    Mr. Rocco, I want to give you Kudos for your videos, straight to the point, no BS added. I have a question in regards to the brake pads, I did not see you decompress the cylinder with a screw driver, did you do this just by pushing forward right before putting the pads back? Keep up the good job!

    Great! I tried to check my rear brakes of my 2011 Sportster today bu the shock was in the way and all other videos have it where the shock is nowhere near that cap. You moved the calliper sideways, how is that possible? If I can push them in towards the wheel, that would give me room to get an Allen key in but otherwise the shock doesn’t leave much room in there. Thank you!

      Happy to help try to compress it and crack the bleeder screw at the same time to release the pressure. Try not to let air back into that bleeder screw so crack it it will bleed and lock it up. See if that gives you the space you need. Let us know how it works out and sometimes you could cock the piston and that jams it up from collapsing all the way because it's not going into the hole evenly.

    Hello Rocco, I did my rear brakes on my 2004 Sportster last season no problems. But now I hear a hum when I use the rear brake or sometimes when I ride. I took the pads
    off again and look inside the caliper and see that there is a thin metal part that looks broken. I think this holds the pads and gives it the tension. Can this part be replaced? Hey, Rocco...I've heard that you can blow out the seals in the master cylinder when pressing the piston in on the caliper to make room for the new pads. I sure hope I haven't done this on my girlfriend's Sportster. How do we avoid this mistake?

    • @TwoWheelRocco
      @TwoWheelRocco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Never seen that before. if you want to be on the safe side loosen up the lid on the master cylinder. If caliper seal failed, you would have brake fluid all over the floor. It's that simple. lots of miss information out there. Thank you for watching and your support. I hope this helps. Dealers like to make things complicated. Which keeps them in business. • @TwoWheelRocco
      @TwoWheelRocco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hydraulic system stops your motorcycle to the point where you can lock up your rear wheel. That's a lot of pressure. You cannot hurt those seals. The only thing that hurts the seal is corrosion.

  • @hellkoffin

    The caliper piston on my rear break sticks too much to the point it locks the wheel even with the pads off, i cant colapse it by hand or even a flatbar, my guess is i have to remove the wheel to then remove caliper? Then examine/ colapse the piston , any suggestions or ideas on what could be causing that, when pushing break pedal it would stay locked so it woudnt spring back up

    • @TwoWheelRocco
      @TwoWheelRocco  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The caliper piston collapse uneven and now is jammed in place. Loosen master cylinder cap to relieve pressure. Look at the video Tap 5:30 Use a little oil and work the caliper piston even. Look close you will see this condition. You should be able to hold your caliper while sliding in and out. Let us know how this works out.
