My Dad bought one of those, sealed everything with ducktape, threw a tarp down , and fitted a box fan with a filter to it, and used it as a positive pressure paint booth when he was painting his motorcycle, paint came out as good as factory (not a brag factory paint tends to be kind of trash but acceptable)
i have the same one, I went to home depot got the cheapest thinest sheets of wood that they sell because im up north and we get snow a lot I put the sheets under the canopy attached to the metal tubes using zip ties and zip screws.
Just a heads up. Not sure what its like there but here in Newfoundland we had a similar tent..... worked great for 1 week.... first windstorm all the main structure poles bent and the whole thing collapsed. be wary and sandbags on the corners help!. p.s its always windy in NL.
Glad to see you guys getting some upgrades. I've had great luck with the carport from Costco lasting several years (same weather) and it was only like $300 at the time, but it's closer to $400 now.
Awesome guys! Tip from NM with one of those carports, try to get the cover pretty tight and it'll last a long time if it's closed on all sides. I've had mine for ~4 years. Upgraded to a t post on each leg over the tent spikes.
This was probably the best, well written, ad read you guys have done. Very creative. It actually draws you in with good intent, then BAMBOOZLES you into buy raycons 😂 On the real, you guys are my fav channel. Hope to catch another live one day
We had two of these when we moved to TN, living out of them while we built the house, then used as crude storage in the meantime. As long as: you keep snow off of it, and keep the sun off of it... It'll probably do just fine!!! 😏 Our pipes were all powder coated though. Still have them, too. The tarp? The UV degraded them and both, one white and one a heavier duty grey. The white lasted longer, probably due to reflecting some light (not sure if that applies to UV). The HEAVY rain was a problem though, as the rubber straps didn't provide enough tension. The side walls were all separate from the roof, and had it been a single long sheet, it wouldn't have been able to pull the roof inside and dump water in 🙁 MY TIPS: - Probably want to get some other tarps to lay over top, to act as a UV barrier and extend the life of the primary one. Even better, get corrugated metal sheets and bolt those to the pipes lol - Get a spool of fence wire (soft, flexible steel), or copper wire, and then use it to wrap around the pipes along the entire roof edge, at any of the strap points. That was my final fix which kept the rain from pooling at the roof edge and eventually draining inside. (before that, I doubled the straps with those from the other carport, but the bungee's rubber eventually degraded on all of them) _[edit: I used the little cone/ball pieces with the wire so that I could retain it using the existing tarp eyes. I think I used a large nut inside those pieces, since you can't tie a knot in the wire to retain those pieces like they do with the bungees.]_ - DEFINITELY stake down the legs, _all_ of them. The walls will act like sails and cause it to walk around with minimal wind present. Not a huge deal at your location, but in combination with rain/snow, could cause it to collapse. *And by stakes, I mean rebar with a bent end* lol Tent stakes will NOT cut it. IF THE FEET ARE SLIPPED ONTO THE PIPE, GLUE OR BOLT THEM ON! Doesn't do much good if the feet are staked but the wind lifts the ENTIRE structure, pulling them from said feet. Or if you're worried about the drilled hole compromising the plastic _(as I presume they are plastic),_ then use cinder blocks, drill a hole in the leg and anchor it to the block with the wire. A big enough gust can still lift the block, but it's better than nothing. - PIN EVERY PIPE SLIP JOINT! All it needs to be is a drilled hole through it with some wire ran through and twisted together. This will keep the wind from tugging the structure apart. Be sure to drill the holes SIDEWAYS so that none of the tarp is rubbing on the holes/wire. (there's a reason marathon runners get chafed nips lol) That's all I can remember for the problems we continually had and the FINAL solutions I came up with to prevent them. There were many revisions to most of the above suggestions, so I'm sparing you the "R&D" time AND headaches of failed fixes. 😅 It sucks having to keep going out and repair it after every small storm, though it rains HARD here in Tennessee. I doubt you'd experience the same rain there, but, I never had to deal with snow... and snow on tarp structures = failure. *_So make sure to keep snow and ice off of it!_* 😉👍 [/rad ramble]

If you guys run a couple ratchet straps to the bars and connect them to the wooden shelf in the back that'll hold it down from being blown over by any heavy wind Philip two 5 gallon buckets with sand and put them on each side on the front it should hold that down to the ground pretty good deal
Those plastic tarps last a year or less if you have wind. I got a Tuff Shed. They are based in Cali but similar companies elsewhere; its basically the strongest shed you can buy; its better constructed than my house. They set it up and balanced it, and you could live in it if you wanted.
You guys need to secure the temu trash bag y'all got your stuff under. Secure it to the ground. You don't want it to blow away like a big kite off its string. Super thin gauge means super light tubing and that trash bag will take that tubing with it.

Will you be buying the "CE Certified 5000lb car lift", too? 😅 (the kind that are two ramps you drive over with 2 hydraulic cylinders under them; 1 per side) I've been getting those ads in my games and *_immediately_* thought of you guys!!
@@RadFactoryGav But it's CE Certified! Surely it's safe... Oh, the manufacturers can _self certify_ stuff... hmm... 😏 Honestly though, it would probably be MORE THAN safe for the Miata and smaller projects (5000lbs = 2.5ton). It _does_ have metal locks just as a typical shop's post hoists have, so it isn't relying on line pressure to maintain hoist height. Still, the hesitation is well placed and I don't blame you. All depends on how much they want for them, as the clips only mention $100 coupons lol Though, as I check against BendPak... Their cheapest mid-lift (height) are $2500 which hoist 6000lbs and each of the 2 lifts feature _two_ rams. Not sure if that is for lifting capacity or for speed, but it's interesting nonetheless!

Also can the tarp be replaced alone or would you have to buy a whole new carport etc. Thanks Much!
the garage last about a year or the first big wind storm. I bought three of them.cut them down about a foot and replaced the tarp with one from a commercial tractor trailer that I got used and now they are going on 10 years! tree limbs are the only real problem now.
Maybe them hollowed tubes can be reinforced fill em with something concrete like. Throw some rhino liner on that canvas and that may be a cheap garage hack, or an amazing disaster.
