Hahaha supposed to be retired but still tired. Funny hubby kabayan. Thanks again for showing how to build your septic tank.

Provide sewage treatment plant for household. Septic tank pollutes ground water unless it's leak proof but obviously it's not the way it's constructed. Water coming out of the septic tank shall be treated before going to canals, streams, etc. Dept of Environment and Natural Resources is strict about waste water disposal.

Great job on using that type of form for the columns that's the correct way to do them and avoid imperfections and blowouts all the videos I've seen on construction in the Philippines they used plywood and u can see imperfections in dimensions of the columns .👍🏼👍🏼

    1. Embedding PVC pipe inside a a Concrete Column is a bad practice. 5yrs from now that pipe could leak. Structurally it could ruin the Column.
    2. Ties must be Closer than the actual.

Looks good so far but I am amazed by the thickness of your floor slab, It looks like it is not to thick or deep. I am building right now over in Santa Maria and I need a 4 inch deep concrete slab.

Those Phenolic boards are a lot better than the ply, especially the Chinese ply. Taking shape 👍👍👍

I am having the same problem with my workers in the Philippines. They seem to forget to put mortar between the blocks..... Sad that is where the strength is.

manuel bartolme, Fiberglass and Basalt rebars are not available in the PH. Epoxie
coated are but at twice the price, Galvanized available on special order. Steel in
pure water barely rusts because the oxygen is depleted in the concrete and not
replaced. Water penetration is approximately 4CM and the rebar minimum is 3 bar
diameters from the surface so out of hygroscopic water. More important is having
clean water and sand without salt which creates all kinds of havoc. We put a light
coat of alkalid oil based paint on our rebars because we bought large quantities
that could rust before use and to make them recoverable if stolen. Never had any
    problems with theft.
Polyethylene sheeting we shipped from the US when we were on vacation. It
cost P400 per roll for shipping in Balicbayan. This material exceeds the thickness
allowed for plastic sheeting and plastic bags. We are now buying the used plastic
sheeting that comes on Maylasia dimensional lumber and other bulk shipments. It
is 4 X 6 meter sizes and costs P150 each. Seems well suited to block ground moisture
    and radon gasses.
Water in concrete equals the weight of the cement. The water or dampness in the
sand and gravel is part of water weight and varies day to day. Another problem is that
usually the agrigates are bagged ahead of time and can be rained on (into the bags).
We use a trained mixer operator who throws a splash of water when the mixer comes
back over to him then 2 gravel, the cement 2 sand and the last gravel He puts in water
about every 2 bags of material then mixes 3 minutes, looks in and throws a couple
cups of water. The finisher gives feedback about how he is doing and if something is
to dry or wet they place it on top if wet or bottom if dry.
Before you insult your intelegence, I am an engineering graduate (university of Pittsburgh
class of 1970) with 48 years experience. I also admit I can't spell worth a flip.
You see the septic system is next. You might want to give guidance about entry,
transfer, and exit port relative heights and venting locations.
Thank the Lord for another glorious day in paradise.
    george and aurora

Sir.... That's why I said other countries...The only pure. Water I know is distilled water.and medical saline solution???.Even rainwater is contaminated by atmosphere...Pure water is even an electric insulator or will not conduct electricity...But no one use pure water in concrete..

One a second thought...Iam worried about size of their septic...Ok for a couple and a dog...Having lived half of my life in the Philippines...extended family member means a bigger septic tank...I prefer three chambers...Iam worry that is too deep that water may rise up in typhoon season..Looks like their lot was a former rice fields??

why are you placing pvc pipes inside the section of the column? outdated practice....your reducing the strength capability of the column..and i think the lateral ties on those columns arent that as many...

16mm rebars for the septic tank, that won’t fall apart I think I used 12mm. It’s good to be overboard rather than under board. 👍👍👍

@ 3:24 Never put a pipe inside a reinforced concrete column. The reason for this is that you'll be compromising the strength of the column by reducing the volume of the concrete that the pipe took up. Second, that inside pipe will cause a lot of trouble for you in the future. If there will be a leakage on that pipe, you can never repair it and if water leaks, it will corrode the steel reinforcement. @ 15:19 If this video would be seen by your local building official you'll get into hot water because by law a standard septic tank has 3 chambers.

Embedding 4 inches pipe on cmu block wall is questionable. Minimum cocrete cover will not be met. Your CHB should have a minumum of 800 PSI compresive strength, if not your contractor is using sub standard chb on your house. You mentoined 500 psi if i am not mistaken. I can see they are installing the missing column ties, however, the mising ones on tie beam left uninstalled and poured.
On septic tank, they should poured the bottom slab first before laying out the chb walls. I don’t see the guy holding a measuring tape when he place the column ties, they just guess the distance.where are the rebar for the floor slab on septic tank. Placing the form on clumn with the missing column ties on the upper portion of the column closer to the beam.

    • @retiredandhappyinphilippin3329

      We hired contractor

    • @leomaki8373
      @leomaki8373 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Oh i see, so its like design and build package
service. Its good. saves a lot of time and money 👍
In some practice we hire a separate team of architects so it may countercheck the works of the builder/contractor but it seems theres no need for that bcos your the one’s playing that role already. cant wait to see the completion of the house.
