What I love about this is the way it’s shown. They don’t tuck their tails as soon as Owen shows up but they don’t jump him either. The fact that he’s been in charge since they were born is powerful. They seem to be aware of how easily they could jump all over him but also that he would somehow punish them if they did.
I love how they didn’t minimize how dangerous the raptors are. They didn’t make them little pets for Owen. Yeah, they listen to him but not always and he’s always in danger
It’s the same reason why keepers at AZA accredited zoos who work with dangerous animals don’t go in the same space with them. They may get along with the keepers, but they’re still unpredictable wild animals that can be dangerous.
I love how Echo is hissing at the scrawny kid and walking by slowly as if say "You won't be so lucky next time boi - watch yourself" before enforcing that threat by sticking her nose in between the bars 😂😂😂

The catwalk might be find but something dangling off it, even slightly, would probably be within reach. Especially if that something is a panicy human flailing their arms and legs about. A better idea would be to make sure the raptors are safely contained before doing any work in the pen.
The kid made the mistake of trying to catch the pig. Granted Pork is very expensive, but that's after it's been processed. If I was in that position I would have just let them have it and say "That's your treat for the day."

The movie had flaws, but is because of scenes like this that I like it. I love this scene. The score is pretty good. The CGI for once actually looks beleavable and Chris Pratt's acting works really well.

These creatures from this universe hunted humans as prey and hunted humans for sports! That idea of taming JP raptors is extremely stupid as the raptors from the film series have been confirmed to be extremely dangerous. They have never been friends and they never will be (you'll see why when you see the 1st film). Delta, Charlie, and Blue held Owens attention from the front, while echo sneaks in from the side.

It’d likely be Foxy (Foxtrot) if it was another female raptor, seeing as 3/4 of them are named after the NATO phonetic alphabet (Blue being the exception, since Bravo probably doesn’t sound as feminine, also possibly because she’s closest to Owen and therefore got a more personalized name).
Well there was a fifth raptor but unlike the others she had to be put down because she was incredibly agressive towards anyone including her sisters. Harsh but cant say I blame them. The raptors of the original park where just as agressive to the point that the alpha of that pack killed some of her siblings to stablish dominance,if that one did the same and killed blue who was the one most compliant with the caretakers, they would had been unable to continue the project
Some people have an issue with how the Raptors act here vs how they act later in the movie, but I just had a thought that could explain the difference in behavior: The Raptors are used to be fed like earlier in the movie, with Owen throwing their food from the top of the pen to them. The worker fell down from there into their pen, which the Raptors immediately associate with food. This is why they immediately went for the worker to eat him, they thought he was their dinner. When Owen gets into the cage to save the worker, in the Raptors' mind, he's actively taking their food away, and any pet owner knows, you do NOT take away food when your pet is about to eat/eating. Even the friendliest of dogs would get angry at that. So that's what happening here with Owen and the Raptors as well. They don't attack Owen immediately because he's their Alpha, but as we've seen before, Raptors will fight and bicker amongst themselves where food is concerned. Owen is, again in their mind, hogging all the food for himself, which is why the Raptors pounce towards him, they want to challenge him for their piece of food. Later in the movie, these issues aren't present, which is why the Raptors act differently and more behaved.
The way I saw it was that Owen has a bond with them not only because he raised them and is the alpha, but because he knows that he doesn’t have any control over them. Zookeepers at accredited zoos know it as well and they never share the same space with any of the dangerous animals because they know wild animals are unpredictable. They may have a bond with the animals, but they have no control over what the animal will choose to do.
Well not only has he positioned himself as the Alpha of the pack, but they imprinted on him when they hatched, so they all think Owen is their mother. Now neither of these guarantees his ability to interact with/control them safely/successfully, pack animals will challenge the Alpha for dominance if they sense weakness and they don't necessarily always do what their mother wants any more than humans do. Notably as we see, despite the years of training Owen has put into the Raptor Squad, the only other human they hesitate to attack is Barry, who has been assisting Owen in raising them since they were hatchlings and they don't obey Barry, they just don't attack him. Which all adds to why weaponising them was a really stupid idea because it took years to get even the degree of control that Owen has and that is entirely not-transferable.
I volunteer at a zoo and know that zookeepers never let people get close for a good reason. When it comes to potentially dangerous animals, even they are never in the same space with the animals and also know that they have no control over them.
1:00 This dude is crossing his arms like hes watching a boxing match or something when he could be about to witness a man being torn to shreds and eaten alive by a group of deadly velociraptors.
Through out the movie this dude made me laugh like hell because the way he treats those animals and when the friend of Owen said "he only sees what he wants, I mean what he wants to eat" I literally knew that he will be killed by that raptor... And there were few scenes where this man tried to make fun with lowery in the control room
This scene is really realistic in how it potrays working with large predators. In zoos, Zookeepers can't just walk up to the animal and pat them on the head like a dog. They have to be careful. Especially people who work with pack animals like wolves, which are always looking for a chance to usurp the alpha and take charge. If a keeper's body language happens to change too much, then those wolves will rip him apart. Training large carnivores takes a lot of discilpline, and years of interaction with that animal, so it's really cool to see how realistically the movie shows this
I’m so proud of Chris and his role in this movie. I’m a huge Jurassic park fan and I was very impressed with him. I pray the new movie coming out is awesome since the original cast mates will be in it!!!
Echo was actually eating the pig when this was happening, then she appeared at 1:15 on the far right, then when the gate closes and she hits the cage, she goes to the direction where she came from, which is where the pig is.

