Thanks for making this video. I love them. It’s amazing how small things in life we homeowners overlook. I’ll definitely check mine. Thanks for the video. Keep them coming.😊
Hi, Cant really blame the birds. They just looking for a nice warm spot to raise some babies...Pity it has to be in a dryer vent though..lol Stay Safe from a Tasmanian Watcher ❤️🙏👍🤗
TAS!!!! I can't blame them as well!!! I always said if I were to ever become homeless, folks better watch their crawl space bc I'm moving in, LOL!!! You stay safe as well TAS! THANK YOU!!!
I was blown away by that bird nest. I was wondering how the birds could withstand the wind and heat from the dryer but looks like the birds took care of that problem by stuffing even more nesting material in there. Since the vent is so high up, the people really had no idea there was a vent problem. Great clean up job. Enjoyed watching from Georgia.
People also need to remember that with block like this, they need to open up there dryer and clean the lent on inside as well. That is big part why dryer fires, happen, built up lent inside the dryer that is never cleaned out.
I’ve cleared out vents with birds still in them and unhatched eggs. The worst ones are those that are all flex duct, nothing rigid. They don’t take too kindly to rotating brushes!
You ain't lying! North Carolina is a "bird sanctuary" therefore if it's an active nest in any way, we're legally not allowed to disturb.... It's almost comical the state would put law against trying to save a family from something as devastating as a house fire however, here we are... Thx for watching!
Hi there!! I’ve been watching your videos and may have missed it…but, why do some houses vent their dryers out the roof or high up on the side of house.? This seems super inconvenient and I was curious. Thanks!!✌️
Very typical on homes that are multiple stories, and the dryer is on the top floor. If we would get back to having dryers back up to an exterior wall, it would fix 99% of dryer vent issues... If you or someone you know is about to build a new home, they should force the laundry room to be on an outside wall! It'll save you thousands in maintenance fees throughout the years!
I just don't understand....Why run a dryer vent like that? Every utility room I have ever had(5 houses) and ALL of them have been on an outside wall! Six or seven inches and then BAM you're out! The worst one was in a basement that ran up 5 feet then out!
Because, in the Charlotte Metro area, we clearly stopped worrying about functionality and started focusing on “pretty” in the late ‘90’s… People wonder why our grandparents, heck our parents, never needed a dryer vent company, IT’S BECAUSE THE VENT WENT STRAIGHT THROUGH AN EXTERIOR WALL!
Great question! It happens bc over time, the plastic louvers on the exterior damper will eventually start to become more of a "U" shape. When that happens, there are small gaps between the louvers that the birds can pry open with their beak. Momma birds are smart and fast! They can build half of that in one night which would be plenty to stop the airflow and allow them to build additions to their kingdom! Hopefully that answers your question and thx for watching!
That cover you have will eventually get clogged with dryer lint. It happened to me! It worked fine for about 4 months and then my dryer started taking literally 2 cycles to dry one load!
Plenty room for small birds. It’s a perfect nesting spot to raise a family (not for the homeowners though, obviously), it’s warm, protected from the weather, keeps the babies safe from predators, everything a bird parent could want. 😂😂😂
HAHAHAHAHA! Funny, guess “anyone” can do my job however not “everyone” can figure out punctuation and the use of capital letters when typing such BRILLIANCY! But hey, thanks for watching! Be sure to check out my other content showcasing my “acting” skills! HAHAHAHA!!!! Cheers and hope things get better for ya!
Nice job, Steve!
Thanks HSB!!!
Thanks for watching guys and gals!!!
Quite the engineers! Seems those birdies had some beef with someone, LOL!
Busy little birds.

Wow! Great video. With twigs and stuff flying through some of these vents, I would wear protective eye gear.
Wow! Great video Steve!

Whaaaaat 😮🤨 crazy birds 😆
If the dryer is downstairs why did the contractor run the vent up and out? Makes no sense esp if it’s on an outside wall.
I’ve had birds build nests in my mailbox, maybe I need to check the vents! Lol
People also need to remember that with block like this, they need to open up there dryer and clean the lent on inside as well. That is big part why dryer fires, happen, built up lent inside the dryer that is never cleaned out.
I love your channel Steve. It’s only a matter of time till you have 100k subs 🔥🔥🔥
Steve your awesome! Love watching ya at work!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
And I love that you're here!!! Thank you!
I had one where the nest was 10 feet long, in a commercial building, on the roof. Took hours to clean it out. Completely full of pine needles.
That was insane!
WOW!
Geeeeeeeez Louise!!!!! 😮😮😮😮
I LOVE this!!!! 😂
That was great to see and learn thank you and Blessings to you and your family
I don't know HOW there was 531 CFM coming out of that vent with that massive clog! Wow!
Agreed!
😳😳😳
Holy bale of hay!!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
❤
HOLY!!!!

I'm afraid to look in my vent...
How do the birds get in there to build a nest?
I do believe there was a whole apartment complex in there!!!!
That's generational wealth right there! HAHAHAHA!
❤❤
Bye bye birdie
Looks like anew record for clogs.
It's never ending isn't it? Countless dryer vents that need cleaning

That’s crazy ! Don’t you have a helper? I’d feel better if u had someone holding the ladder :) 😮
LOL, no ma'am... Helpers can be rather pricey these days!

Industrious little cusses huh ??? 😜😜😜💗💗💗
How did a nest get in there if the vents were closed?

That is why I have a cover over the output hole.
That cover you have will eventually get clogged with dryer lint. It happened to me! It worked fine for about 4 months and then my dryer started taking literally 2 cycles to dry one load!
Ambitious birds!! Please always wear a really good mask and gloves. 😊
What is the best solution to keep the birds out of the dryer vent ?
You can buy universal pest control covers with a removable cage. They just get mounted over the existing vent.
Now that’s a nest! Stood no chance with your tools. Homeowner lucky they didn’t a fire.
Glad there were no unhatched eggs or babies.😢
Need a vent cover
Egg incubator!
Is this your full time business?
Seems a stretch that the birds could have got through the flaps to nest in there - how does this even happen?
Plenty room for small birds. It’s a perfect nesting spot to raise a family (not for the homeowners though, obviously), it’s warm, protected from the weather, keeps the babies safe from predators, everything a bird parent could want. 😂😂😂
Momma birds are very intelligent! And they'll come back year after year if they've been successful previously! Thanks for watching!!!
Right handed? No problem, just put the ladder on the other side.
You are a dead ringer for Alex Horne.
Hopefully that's a compliment, LOL! If so, THANKS! If not, I've probably been called worse.... HAHAHA! Either way, thank for watching!
@advsLLC he's the guy who created taskmaster. Not an insult at all.
You acted like that was a major job… it was so easy… so stop acting like it was so hard… anyone could have figured this out and do the job …
