Loved this Sherri! My Mom died in 1960 when I was 4. I believe my Dad dealt with his grief by going to the library each week and taking out a stack of books which he would finish by the following week. One of my fondest memories was being given permission when I was 9 or 10 to borrow from the adult section...you had to be 12. I've always been a huge reader and your video brought back so many memories. Thank you so much! ❤
@MidModMeridianASMR Thank you Sherri! We didn't know this then but reading, especially fiction, uninterrupted, has been proven to lower your stress and provide distraction from the heartaches of life. Definitely did for my Dad as a widower raising 4 girls on his own. XO
The gray cardigan and pinstripe button-down shirt are just right for our librarian friend. I grew up in my mother’s bookstore and the smell of paper and wool sweater are wonderfully evoked by this video. Thank you.
You do such a fantastic job! All your videos are so thought out and planned and well done! Your whole entire channel idea focusing on vintage is so comforting as well 😊
Sometimes I wish that--mostly bc I have so many happy memories associated with that time. ✨ But I also did a master's degree with a typewriter 😱 and let me tell you, retyping an entire thesis multiple times after revisions was not pleasant. 😂

Oh Sherri! This pleases me so since I am home to recover from surgery that hit some hiccups afterward. The 6 hr Avon compilation was a life saver for me.. be well, candy 🍭
Oh my. This is going to be utterly fabulous. My fave are ASMR library renditions. Thank you kindly, Sherri. I shall be listening early tomorrow morning. You are the absolute best! (And I had no idea until a few months ago that you were/are a PhD in literature. Such a great foundation for the ultimate in nuanced ASMR.)
New subscriber here - I just found your channel a month ago. I absolutely love your content, and your hands look like my mother’s hands (I mean this with utmost respect and admiration!). Listening to your voice and watching you fiddle with various vintage items invokes a warmth and nostalgia in me that I am truly grateful to experience. Your videos feel like a hug from my mother (also my mom’s name is Sherry, coincidentally). Thank you for all that you do!
That is such a wonderful compliment! It means a lot to me that you connect with my work in such a personal way. 🌸 The act of making these videos reminds me of my mother, too. 🥹🌺
Well, I don’t have the Wi-SCAHN-sin accent 😂😂 but I did live in Chicago for five years. Everyone used to stop me in the street when they heard my Appalachian accent.
How cool! My favorite academic library in the world is the old section of the library at Northwestern University. Got a masters degree there, and sitting there at one of the long, old tables, with the most gorgeous sunlight streaming through the windows . . . I just remember thinking how lucky I was to be there. www.library.northwestern.edu/libraries-collections/art/
yay!! i haven’t been watching youtube lately since i started my new job (my very first one ever!) since i’ve been so busy, but im so excited to lay down and fall asleep to this ❤
yes i’ve seen those!! i love them :) thankfully im working in a hospital in an inpatient setting so i dont have to deal with customers!! 😅 i wish i could sell tupperware that sounds pretty fun LOL id probably buy too much myself though 🫣
I purchased In Cold Blood after watching the movie CAPOTE. I’m not much of a reader due to low attention span, but I couldn’t put this book down. He was a genius.
Right . . . but I dated the video title based on the second edition of Catch-22. I didn’t mean for anyone to notice the titles of the other books I was handling. 😂😂 Anyway, here’s the video featuring In Cold Blood if you haven’t seen it yet. 1960s Library ✨ Retro ASMR ✨ Crinkles, Books, Stamping (Soft Spoken) th-cam.com/video/oSAi-bh-ivU/w-d-xo.html
I never had a librarian sit and tell a book is a new addition and flip through the pages to tell me its in great condition 😅 and then double check the conditions but okay 😂 also if you check the conditions prior to putting them back on the shelf. There's probably no need of telling the customer about the condition prior to checking them out and then doing a double check on the condition. Grief over kill 😅 id lose my shit trying to get a book from you. Ta ta ta ta ta today jr.

Oh my! I love hearing how your father found solace in the library and then bequeathed that practice to you. 🌺🌺🌺

I wish we could go back pre-computers. Back to paper filing and stamping and a slower pace of life.