I loved this movie, Chris Pratt being the raptor whisperer and his bond with Blue. And how ultimately through the film that the Dinos are seen and treated like the ANIMALS they are, animals who need to be saved and not these giant monsters to run from without a thought of what’s going to happen to them. I’m cried so much towards the end and ultimately ….cheered!! Bad guys getting what they deserve in such a poetic way.
@@Aurilion44 If I remember right one died from a rocket launcher when they attacked the soldiers. Two died from Indominus during the final fight. First got thrown into a fire, second just got bitten and thrown aside. Only Blu survived the whole movie.
The raptors have always had the most expansive and greatest vocalizations, goes along with their higher intelligence. My personal favorite since way back in JP1 has always been that coughing bark "hey guys, get your tails over here" sound. They put a lot of work into making it sound realistically like a rudimentary language.
Blue and the others were challenging Owen. Even though he raised them from eggs, you can't truly 100% trust those dinos. He's lucky Blue had enough respect to back off a bit before chsrging.

Well, after I watch Fallen Kingdom. I see why is Blue is so aggressive in this scene. She must act tough to show her fellow sisters who's the boss here.
Owen's quite a tough guy here, isn't he? He tells the Raptors to stand down/back up. When one of them (I think Blue) snaps at him, he raises his voice: "Hey! Hey! What'd I just say?" I can't help but feel like he's disciplining children with his voice like that in this scene. Do you know anyone else who would yell back at a Raptor that snaps at him/her?
And yet, he won't adopt Blue at the end after she fought with the T-Rex against Indominus Rex. If he raises them like children, he should adopt them (whoever's left) and take care of them like children. That's why the ending is too sad for me when he shakes his head at Blue and she runs away. It's like he's abandoning his "children".

One thing I loved about this movie was that it struck a kind of balance between the first and that God-awful second movie when it comes to the dinosaurs. They aren't monsters who aren't meant to co-exist with us but neither are they heavenly beings that humans can only hurt. They are wild animals, worthy of respect. Respect for their well being and respect for how dangerous they are.
+Anthony Clay (Steel Accord) I do like the second movie quite a bit, but I do agree this movie knew how to treat the raptors as wild animals, because the concept of trained raptors is easy to hate until you realize 1) they are not trained, and 2) they are vicious creatures that, treated in the wrong way, will rip your head off and feat on your guts. That alone is better than anything on the joke that was JPIII.
If the "raptors" were really so social like they are portrayed in JP franchise it would actually be possible to train them to follow a human since their "childhood", same as you can train a pack of dogs or wolves.

these raptors are a bit too smart to follow a human unless they got a really good reason to. in the movie it proves that raptors value strength quite highly, it's a simple fact that on the pure ground of raw strength, raptor overpower human easily. so unless their trainer can wrestle them into submission, anytime anywhere, and maintain his/her status as alpha, raptor can never truly be trained to follow order like how dog would.
Ok but the raptor growling at the kid through the cage was adorable. Reminds me of my little pup when hes mad at me for putting him in his kennel so we can go grocery shopping.

