    It's taking me longer to seam the sweater I am working on than it took to knit the individual pieces!!! I've been trying to find a seam I can live with for a month. This technique looks like a winner. I believe the crocheted seam also has the advantage of ripping out easier. Thanks for your clear instruction and the great camera work!

    Thank you very much for teaching me how to knit two pieces together. I have two Afghans that were crocheted for my daughter and grandson and they want them together so they can both get warm while watching tv. Cuddletime...

    Thanks Anna! I’ve seen other joining videos that over-complicated things and confused me such that I ended up with an ugly thick seam. But I just used your method today (needle) and it’s turned out perfect and smooth! Thanks!

    Thank you so much!!! I was looking for an easier way to sew my leg warmers closed. I love the technique of slipping the stitch to make a braid at the end of each row. Gonna start now!!!

      I thought about making legwarmers and using double-pointed needles. However, I know how to sew by hand better than use those complicated needles. I think this is a better way!

    I'm making a colour block baby blanket and each edge I did 2 knits and the rest purl, so this should look really neat when I join them all together. I also purchased a contrasting colour to join the seams in case I wanted to do a basic blanket stitch but I prefer this way. I'll try it and see how it comes out with the needle method. I'm all thumbs with a crochet hook.

    This is a great tutorial, but how do you make that braided edge on your samples?

    • @naya3253
      @naya3253 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      it happens naturally on stockinette stitch, casting off also leaves a braided edge

  • @soulfulD42
    @soulfulD42 ปีที่แล้ว

    But what happens if you don't have the tail end of the yarn as shown? I cast off and cut the remaining ends of my project

    When you are kniting you slip the first stitch (in order to create the braid) but... what do you do with the last stitch of the road? Do you purl it or knit it? Thanks for your video

    • @ted1bates
      @ted1bates 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Slip the first stitch purl-wise, knit the last stitch. 🙂

    • @saralaspeaks
      @saralaspeaks 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The way I do it to get the same effect is to knit the first stitch on the right side of your work (front) through the back loop and knit the last stitch of the right side as normal; then slip the first and last stitches of the wrong side (back) purl-wise.
