A little tip for people who are single, love cake and don’t want to (or can’t) use all the cake mix from a box at once: check the box for how many eggs the mix requires and invest in a small scale. If the mix requires three eggs, divide the mix in three equal parts, store each unused third in an adequately sized ziplock bag. Write how much oil, milk, water etc you need to add (for example 1/3 cup of oil, 1/3rd cup of water). If the mix requires 4 eggs, either divide into 2 or divide into 4… etc. And if the box tells you to use oil (or melted butter) you won’t need a standmixer. A handheld electric whisk or even an old-fashioned hand whisk work fine. My daughter and me love cake… but we can’t eat a full-sized one between the both of us. We still want to treat ourselves and some times microwave oven mug cakes just don’t cut it. Heating an entire oven for a tiny cake seems like such a waste and in Summer it heats up the house more than we’d like (we live in Europe, no air conditioning). Small size rice cooker cake is the way to go. Another little tip: if your rice cooker is the old-fashioned type that doesn’t have a non stick inner pot, line it with baking parchment to cook your cake. To ‘stick’ it into place, use a bit of cooking spray. To make it fit as perfectly as possible, crinkle up the paper as much as you can and flatten it out again. It’ll be easier to fold and fit into that inner pot.
I found your explanation of setting the timer, at what time the cook setting changed to warm and the reason for the total cook time to be the clearest and most concise explanation I have ever heard.
Loved the meat loaf in the rice cooker. Made honey garlic chicken yesterday first and just transferred to a bowl and covered with aluminum foil and then made the rice and the chicken was still blazing hot. Im not sure why I wasnt cooking in this before. the clean up is a BREEZE!
Absolutely love how you use good old fashioned, nutritious ingredients. Not too basic but never complicated. You have just the right ideas to make the perfect comfort foods which are great during a cold winter night. Keep up the great videos.
Thank you for these! I'm excited to try, especially the cake. I think there's probably a few million of us out here who don't have time for big production cooking and would love to have simple, yummy alternatives.
Got mine sat @ flee market Waite Waite $2.00 god is good 3cup they came out a couple three yrs ago always wanted one I’m a gadget guy lol I’m single what else to do lol
I've just started cooking for myself to save money and this is great and really motivates me to stop eating out as much! The easy meals really helped out thank you!!
The instruction manual on my B and D Rice cooker says it goes to warm setting when the liquid is cooked away. Like with rice. So your warm setting to finish the cake rising etc is amazing!! 🥳 it looked lovely!! ❓For more temp control tho i think a small electric multi pot with adjustable temperature controls would be useful to cook a greater variety of foods. (Tried a soup in my Rice cooker today… boil or warm. It still worked out. 🙃 I really do want to use it for more than Rice!!!) Thanks for putting it altogether using your cooking skills and creativity! 🎉🎉🎉
This would be wonderful for college students or people in a small room. I just picked up a 3 cup Hamilton Beach Oatmeal maker that does rice also. The good thing is it shuts off after cooking, no going to warm. I'll do meals in it also, like the rice with chicken or fish on top. I can see chili beans with a cornbread mix on top. Also polenta/grits. Rice a Roni boxed mix. I'll be experimenting when mine arrives.
thanks for explaining about the cooker switching off to warm when trying to cook cakes, i just tried this tonight before seeing your video and thought i had a faulty unit but this explains what is happening. i ended up with a sludge cake but thats ok - i will try again now i know whats happening!
Bob Bogetti, I ordered a Multi cooker 1.5 with my RBC Rewards points. Today I wanted to make a pudding, but I couldn't find a good display as to how to steam my pudding. While going through Google, I came across your video! What a delight, now I know how to use this cooker for multi recipes! You did an excellent show Bob and I liked your innovation of lifting the meat loaf from the pot!! I have subsribed and will watch more. Thank you! Ganga Wignarajah from Ottawa :-)
I received a Wolfgang Puck 1.5 cu rice cooker & this I will definitely try! I hate cooking & making a lot of clean up for myself after, but this I'll try ! I would be interested in my of these receipts w/ these cookers, you only have to clean the cooker (& dishes Later)
Robert? You’re my new best friend! I have two of these Wolfgang Puck mini rice cookers and I LOVE them! They’re more like a mini cooker. You cannot overcook or burn anything in them. I use them to cook my rice, grits, and oatmeal, and reheating. Perfect! I have yet to make meatloaf and a cake in it. Game on tonight with the meatloaf. I will be baking a cake very soon in this. What about brownies? How would you bake them in the mini cooker? Thank you! Please keep those recipes coming! 🤗💖👍🏾
A combination of both but primarily based on time, depending on the recipe the rice cooker may switch to keep warm mode before the food is finished cooking so you may have to press it again to go back into the cooking mode. Thanks for watching!
Thank you very much! I'll see what I can do for the muffin sandwiches in the rice cooker. A good machine for muffin sandwiches is the Hamilton Beach Sandwich maker, I have a video on that - th-cam.com/video/KtU_AT2Ch10/w-d-xo.html Thank you for watching!
the first rice cooker I had was green and I had it for a couple years but when I made meatloaf in it I filled it up all the way to the line and so I got two meals out of it so now I'm going on my second one which is still in the package those things are great
I think these are GREAT ideas! But, I would imagine that, if someone is cooking more than one course in a small rice cooker, they may wish to get one of those Dash mixers for the cake as, those might be inexpensive and small. Not sure. But, to make all those meals in a portable rice cooker, I’d imagine they might not have a KitchenAid Mixer.
I think the cook time for the rice would be shorter if using defrosted veggie & heated water :) Next, I like to try cooking the rice & meatloaf together ( put it in at some point when water has been absorbed a little). I will play with that & see how that comes out. Thanks for these delicious and handy ideas.
Do you have a bug in my house? I'm a little freaked out that you post a meatloaf tutorial on the same night I'm making one. I had planned on making it earlier this week but it kept being postponed. This is a weird concindence. lol
Cheddar&Broccoli: I just bought a small rice cooker. How do I make cheddar and broccoli rice that taste similar to the Rice a Roni cheddar & broccoli microwave rice cups that you can buy at Wal-Mart?
Great video and ideas! Nice to see a new video. I love using my 6 cup Aroma cooker.Would love to have the Wolfgang one. I really call it my rice/multi cooker.
With this 3 cup rice cooker, you could double the meatloaf but not the rice. I also wouldn't go above 8 ounces for the cake. If you have a larger rice cooker then there is no problem. The rule of thumb for rice is the maximum amount of dry rice is 1/2 of the total size. In this video I used 1 cup of rice and 1/2 cup of vegetables, you could make it 1 cup of rice and 1 cup of vegetables.
The moment I saw you putting butter I stopped watching. Eating artery clogging stuff quickly made? Go to Mcdonald's. A rice cooker offers an amazing way to cook healthy food, but you kind of blew it.
i love this! keep using mixes, etc. more videos, pls. other chefs use too many ingredients and no mixes. bravo for you!
great suggestion

