What a great idea to do line and wash the other way around. Usually I start with the line work and then the wash, but this way it is much more painterly and spontaneously. Thank you for your great videos. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱, Linda
This is just the opposite of what I've done with pen and ink and watercolor. The lines always went in first. Never thought of reversing the process! This is something I have to try. TFS
It looks so simple... but sometimes even simple is hard! I do want to give this a go though especially as I prefer the looser and more abstract type of art in general. Also, thanks for the great colour combo! TFS :)
Sandy are you using a waterproof ink in that Twisbi? If you can believe it, i don’t have any black ink and I have several fountain pens. I use brown or blue for writing. Was thinking about the black Quink because of the way it seperates when water is added, but would also be interested in a fountain pen safe waterproof black if you have experience to recommend one.
I'm also curious about what ink you're using Sandy. I'm searching for a good waterproof black to use with my watercolors. I just bought samples of noodler's black and platinum carbon black from Goulet pens yesterday to test out. @ladyflimflam, the Goulet pens TH-cam channel just put out a video on the most water resistant fountain pen inks that you might find interesting. The Platinum carbon black was found to be most waterproof. However, even though it's fountain pen safe, it is a pigmented ink that requires a bit more pen cleaning maintenance than the more standard dye based fountain pen inks.
I like using platinum carbon black, it should be listed in the supplies - I also got some document ink that works great too. However, if you don’t watercolor on top of it, you can use any kind of ink to do the drawing part. 👍🏻🖋
@@SandyAllnock1 Thank you!! I'm sorry I didn't check the supply list first here and the blog. However, I checked after, and Carbon Black is not listed in either place, but like you pointed out, if we're drawing on top, the ink shouldn't matter! 🙂
Absolutely gorgeous!
Wowzers!! Excellent work! 😍

And you also don't have to paint inside any lines :) :) :)

It’s much easier once you get the watercolor down right-no worries about painting inside the lines 😂
I don’t know how you do it,….every class gets me excited to try. Splash-splash and voilà! A work of art. Off to try it now….
I usually paint and draw in a realistic style, but I need to broaden my horizons 🧑🎨🎨👍
WOW! These are all so lovely, but the beta fish is absolutely stunning! 😍😍😍
These are very cool❤
You have changed my life

Wow! This helps make painting much less formidable! You broke it down and make me to want to try this! Thank you for sharing and teaching us!!
This is beautiful, it looks easy enough that I feel like I can do it after not touching my watercolors for a long time, thank you.
Such a perfect exercise! Thank you for sharing!

Just love it. It's such s nice, loose way of painting. Will try with ink pen. Thanks 😊
