We have a few similar style supermarkets here in Australia. While I don't do my main shop there, I like to browse and pick up a few treats. I especially like that they promote smaller boutique brands, and not just boring ubiquitous multi national brands.
I mean the salary is higher there as well. For example, an anesthesiologist job posting locally to me is 450-600k, but looking at the postings in LA or near LA it ranges from 600-1mil. So if you're in a field like that this place would "affordable"

I would recommend the half and half to anyone looking to get them. second, those glass bottles that you can "bring back" you have to pay a FEE when you purchase them, so it is less plastic ect. but it costs even more than the price listed with the fee.
The items are marked up to pay for the expense of running an organic grocery store in a posh location. Whole Foods, Sprouts, and TJs have the capital to open in prime locations. Local grocery stores do not, so they brand themselves as upscale and markup products for 2x the normal costs.
Most of this stuff, you can even find at Grocery Outlet or even a liquor store in California if you get lucky. This place is for rich people who can afford other people's labor, but are too lazy to cook for themselves. All of those pre-packaged foods just says it all. It's way cheaper to buy separate ingredients and cook then it is to buy something than it is already made that has the Erewhon logo on it.
i do love stores like these but the prices OMG hehe but its quality and not mass produced and full of fillers and preservatives found in a lot of cheap mass produced stuff I. have heard of that smoothie and wanted to try but you can google recipes to make it minus some of the expensive ingredients like sea moss etc thanks this was a great video the first of yours that i have seen i enjoyed it
If it's from local producers, shouldn't it be 10× cheaper than to import it. I feel shops use this local produced thing to ramp prices up, thinking the customer is stupid. There's no logistics, so it should, in fact, be cheaper. These prices are horrendous. There's no practical thinking of what prices should be.
