It's mindblowing to me how expensive are the houses in the US, with interior walls made of wood and card boxes. Does nobody build houses with bricks or blocks in the interior walls? Does anyone build reinforced concrete roofs instead of those made of wood and shingles?
Totally agree americans want the massive two story houses with master bedrooms the size of living rooms ,They install (Basements) living areas under natural ground level and wonder why there are so many foundation and drainage problems as the house ages ,The insurances are so high for the reasons you stated,Build more concrete and brick into homes for structural strength instead of spending it on massive concrete driveways for show ,Too many states with different building codes and insurance companies going broke
It is very rare to find interior walls (called partitions) made of brick or block in houses in the US. Wood or metal studs with gypsum board is the most common solution. That does not mean that the houses are less rigid, it just means that the stronger materials are reserved for the exterior, where they protect the house from exterior hazards. Makin the partitions like that (instead of brick or block) is convenient for the homeowner, to make modifications to the layout, if necessary. For accoustical privacy, the partitions can be filled with batt insulation.
Hi Troy 👋🏼 Thank you for the tour of this house. I Love checking out new construction. I’ve read many bad reports regarding this company but apparently this manager actually cares about his work. Blessings, Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊❗️
22:23 The name of what you are talking about is vertical reinforcement. Concrete is poured vertically in the cells that coincide with the location of dowels, usually every 4 feet or 4'-8" (or as indicated in the structural drawings), and also on the jambs of openings. A lintel is a horizontal element spanning over openings, connected at the ends to the vertical reinforcement.
You might want to spend some time investigating Florida. Insurance is skyhigh and they are having an increasing pollution problem. Florida is a red state and consumer protections are few.
DR Horton guy said the inspectors check from the first step, plumbing, electricity Walls Roof frames why D R Horton's new house buyers have a lot of problems when they move in
I'm to passionate about construction to build the same model home over and over and over again, i wish people understood disadvantages to run electrical wiring without conduits as it greatly outweighs the initial extra cost
I have heard some horror stories of Dr Horton houses on TH-cam. When I looked at Dr Horton houses in Brandon Florida I found them to be too small so that turn me off. But Dr Horton does have nice kitchens.
look at all the mold on the trusses. It's not a 2-story bunker. The real reason for no attic storage is because the trusses are 2x4s and can't support any weight. your ceiling will sag. Their roofs are wavy before the shingles go on.
Looks like this is not about someone building his own house. These are production homes, aka tract homes. Cheap mass production. If you build your own house, you’ll do it differently.
so this contractor is telling us the house in this area are only termite treated up to 2.5feet, termites can fly right? here when we build a house any timber used is termite treated from the supplier as we also use non treated timber for shoring and boxing
I'm planning on moving to Florida to start my own drywall finish an painting company I'm really awesome at my job an tire of working for someone. Any suggestions?
However the Insurance, and taxes, HOA fees ect.ect. Chinese drywall had people walking away from the bank for mold issues. Not cost effective. Recession Joe is now becoming Depression Joe.
This house looks like a hot mess. The guy you are talking to in the video has no idea what he is talking about. I'd have some concerns if this was my new build lol. Stay away from DR Horton!
Can't believe they cant even treat the whole length of timber for termites ,Sad they cant use brick instead of that shit timber because they would rather the big kitchen
you found a great builder for giving the tour;, knowledgable, forthcoming with the info and talked FAST !
Glad you liked it!
Thank you, I look forward to chatting with you about lot options and best locations.
I was hesitant to continue watching because it's D R Horton, but the supervisor that gave the tour is really knowledgeable, good information 👍

I like that it didn't have vaulted ceilings.
I never knew that word scuttle as attic access opening. Interesting interview.

Thank you so much, Mr Troy, for doing this! My daughter and I are from SOCAL, too, but we’re coming to Florida.

Thank you!
Steve, have you seen my other videos. I cover a lot of what you mentioned. Best.

New Home building is brisk especially in the retirement areas. I have been to Bradenton, Nice. A Block home essential in Fl.

This guy has the gift of gab ! 😊

Hi Troy I just started following you. We are looking for a new construction home that has NO HOA and CDD fees. Are you able to help
us find this ?
Any luck yet?
check out GL Homes - for that, they are tier 2 builder
so this contractor is telling us the house in this area are only termite treated up to 2.5feet, termites can fly right? here when we build a house any timber used is termite treated from the supplier as we also use non treated timber for shoring and boxing
Stay away from the Lennar Landmines. They are the worst builder in all of Florida.
These are good things to know
Why would the warranty be voided if the buyer subfloored the attic?
Per the terms of the warranty -
I want a home in the villages
would like to know more about builders -
Cardboard house!
so they basically build home packages to their design, instead of anyone walking in with their personal design

If you have a Strong Work Ethic, you will Crush It! ... Most people move to Florida to slow down.
@FloridaRealEstateInsight

Wired smoke detector in new construction!

Built-in walk in tub
Good Lord too much Wood for for Florida Bog Rip Off"!!
I can't hear anything and it feels like there's no structure to the video. I didn't come away with a payoff of knowledge.
I'm paying cash only

any good city should inspect if they value their taxpayers lives
Dont buy in Florida
I,ve seen more tiny houses with more wow factor than that house ,They might as well build them in a factory and transport them in
Can't believe they cant even treat the whole length of timber for termites ,Sad they cant use brick instead of that shit timber because they would rather the big kitchen
We are on the same page. A lot more money goes into the "Bling" instead of the structure itself.
