As an 11 year old in Queens 1990-91, i became a huge Domi fan. Every picture in the NY Post, Daily News, Newsday of Domi went on my wall. Hockey was MUCH watch TV back then. Teams hated each other and the rivalries were so intense. I miss that era so much.
    Great Interview Boys!!!!

Thanks Chris & Tim. Domi was such a cool player to watch when I grew up in the 90s.
He was an enigma to me, a mysterious and fascinatingly violent player who would do anything out there on the ice.
He fought Gino Odjick in a Memorial Cup game 😄and that's the way he continued to play for a decade and a half. Incredible longevity to do what he did. I loved it.
And towards the end of his career I got the chance to see him play in Sweden during the '04-'05 lockout. I'll never forget it. Watching Tie during the pre-game warmup was like watching one of the Gods of the enforcers out there. He looked so menacing and intimidating.
He had 3 points that game if I recall correctly, and was voted first star of the game.

All the fights Domi lost (which were many), he never lost bad, and never really got hurt badly. And at 5'10 and 200lb, that's amazing. The fights with Rob Ray were amazing. And Ray was bigger than people thought at 6 or 6'1 and 220. Domi is all heart and had decent skill. Great player going against players much taller and heavier constantly.

I believe Tie when he says he just wanted to win!
Growing up a Sens fan in the hay day of the battle of Ontario, Tie had countless timely goals.
He provided what his team needed at all times. I loved to hate him!
Can't thank him enough for his contributions to the game.

Tie is a beauty. I hope Tie corrects me if I have this story wrong....I remember when he got drafted by the leafs....he and John Kordic fought in training camp....in Newmarket I think it was. The story goes that John won the fight but broke his hand on Tie's head so John went on the DL and Tie got his shot with the big club.
Also, I think at one point I think he was the fastest skater on the leafs. Great forechecker and underrated player
You are right Tie...that Neidermayer game was the best game of your career. I watched it on TV and Harry Neal said the same thing.

When I play NHL video games, I always compile a team of enforcers. Nilan and Domi are ALWAYS on it, along with Probert and McSorley (Probert is a first line scoring threat). Usually I get Joey Kocur, Rob Ray, Dave Schultz, Bryan Marchment, Larry Playfair, and Garth Butcher as well. In season mode, the goal is to win the Stanley Cup while seeing if I can compile 5,000 team penalty minutes in a season.

Tie said a lot of good things about Bob Probert. He was a gladiator, I remember a game in Junior A where Bob tangled with Guelph player Bill Loshaw, nicknamed Bonecrusher later in his career. Loshaw was only 16 and Bob 20 and I don't think Bob really wanted to fight but Billy insisted. They had a brief bout where one of Billy's overhand rights caught Bob. They sat in the penalty box and things got heated. When they left the box they just went at it again. This time Bob was pretty angry and ready to fight, forgot the rookie status, punching Billy into submission. Sometimes he took no prisoners.

    - Tie Domi not wanting to talk about fighting is like having Albert Einstein on your podcast and he doesn't want to talk about physics.
    - The elbow on Neidermayer cost Toronto the series, and NO Tie didn't fight Jim McKenzie in the first game back the next season. He turtled and McKenzie picked up a game misconduct after pummeling him.
    - I wish Chris would have asked Tie about his fight with Brian McGrattan and the aftermath of Tie whining to the media that Nathan Perrott should have been the one to fight Gratts.

No man I have a book on what it’s like to fight job probert like o said Bernie nichols played with domi on the rangers that night he fought probert and it’s quoted by many others to that domis head was so swollen that he had a hard time putting his helmet on. This isn’t even ptobert talking! But even probert knew cuz the trainers told probert he had ice ps is in during the intermission. I mean cons on man why I post non sense! It’s like saying probert never got hurt! I’m 100 percent sure domi has cte! Easily!!! Seeing as he had the most penalty minutes out of any fighter. He got whooped many times too! I mean I grew up with probert but I’m not a biased person. Probert had his fair share of losses. But what made him the greatest was that he had the best fight card out of anyone! If he lost he was going avenge that loss. I mean u do know he fought domi 9 times abd6 of those fights he won. Some rather decisively! Brown also put a bad beating on domi and ray! So anyways. Idk where ur getting the info that domi was never hurt! He’s just to stubborn to admit it! Hurts his ego! I mean he even lies about the probert fight. Saying Bob dropped his gloves first and started wailing on him. When in fact it was domi who dropped the gloves first! Then he talks about how he didn’t get hit at the end ti get knocked down by Bob! So domi is the biggest full of shit statement s I ever heard. But if u why a pic of the article I’ll send it to u buy it’s very true! Domis teammate isn’t going to lie! I mean what does he gain out of it?!

Can’t stand the 🍁’s, but I’ve always respected Tie Domi’s toughness.

Is Mark Wahlberg lost his mind please tell me that he was joking when he said he wanted to fight Ty ty, he's either got a good mind for comedy or a very warped view of reality, actors are there funniest sometimes when they are off screen it was funny how neither tiy domi nor Chris nylon even gave it a response

I don't think the fighting rule in junior hockey is the best decision. Because in the pros there is nothing worse than getting a new guy with out the heart to take care of a bully.

I’m surprised they didn’t mention this in the interview but these two had a run in at msg. They both got matching minors and in the box Tie was mocking knuckles calling him an old man and using his stick like it was a crutch to hobble around the penalty box. Anyone remember that?, I sure do..
