- Today I'm planting Summer Wine® Black Ninebark. After planting I'll show you my Ginger Wine Ninebark and Tiny Wine Ninebark. They make beautiful lanscape plants and great foliage cut for flower arranging.
Thank you for showing other varieties of ninebark the colours are gorgeous. I have the Little Devil ninebark and even in late fall it’s leaves are beautiful.
Really good to learn this about ninebarks. I don't know much about them. Also, I LOVE the less manicure feel of your garden. I appreciate many different styles of gardening, but one of my favorites is a more naturalistic look, still with structure and planning, but just a bit of a wilder feel. So glad I found your channel.
Nice collection of ninebarks.
I’m in south east Pennsylvania and I have always found these interesting. Thank you for sharing more in depth about this shrub.
That is stunning. I put it on my shopping list. :)
Thanks for all the information when you show plants. I learn so much from each video.
So funny, I have the same combo in my garden, the Limelight, the Golden Spirea and the Summerwine Ninebark😂 Its a beautiful one!
Haha! Great gardening minds think alike!
You have a beautiful garden. I am going to add a ninebark to my garden now that you've inspired me! I just started my small flower farm this spring and have been enjoying seeing what other people are growing in their gardens.
Hi Amy! So wonderful to meet another grower! I hope you are enjoying the season so far. Did you have the crazy late frost that we experienced here in PA?
@@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens I am enjoying this beautiful season! Here in North Carolina we did have a late frost warning the first week of May. It is rare for us to have frost at that late date. Luckily, my plants all survived with row covers on a lot of the very small seedlings that I had set out in late April.
That is great to hear!
What a sweetheart!! Really nice plants too....
Very pretty 🤩
It’s color is gorgeous, I just put the “fireside “in my landscape .
Enjoying your videos, just found you today=)
I love ninebarks!
Beautiful
Beautiful 🌿💕😍
How pretty
Oh man I miss having rich soil like that. I’m in sand country now and I had to shift my gardening style to plants that like sandy soil.
Very pretty plant. I heard the deer like these as well; thought about adding a couple on the side of my property that has some deer visitors from time to time. Are the birds attracted to the Ninebark as well? Thanks for creating and sharing this informational video.
for a not so blackish dark leaf I do like the ginger wine 5-6 ft tall, wide...a slightly smaller leaf than summer wine...saw both side by side at the nursery in late july
Do you have an update how it looks now? Great video!
Do you have problems with it suckering? I'm interested in the Summer Wine or Panther. Your garden is beautiful. It looks like you have Lemony Lace Sambucus near your ninebarks--beautiful combination.
So beautiful!!
Do you fertilize your 9 bark. I love your channel. Good work.
Hi Danielle, new subscriber...I've learned a lot from your videos, thank you! I was wondering if you could please suggest the best variety of ninebark for us. We're redoing our front landscaping and have tiered river rock beds (our idea) and want a very high end look. Thought that the dark leaves would pop. The house is a light field stone. If you can, please what is the first variety that youd recommend for a neater compact shorter ninebark with that high end look? Also would you alternate another shrub in between? Or just spaced out nine barks. Thank you!
After watching this my Catalog came, and I ordered one, I think they said Diablo is the name, I couldn't resist
So beautiful❤️ will this plant grow in 🇬🇧?
I hope so I've just bought one and we live in Gateshead !
Can you add a video of how to care for this plant?😊
I've got Diablo. Its not very big yet, so can't tell you if I like it or not.
i love mine. cant find any more at lowes. they are loading up with their spring invasive garbage.
Do all the ninebark you spoke of have a weeping/fountain like appearance?
Do either one of these have fall color?
I have a black smoke bush. The leaves are falling off at the bottom, and the branches look very dry. The ends loiks healthy. Do you have any tips to get it healthy again?
I have 3 Summer Wines . The snow bends and breaks them every year . Should the ends of the branches be cut in the fall to avoid this ?
I really love your videos! Do you watch Laura of Garden Answer?
They should do a collab
Yes! She is the BEST!
@@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens YOU are just as wonderful! Not everyone can garden on 2 acres like laura. We love seeing the beauty you create in a manageable yard!
Have you ever container planted ninebarks? I live in zone 7b so I’m planning on potting mine since I don’t have the space in my landscape.
Do you have to prune them?
Sometimes I rejuvenate, but they look better weeping.
Always wanted one but just not sure where to put it...
Hi there, thanks for the vid.
What kind of soil do you have on your property and what zone do you garden into. Thanks again
Hi Jerome! I garden in 6b. Our property used to be a farmette, so I'm thankful to the previous owner for soil rich in organic matter.
Hi. thank you for the video. Can you tell me the name of the lacy, yellow/chartreuse, shrub that is to the right of the ginger ninebark at the end of the video? (it sort of looks like a tiny maple tree). Thank
Hi Debbie! I believe you're referencing the lemony lace elderberry.
@@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens Thank you very much!! I love it and I love your garden!!!!
I bought one Im about to plant and realized, Im in zone 8. Should i plant in part shade?