Well in this one they kinda did. When everything was going wrong in the park, the Raptors were still held up. If it wasn't for the screenwriters giving the Indominus the ability to talk to Raptors, they would have worked in their favor.
“Put 12 amps into these animals and they’re never gonna trust me again!” Yeah, no kidding, because that amount of current would stop their heart in a microsecond.
That's kind of part of the point. He's raised them himself from the day each member hatched. They respect him as their "dad", and thus trust him. If you shock even ONE with that much power, he would have lost the loyalty of the pack. And because he insured they didn't get hurt, they came to not ever really turn on HIM. They turned on Hoskins' men, but not Owen and Barry and Claire and the kids. Blue stopped her attack on Barry when she recognized his voice. Delta was DEFENDING Owen, Claire, and the kids from Hoskins. Charlie died by rocket...after seeing Owen and thinking about going back to him. When the Raptors first spoke with the I-Rex, they look at Owen first, looking for direction from him. They must have thought they were doing what he wanted from them. People get so caught up in the "betrayal" of the Raptor Squad that they underestimate the raptor's loyalty to Owen.
I love Chris’ role in jurrasic world because he’s taken seriously. In most other movies he’s in, he’s either comic relief, made fun of, or both.

Some people have an issue with how the Raptors act here vs how they act later in the movie, but I just had a thought that could explain the difference in behavior:
The Raptors are used to be fed like earlier in the movie, with Owen throwing their food from the top of the pen to them. The worker fell down from there into their pen, which the Raptors immediately associate with food. This is why they immediately went for the worker to eat him, they thought he was their dinner.
When Owen gets into the cage to save the worker, in the Raptors' mind, he's actively taking their food away, and any pet owner knows, you do NOT take away food when your pet is about to eat/eating. Even the friendliest of dogs would get angry at that.
So that's what happening here with Owen and the Raptors as well. They don't attack Owen immediately because he's their Alpha, but as we've seen before, Raptors will fight and bicker amongst themselves where food is concerned. Owen is, again in their mind, hogging all the food for himself, which is why the Raptors pounce towards him, they want to challenge him for their piece of food.
Later in the movie, these issues aren't present, which is why the Raptors act differently and more behaved.
The way I saw it was that Owen has a bond with them not only because he raised them and is the alpha, but because he knows that he doesn’t have any control over them. Zookeepers at accredited zoos know it as well and they never share the same space with any of the dangerous animals because they know wild animals are unpredictable. They may have a bond with the animals, but they have no control over what the animal will choose to do.
They do seem to be pissy like: " Dad, we're hungry! What the hell!!"

I’m still amazed that they actually listened to Owen like they wanted to attack but there seems to be a mutual respect for him
Well not only has he positioned himself as the Alpha of the pack, but they imprinted on him when they hatched, so they all think Owen is their mother. Now neither of these guarantees his ability to interact with/control them safely/successfully, pack animals will challenge the Alpha for dominance if they sense weakness and they don't necessarily always do what their mother wants any more than humans do.
Notably as we see, despite the years of training Owen has put into the Raptor Squad, the only other human they hesitate to attack is Barry, who has been assisting Owen in raising them since they were hatchlings and they don't obey Barry, they just don't attack him.
Which all adds to why weaponising them was a really stupid idea because it took years to get even the degree of control that Owen has and that is entirely not-transferable.
I volunteer at a zoo and know that zookeepers never let people get close for a good reason. When it comes to potentially dangerous animals, even they are never in the same space with the animals and also know that they have no control over them.

