- Welcome to Lost in Random, a dark and twisted fairytale where anything can happen with the roll of a dice. Together, with your companion Dicey, you’ll battle fearsome opponents as you travel through the six shadowy realms of Random on a mission to save your sister from an evil Queen. Collect coins on your journey and trade them for powerful cards. Then, roll Dicey to freeze time in deadly dice combat and play your cards to unleash formidable attacks, abilities, combos, and more. You’ll also meet unpredictable residents and take on courageous quests as you travel deeper into the heart of Random.

This looks like a potential masterpiece to me. The art style, the story, the gameplay... I really hope I won't get disappointed. Looking forward to this game release.

The atmosphere in the game is definitely amazing, the story really gets you into it, but isn’t super convoluted and hard to understand. It reminds me of skylanders in a way, don’t know how to describe it. Fully worth checking out.
Tell me about it. I watched the Story Trailer first and was like "Visually great, but suuurely it's not just a mechanically generic platformer merely _aesthetically_ themed around dice..." But this gameplay footage goes beyond even hopeful expectation for a little gimmick. It looks so dynamic. I did not expect such an impressive looking game by a _random_ (lol) studio named "Zoink."
This gives me both Nightmare before Christmas and Alice Madness Returns vibes

The narrator seemed to have a lot of fun with this.
He’s giving me Halloween David Attenborough vibes.
that has to be the same narrator as the one in Flipping Death.
I believe that the game could have been scripted fully before a certain hobbit game came out. In that hobbit game the narrator dies, and the script very clearly says "I do not know what exactly happens when the narrator dies, and I do not want to know." I found a interview talking about a game that could have been fully scripted prior to the hobbit title, but they were not fully sure if it was fully completed or even started.
I definitely found some footage of it on TH-cam back in the day as well.
This is one of the most creative looking games I've seen in a while.

@@crowmaster9652 no its developed by Zoinks. They've made other adventure games before which are both on the switch, and also both have a Burton-esque style. I'd recommend them both if you're interested
Mix between Nightmare Before Christmas, Amercan McGee's Alice, and Pyschonauts. Looks pretty incredible.
It also has some MediEvil vibe in my opinion :)

This game honestly though, looks made to edited together for viewing pleasure versus actually playing the game to see how the fights actually are according to your skill.
Tim Burton then Psychonauts of course, are the first two inspirations I thought of. The comparison to American McGee's Alice and the fact that it has card game mechanics merged with classic 3rd person combat pushes me over the edge I think.
Card game mixed with combat seems like my type of style and overall the look of the game gives me Laika and Ardman studio claymation vibes.
Have we learned nothing from chain of memories....

This game at least 3 years in the making, so it might be unlikely that there is more games like this. Cris Tales took 5 years to develop from 2016 to 2021; They confirmed it with the items that were included with the digital goods that came with the purchase of the collector's edition.
They already said already that they only talk about information about what want to talk about completely in different locations where they think that the public will never think to look, so maybe another game is in the works considering that the build that we legally accessed had more save files on it than what was publicly released. All of the companies also have a lot of money individually as well to contribute to another fund if they chose to make another game style like this.

Although I'm not into card games, I'd give this one a try. It looks pretty cool.
The gameplay should differ based on what number that the dice is on when you are in certain towns.
The fact that these devs are putting familiar mechanics together in such a new and refreshing way (to me) is almost enough on its own to make me want to buy this, just to support their efforts at attempting something a little different.

Ok this is interesting, I was expecting from the thumbnail something like Little Nightmares, but it's actually something different and honestly my kind of game

Unfortunately it's not. Game looks a little blurry in handheld but it's playable and fun.

I love this hybrid combat system. Not to mention the art style is gorgeous in a dark and whimsical kind of way. Definitely a buy for me

Unfortunately they said prior to the public release of the game that they did not have enough money as of then in the predetermined funds to make a physical copy of the game. They may be different now, but they may have also only placed the physical copy if they did end up making it; somewhere online where they that the general public will not think to look as well. They already said that they do not like communicating where everyone can see what you are talking about. The game could also maybe only be a digital download to your SD card as well depending how they might have made up their minds as well. The hardware did already apparently exist by the time that the Nintendo 3DS was already out, and I actually saw it multiple different times online.

It looks like the company put out early builds of the game out through the Playstation store for private feedback of the game. It was probably the case, since we played the very beginning of part of the game only before being halted to review it. It was about a few years ago when it happened.

My best attempt at the genre based on these trailers: It's like Hand of Fate and Munchkin shuffled their cards together for an adventure game.

I could never get into card games, but the fact this mixes deck building with action based combat does sound really fun
Plan the cards out in your deck wisely. In the later part of the game, there is an enemy that is coded to be able move when time is frozen.

I always thought it would be amazing to see a game world based on board games. I'm really happy to see that idea being realized!
That idea was already thought of before we even played the small section of the game that we played.
I believe that the idea was finalized 6 to 9 months before they wanted to do test runs with the public.
I believe that they even mentioned NOT TO COMMENT exactly what they said about it to avoid it being potentially viewed the wrong way as well, maybe I guess considering how aware they are PUBLICLY stating PRIVATELY that they do not TRUST social media for talking about their ideas as well!!!!