How long did you need to cook it?
Very good. I'm going to try this recipe. I never thought of just using 8 oz of a cake batter to make a mini cake. Thanks for sharing this idea.
You are very welcome! Thanks for watching!

I would like to have the egg cracker where did you find that at ? Can you provide a link to it?
Here's an Amazon link amzn.to/37lFrqg Thanks for watching!
@@RobertBogetti Thanks so much for the link Robert. I am tired of cracking the eggs and making a mess on the counter top.
@@RobertBogetti Thanks for the link I just added it to my shopping cart. Thanks for the video and taking time out to respond to my comment.
Nice!
Thanks!
That was fun.

It's a nice little cooker. I plan on making more rice cooker videos in the near future. Thank you for watching!
So just to make sure I understand...do you leave the cake on the warm mode to cook? Thank you.

These recipes look yummy. Did you just cook everything until the timer went off, or did you know how long to cook it? TYFS ❤️

love your show and my WP rice cooker. I saw someone try to make muffin sandwhichs. Any ideas?

Nice and easy! A print out of the instructions would help ...
I'll keep that in mind for my upcoming videos and try to update my older videos with printable recipes when I get a chance. Thank you for watching!

I just wanted to know who starches your Chef's hat? (Perfection)
Is this little WP cooker still working>=?
Thank you! The WP rice cooker is still working fine. I also use a larger Ming Tsai multi-cooker quite a bit.
Did I miss your Ming Tsai vid? I'll do a research scan.
No, you didn't miss it. I haven't made a video with it yet. It's on my to-do list.
Great video. It could have been three videos. Make more videos please.
I put brown sugar, mustard flower and ketchup for the mix.
Cheddar&Broccoli: I just bought a small rice cooker. How do I make cheddar and broccoli rice that taste similar to the Rice a Roni cheddar & broccoli microwave rice cups that you can buy at Wal-Mart?
I'll put that on my list of videos to make. Thanks for watching!
robert can your recipes be found on web
Didi no 1
Very cute, with the red hat!
That egg cracker looked so cool, but it has some very mixed ratings on Amazon. Any idea what people are doing wrong?
Nice RED outfit!!!
Thank you.
Like yr videos, but I wish you had yr camera alot! Closer. Would be better...
More recipes please. That said, meat, onions and seasoning is a burger, not a meatLOAF.

loved your video - you make it look sooo easy - how about a video for the Air Fryer (just bought one) - thanks
I wish you could have shown the meatloaf up close.
where is this meatloaf recipe and please do more mini rice cooker recipes. I thought this was the 1.5 cup wolfgang puck one.
It's 1.5 cup dry that produces 3 cups of rice.
Yum
Thanks!
can this recipe be doubled as I have 3 men in the home
With this 3 cup rice cooker, you could double the meatloaf but not the rice. I also wouldn't go above 8 ounces for the cake. If you have a larger rice cooker then there is no problem. The rule of thumb for rice is the maximum amount of dry rice is 1/2 of the total size. The first person I’ve seen that didn’t hang over the food to taste, I’m a retired chef never understood that nasty
This is more of a mini insta pot not really mini rice pot
You decorated the cake, when it was upside down
That's what lots of the pros do. It makes for a more even, flat surface for decorating. :)
He needs one of the gadgets I have hand cranked chopper pull cord like a lawnmower not too even but who cares
The moment I saw you putting butter I stopped watching. Eating artery clogging stuff quickly made? Go to Mcdonald's. A rice cooker offers an amazing way to cook healthy food, but you kind of blew it.
Give me a break! Use your own imagination, fool!
Wow. Simply sub it with whatever you want, then!
That’s kind of stupid. So use whatever you want to use. And btw, grass-fed butter has proven NOT to be bad for you.