Through out the movie this dude made me laugh like hell because the way he treats those animals and when the friend of Owen said "he only sees what he wants, I mean what he wants to eat" I literally knew that he will be killed by that raptor... And there were few scenes where this man tried to make fun with lowery in the control room
This scene is really realistic in how it potrays working with large predators. In zoos, Zookeepers can't just walk up to the animal and pat them on the head like a dog. They have to be careful. Especially people who work with pack animals like wolves, which are always looking for a chance to usurp the alpha and take charge. If a keeper's body language happens to change too much, then those wolves will rip him apart. Training large carnivores takes a lot of discilpline, and years of interaction with that animal, so it's really cool to see how realistically the movie shows this

I loved this movie, Chris Pratt being the raptor whisperer and his bond with Blue. And how ultimately through the film that the Dinos are seen and treated like the ANIMALS they are, animals who need to be saved and not these giant monsters to run from without a thought of what’s going to happen to them. I’m cried so much towards the end and ultimately ….cheered!! Bad guys getting what they deserve in such a poetic way.

The raptors have always had the most expansive and greatest vocalizations, goes along with their higher intelligence. My personal favorite since way back in JP1 has always been that coughing bark "hey guys, get your tails over here" sound. They put a lot of work into making it sound realistically like a rudimentary language.

Well, after I watch Fallen Kingdom. I see why is Blue is so aggressive in this scene. She must act tough to show her fellow sisters who's the boss here.

Owen's quite a tough guy here, isn't he? He tells the Raptors to stand down/back up. When one of them (I think Blue) snaps at him, he raises his voice: "Hey! Hey! What'd I just say?" I can't help but feel like he's disciplining children with his voice like that in this scene. Do you know anyone else who would yell back at a Raptor that snaps at him/her?

And yet, he won't adopt Blue at the end after she fought with the T-Rex against Indominus Rex. If he raises them like children, he should adopt them (whoever's left) and take care of them like children. That's why the ending is too sad for me when he shakes his head at Blue and she runs away. It's like he's abandoning his "children".

Love this movie! Chris Pratt is one handsome man.
One thing I loved about this movie was that it struck a kind of balance between the first and that God-awful second movie when it comes to the dinosaurs. They aren't monsters who aren't meant to co-exist with us but neither are they heavenly beings that humans can only hurt. They are wild animals, worthy of respect. Respect for their well being and respect for how dangerous they are.
+Anthony Clay (Steel Accord) I do like the second movie quite a bit, but I do agree this movie knew how to treat the raptors as wild animals, because the concept of trained raptors is easy to hate until you realize 1) they are not trained, and 2) they are vicious creatures that, treated in the wrong way, will rip your head off and feat on your guts. That alone is better than anything on the joke that was JPIII.
If the "raptors" were really so social like they are portrayed in JP franchise it would actually be possible to train them to follow a human since their "childhood", same as you can train a pack of dogs or wolves.

You can if you are extremely skilled get to a stage where they won't attack you if you interact with them - but you can't tell them what to do or train them. They're too wild. Dogs have a thousand years of domestication in their genes - its different.

Never mentioned taming. I wrote about training. You can train elephants, horses and even wolves. I didn't say they will not bite you back, but they can definitely be trained to follow a human leader.
these raptors are a bit too smart to follow a human unless they got a really good reason to. in the movie it proves that raptors value strength quite highly, it's a simple fact that on the pure ground of raw strength, raptor overpower human easily. so unless their trainer can wrestle them into submission, anytime anywhere, and maintain his/her status as alpha, raptor can never truly be trained to follow order like how dog would.

Yeah, no kidding, because that amount of current would stop their heart in a microsecond.
That's kind of part of the point. He's raised them himself from the day each member hatched. They respect him as their "dad", and thus trust him. If you shock even ONE with that much power, he would have lost the loyalty of the pack. And because he insured they didn't get hurt, they came to not ever really turn on HIM. They turned on Hoskins' men, but not Owen and Barry and Claire and the kids. Blue stopped her attack on Barry when she recognized his voice. Delta was DEFENDING Owen, Claire, and the kids from Hoskins. Charlie died by rocket...after seeing Owen and thinking about going back to him. When the Raptors first spoke with the I-Rex, they look at Owen first, looking for direction from him. They must have thought they were doing what he wanted from them. People get so caught up in the "betrayal" of the Raptor Squad that they underestimate the raptor's loyalty to Owen.
This movie has gotten better with time... at first I didn't like it so much but now these scenes are becoming just as iconic as the original.
I got to ask if Chris Pratt is playing Mario then why aren’t people using Owen Grady saying the raptors are Yoshi?
