I don't like how common it is now for people to openly discuss their sex life. I went to dinner with some girls and they were talking really loud about sexual private type things (this was a small restaurant too) and I felt it was weird but in the moment felt peer pressure to act like it was normal and even chime a long a little. But what ever happened to privacy, manners, elegance? I'm not just talking about celebs. I'm talking about random people how they just tell you EVERYTHING and it seems nothing is private and sacred. I'm forever alone rn, but the idea of being in love and those moments being just for us is one of the best parts.
Personally I feel like people are closed off from speaking about sexuality and topics that surround that and it makes me sad that it’s seen as taboo. It’s a normal experience for humans and every other creature on the planet. Biologically speaking, we’re all programmed to have these needs to carry on and reproduce for the sake of our species just like every other living thing. Wether or not we choose to indulge that part of ourselves is our own individual choice just as privacy is your own choice. I think things like religion (just one example) have created a stifling culture around these topics that tell us that if we partake or acknowledge these parts of ourselves that we’re not classy, elegant, or that we’re ill mannered creatures. That’s sad to me that you feel uncomfortable in the instance you described but at the same time, you clearly have your own boundaries and you’re allowed to set those for yourself but try to keep an open mind about how others experience and feel those things as well. I’m not trying to advocate for obnoxious behavior either, there’s no excuse to loudly flaunt your sexcapades for the people in your vicinity to hear when really they want to carry on with whatever they were doing, in your case I’m sure the fellow patrons at the restaurant just wanted to finish their meals and not hear about your friends experiences. I guess my bottom line is that I think people could be more receptive to talking about sex to fuel a bigger dialogue to expand our knowledge of sex. I’ve heard too many stories of someone not understanding how the process works and feeling shame about an experience they had, by shedding light on some of this stuff I think it would benefit us and let us make more informed decisions regarding sex. And I think it’s possible to have that open dialogue while also still keeping whatever you deem sacred between you and your partner to yourselves.

I feel in any case you shouldn't talk so loudly about it in a place where kids are at but I honestly feel uncomfortable about it in general which is something I probably need to work on but I don't know any other gay people (except one person) and it's hard.
