- This ice cream reminds me of Ghanaian Fan Ice…but with an even more delightful texture and flavor. My family is hooked on it and everyone loves who’s had it look forward to more. Best part, the sweetness of the sugar apple helps cut back on the amount of sugar in the recipe. So good!
Ingredients:
4 cups heavy whipping cream
1 medium sized cherimoya/ custard apple / sugar apple (you need a cup of the cream from the fruit)
14 oz sweetened condensed milk
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

If I can’t find sugar apple is there any substitute? I’m in Botswana
You can actually make the ice cream with all the other ingredients minus the sugar apple if you can’t find one. It is still sweet enough and very creamy.
Is this Soursop?
@@TheWordBath correct name

No…but you can use Sour Sop. I have seen it done.
Hi here in Barbados it's a soursop sugar apple has the segments on the skin. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
Not a soursop. This is a custard Apple.
KK - It's gritty because after you take it out of the freezer, you have to blend it to make it smooth. Then, you put it back into the containers. I can't wait to try it, looks delicious.
You work so hard and your presence and presentation is so professional , enjoyable but warm. Thanks
Wow, thank you so much! ❤️
Thanks for introducing me to something totally new. Looks delicious.🥰
I’m highly honored ❤❤
Sour sop fights cancer cells I use the leaves to make tea reduces inflammation as well.
🥳❤ YUM!! I wish I could get some of those seeds. The plant doesn't grow where I currently live. Makes me want sour sop too.
Hallo my sister Kwankyewaa’s Kitchen! Where I am from in the sweet island of Trinidad 🇹🇹 and Tobago we also call this SUGAR APPLE ! Small world eh!❤
Small world for sure, sister Cheryl ❤️❤️❤️
Looks delicious. 😋 Love your containers, i would love some of those to store my ice cream
Thanks sis for the effort, so lovely. Will give a try. Watching from Nigeria. Can I use sour sop instead of sugar apple?
The fruit used in the video is actually soursop
Looks yummy. I sure will try this out.
I love sugar apple but never thought to make ice with it. I bet the texture was perfect for it
It really is. I hope you try it❤️
Thank you 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Spectacular 😊! Love the intense love ❤️ that goes into your food of any kind.

Yes, my mum says it is called sweet apple in Ghana. You’ll love it❤
I am going to try this sour sop ice cream
Please do!❤
This isn't soursop dear. This is cherimoya.. soursop usually has thorns on it
All of them are related, some are round(custard apple and sugar apple) while some are long( sour sop). The soursop has a little tangy taste, while the other two are sweet and the texture is sometimes a bit grainy, but they all look the same when they are cut open.
Looks delicious 😋 will try! Thank you!
My pleasure! Hope you enjoy ❤❤❤
love it! thank u for sharing ❤
In Trinidad we make juice, ice cream and punch with soursop😊
I would too if it was that available here. It is so good ❤❤
Can you start a youtube channel and show how you all use soursop? Please🙏
Belize too!
Merci pour la recette 😊
Hi thanks ❤dear
Watching this from Jamaica. Is the sugar apple the same as what we call the sweet sop?
Yes it is ❤️
@@KwankyewaasKitchen Oh, cool! Got a tree in my yard!
Seems very different from sugar apples in the Virgin islands . It resembles more of a custard apple, of which the skin turns a yellowish color.
Is a must try. Delicious ❤❤❤❤
You’ll love it 🥰🥰
🙌🏾Outstanding🙌🏾❤️
Yummy! 😋
It looks delicious 😋😋. Where can I get those sugar apples
I got these from an Asian supermarket. Some grocery stores stock them too.

I do see them in some Asian supermarkets and grocery stores like Sprouts around here when they’re in season. I got this from an Asian supermarket
Thank You For Sharing and The For Tip.
My pleasure always❤
Hi sis..per my research i think this fruit is called cherimoya. it has no thorns or bumps...
It is cherimoya, sis. That much I know. The label on it even says so. I thought that it is same as custard apple/ sweet apple☺️
Looks really delicious ❤ and wonderful
It is very good 🥰🥰🙂
@@KwankyewaasKitchen I bet it was ❤️
We call it custard apple in the UK
Mmmmmmm enjoyment galore 😅😋👌❤
😃😃😃

Reusable ice cream tub amzn.to/4f2gn9h
Where can you find that type of apple like to have something like that too grow
I haven't had sugar apple for the longest time.
Good morning
What can you use instead of whipped cream
Thanks for sharing
My pleasure❤
We call it soursop in Jamaica
This is the sweet type with no sharpness to it though.
No, this is not the soursop, it is the sweeter relative called sugar apple or sweet sop in the Caribbean.
Well done
Thank you ❤❤
Hi! Is it heavy cream that you use? Thanks,
Yes
Been making ice cream like this years ago, it's called a 3 ingredient ice cream.
Thank you.
❤️❤️
Nice🎉
Thanks 🤗❤
Not only an ice cream shop, throw in a full gourmet food restaurant.
Awww thank for that beautiful compliment! ❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾
Right I would be all for it! I had to resubscribe to her! I need more than 1 restaurant from her! I know investors would invest in her like they did the slutty vegan.
Can you do it without the condensed milk?
Definitely, why not!
DIABETES is on the😅 increase.
Do anything to avoid all the sugars out of our diet.
We don't have that fruit in SA
Is it SOUR SAP FRUIT?
can i use soursop...
Fluffy and Stiff😂😂
Yammy😘😘
🥰🥰🥰
@Kwankyewaa Its called Cherimoya..Has no thorns and also creamier than soursop. Sweet apple is normally full of seeds.
This fruit is not a Sugar Apple. It is a Custard Apple. They are in the same family of fruits but the outside skin/peel of the Sugar Apple is raised/bumpy whereas the Custard Apple (what you used here) is smooth. The taste and texture of each fruit are also different. As the name implies, the texture of Custard Apple is like custard and Sugar Apple is sweet and grainy like sugar.
I will for sure try your recipes.
Thanks for the clarification! I hope you enjoy this when you make it❤️
That fruit looks like mountain soursop, similar to the soursop.
Is this fruit also known as aluguintugun? I may get the spelling wrong
It is quite similar to aluguntugui, this is not as prickly on the outside and it is a lot sweeter. My mum says it is also in Ghana.
@@KwankyewaasKitchenIt is called kgnawie in the Ga language. My mum has a couple of the trees in her house and it’s the first thing I gravitate to when I visit her ❤❤❤
Is this soursop??
Looks like soursop 😊
Similar but is is sweeter thank soursop
Naa it’s sweeter than soursop. We called it sweet apple in my village.
I Googled Sugar Apple and it gave me a picture of a fruit called "Sugarsop" and it's scientific name & said that it's also called Sugar Apple by some. It also

Great job! Just sprinkle some chopped pecans on there and give me a bowl.
I've watched other videos where they removed the core.
This looks like Sour/sweet Sop
Du gras et du sucre. À manger avec modération.
It's sour sop not apple
that is not a sugar apple.... you can't peel sugar apples. the exterior is very hard and not smooth
Thanks for the information 😊
Isn't that a soursop?
Same family but this is sweet with no bite to it❤
@@KwankyewaasKitchen wow. I'm definitely going to look for the sugar apple and try to make the ice cream. Wonderful recipe.
It looks like sour sap
Similar but this is just sweet with no sour or sharp taste to it
Looks like soursop fruit.
This is a soursop
No, custard apple. Same family but not same
