11 nobody bought the PS5 discless edition in Shopper's because right next to it, was *an 8-track of the original Shenmue score, which is obviously more highly sought after*
I bought my PS5 from my local Walmart two weeks ago and they've had one in stock since then
And it was the disc versions no digitals available
The PS5 looks pretty nice 🙂 but don't really like how big it is but I'm glad I have one , I'm ready for silent hill 2 remake and ff7 remake part 2 !!

Cant believe it's been two years that I've had my Ps5. Honestly a pretty u derwhelming first two years

You made me nervous the whole time you were going to smack your PS5 off the table. Nice review.

Yes, I do love people telling me they know how to read VGCharts with no understanding of the context
Thanks for your content man. You motivate. Don't take that power for granted. Keep it up!

The PS5 is another in the line of amazing consoles; the PlayStation seems to get even more phenomenal with each release!
what about Shaun Layden? i know he works for tencent now i believe and im not superfamiliar with him but some youtubers have said that he was more about what made playstation special, i mean the library. smaller different titles like the two ps3 games that were basically techdemos. forgot what they were called, they were short and both had trophies. artsy. one with a cat and a flying mask and the colours used were mostly some kind of yellow, grey and black i think. the other one was with a weird figure on a chair who did things as you used the controller. completely forgot what theyre called.
but a much better suggestion is Dreams. im sure theres lots of other titles but cant think of any at the moment. these are all i could think of.
or stick with jim ryan and maybe well see a new release of some game next year in january, followed by a remake in june, followed by a re-remake just before december.
Linger in shadows. that was one of them. i liked it. it was weird and odd but idk, i kinda liked it for what it was. especially the way the art looked and that twisted sense of warping images, hard to describe.
Japan sales as of 11/12/2022 are as follows:
PS5: 2,070,000
XBS: 380,000
PS5 is up 1,690,000 units in Japan, and the gap is growing fast with stock becoming more available.

I feel like multi console games drag down the complete potential of the more advanced console , and leave us with two less than superb takes, with a not so evident upgrade that in the end I'm not sure it's worth my bucks.
My brother managed to get one at Best Buy a couple of months ago. As for me, I bought a Series X earlier this year and I'm quite happy with it.
Thanks for the video, Adam, but you're not quite right in terms of sales in Japan, vgcharts says that now PS5 has more than 2 million systems sold in the country, as opposed to Xbox Series X|S's 350k or so, that's that
Yes, everyone keeps throwing this at me. I'm literally in Japan... right now.
The system is more complicated than that. It's entirely lottery based.

I love these videos and look forward to them every year from you.
Seems like yesterday it was released. Time truly flies. Now awaiting the PS5 Pro.
I was really expecting you to talk more about the new VR headset. Seems like they are putting alot of eggs in that basket.
I really have nothing to say about that other than...seems like a mistake.
@@AdamKoralik we will see, but its obvious they've put alot of effort into it. Even at its high price point, it's very good value from a VR standpoint.
this is why im waiting, ill probably cave in once support ends for the ps4. just seems like a big mess trying to get a ps5 right now.
@@BMoore335 lol ethically sourced are you joking? Everything just about still requires oil to manufacture. They are all full of it. It is just marketing spin and meaningless when the say there are going green.
TWO YEARS later and STILL not on store shelves. Insane. Smh…
Hopefully 2024 will make everything better.
Hell yeah Adam I was waiting for this one thank you!
