    *We just retired a 10 year old Keurig, similar to the new one **MyBest.Kitchen** the old one had a LCD display, but this new one seems like it is a little better as far as features. Turn it on, load it up, press the button and wait for the cup to fill. Much quieter than the old one. The amount*

    purge without covering the wand. Wipe then purge. tip from an espresso machine mechanic. When covering while purging not all the milk comes out and gets trapped inside.

      Exactly. So flush the line with a cup under the steamer. My question is that my steamed milk comes out watered down from the steam? What am I doing wrong?

  • @Testing-kx5vs

    Good, but there are gaps in the instructions. How much milk is in the pitcher? How long (in seconds are you doing each phase). Technical directions need to be explicit in even obvious areas.

    • @BabePandahh
      @BabePandahh 10 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      These things are specific to the store that youre working for. Cup sizes can vary, even when its under the same name. The duration of each phase is different also depending on the machine. At my family restaurant, our machine takes at least twice as long to heat up the coffee as this machine. I've never seen a machine as fast as this one before, and I'm ALWAYS having coffee.
      Though we always would want to most information as possible from to do videos, some things are just to broad to give a super detailed explanation =)

    • @Testing-kx5vs
      @Testing-kx5vs 10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Kitty Vo Yes, I agree, and those are aspects of my point. These are the little details that need to be covered. You don't need to actually *perform* all of the versions, but you need to explain that the little versions exists. That's how to write instructions.

      @Lassenissen 9 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      +Testing123 I started working at a cafe not many months ago and I'm slowly getting the hang of the barista machine, particulary steaming and pouring milk.
      My boss told me that to know when the milk is done and the right temp, you hold your hand on the side of the pitcher, and once it gets uncomfortably hot, just before it starts hurting, the milk is done steaming.

    • @wanderingtmp
      @wanderingtmp 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Testing123 I agree. Also how much water is in the machine reservoir to produce the steam? I don't work in a coffee shop, I'm doing this at home (and using a much smaller machine) so even those things that seem obvious are helpful for us newbies.

    • @ryanprior1294
      @ryanprior1294 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm a volunteer barista who is doing the milk what the guy meant was how much milk he was putting in the hug and he is right the bottom of the spout should it be poured upto otherwise you could spill your milk if too much or you will probably have tainted coffee if it goes under so you are meant to pour the mile to the inside bottom on the handle layout

    • @TheSevenS1207
      @TheSevenS1207 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      just let the purge wand burried inside the milk. you won't heard the sound anymore. you heard it because the tips of the wand still opened to air. so you need to take the purge wand deep into the milk.

      Put air into it until it gets to 40 degrees then bring up the pitcher and create the vortex and stop at 60 degrees bang the pitcher 3/4 times on the work top and swirl it and pour from the side of your pitcher not the nozzle of it you can get thermometers to stick on the side of the pitcher to measure the temperature

    So the tip of my machine's wand is one of those old-fashioned teflon cylinders with two tiny circles opposite each other, halfway. Should I employ the exact same method we learn in this video? i.e. Start by placing the tip of the wand on the surface of the milk and gradually go deeper? One mechanic said that with those old-fashioned wand tips, we should do the exact opposite. All suggestions welcome. Thanks!
