About to go buy this game now. Looks great. Even if the game doesn't live up to the trailer, the trailer will sell a lot of copies.

for anyone who's wondering, the voice CAN get annoying, yes, but... the game does everything to avoid that, and i think it's really worth playing
1. the game is generous by giving lifes and hearts, i saw a lot of streamers playing it and only dying sometimes. so you don't need to worry about dying a lot and hearing the saaaame lyrics again and again
2. the comedy. the game is pretty funny, i think that really helps it make it more enjoyable
3. he doesn't repeat lines, so they're all unique, he only repeats them if you die or reset the level
4. the music changes in every level and every act, the first level songs ARE a little bit similar, but in the second level, each act is completely different
5. he stops singing sometimes, for short moments, but yeah, he does, and he also stops in the bosses so you can concentrate
6. you can play it on mute (it kinda ruins the purpose of the game, but if you can pay attention to the subtitles and the game i guess it's fine)
the game can be a hit or miss and i'm sure the devs knew about that :P
if you can't stand the voice, it's fine (i love the voice actor but i agree that a cooler bard voice would be better), but if you can stand the singing, it's totally worth it
I've watched the trailer several times, hoping I'd get used to the voice, but just can't. I get that a developer sang for it, but why not get an English guy who is trained to sing or something? A great singer would've added to the hilarity of the lyrics, too. Love the concept, passing.
@@MrAfterword i agree tbh, a cooler voice, acting like a dork like the hero does would be really funny, and the dev actually CAN sing, he's making this voice for the character, i think his normal voice would be cooler, but oh well i like the game anyways, but i don't blame people who can't stand the voice
@@MrAfterword The developers of this game are originally youtubers here in Brazil, and they are both very talented comedians and musicians who composed all the melodys and lyrics of the game.
The ideia for this game came from a successful comedy video in their channel from 10 years ago and on this video both developers, the “Castro Brothers”, sing as well. But I get your point, the English version is sang by Matheus Castro using a much more satirical voice, while the Portuguese version is sang by Marcos Castro, who approaches more on a bards way of singing. Check out the songs in Portuguese.
It’s their dream and personal project, and I believe they choose to sing to demonstrate their passion for the project and to keep the project 100% Brazilian.
@@vaitetomarnocu I really wanted to give the game a chance so I watched the first 10 minutes of gameplay. Still couldn't get into the singing. Personal preference, to each their own and more power to people that love this game 😊

Actually this game got a lot of backlash partly for how repetitive it can be but also because some Brazilians hate their own culture, such as the bashing of our most common musical genres like the Funk Carioca and Pagode
None of that matters since the game is actually really good and an achievement in indie games but we're not as supportive as you think

For those who don't know, this started as a few TH-cam videos in Brazil, after they became a big hit, they decided to adapt them into an actual interactive game, and now the game was translated to english.

This game is so fun and so hilarious you are right the fact the lyrics in tbe water level is basically the hero drowning made me have to pause and laugh for like 5 minuites

This is the definition of something only an indie would do that a major dev team would not, even if there is nothing really stopping them from doing so. I mean there is definitely very specific boss battles in certain games where the boss is singing to you while you fight it. But not a full game.

The closest to this I can remember from a big studio is Child of Light from Ubisoft Montreal, there's no voice or song, but all the conversations in the game are rhymes! From begining to end, everything rhymes...

It wasn't by a specifically major team, but Drakengard 3 is the only thing I can remember that's slightly close to anything like this. This game is definitely a work of passion if every input is coded to influence the song.
Bastion and Biomutant are the only other games I can think of that have dynamic audio like this, but that's just with narration, not music. Instant buy for me with this.
Honestly the games has me interested enough to just here if his entire song in the underwater level is him gargling why doesn't he just hum or something.🤣😂

However, you need to understand that there are people who are really into collecting video games, and in the most cases games will be things that will be kept almost forever, because it will endure for generations. So I think collection objects such as video games is something that, for who is really into that, we don't need to be worried about.

I think this could encourage people, partically children getting into games, to imagine what a character is thinking and all the fun you can get from that. I often think of such a thing when playing a game myself, though having a game do it all for me is.... Questionable on my end. Nevertheless I will keep an eye on this one.
It's a really good game, don't skip on it! Definitely worth your time
this game just mostly does some quip comentary on video games tropes, its actually a quite old brazilian game (yes, someone had to translate it from portuguese to english)

The game looks charming but the gameplay looks slightly bland. I'll take a look at it at some point though.
@@cactoos9793 -- the gameplay gets quite good when you get all the equipment , like hookshots , dash and stuff , a full on 2d platformer
specially the DLCs and for you to get the secret collectables and to get to the secret bosses , love it
but ye , its very... normal in the start , and the devs didnt really show alot of what the game is capable off , specially in the movents you get later in-game
Its worth it tho , its funny and etc
and if you get annyoned by his voice , there is a option to turn it off , or you can change the VAs to the portuguese one (best one IMO , i love the english VA but he is just WAY too energetic and high pitched compared to the original one)

it's a wonderful game, even if you don't like the singing (you can turn it off on the menu). I played it so much (the Brazilian version), I finished it with the singing, than finished it again without singing, it's an unforgettable experience. Hope you like it as I did :)
