I was first introduced to this song by my best friend Collette, I was fourteen & Collette thirteen. We'd been allowed to travel via train from Winterton Scunthorpe to Sheffield & stay with her dad (which was a big journey back in 1981) We were on a *Bendy Bus* going to see Collette's grandma & she told me about the song *Honey* & would ask her grandma if we could listen to the song. We got to Collette's grandma & asked immediately if she could play the record (yes, vinyl) & I sobbed, the song was so endearing & I've never forgotten how much it made me cry but also to come to love the artist's like Matt Monroe, Bobby Goldsboro, Frank Sinatra & many many more. 💙💛
I saw in time you are a woman. I was going to ask if you and Colette got married 🙈🙈🙈🙈. Lovely anyway the experience you relate with all the endearing details. BTW I was 13 too in 1981.. God bless you all.. Greetings from Italy 🤝👋..
This has special meaning to me. My Wife of 53 years passed in 4/24. I miss her so bad. I'm trying not to act pitiful but I am so lonely. I am thankful for our time together. Take my advice and live each day as if it's your last. Never go to bed mad! Tell your loved ones regularly that you love them!
hi bro advice reminder this is sin dalawa nasa kataohan ang nasa 10 commanment wag kang makeaped sa de mo asawa en donot telling a lia alam mo ang nag mamataad ay ebababa nelord pero ang nag papakombaba etataas ne lord mag pasan ka kaya ng cruz ewan ko kung patawarin kspa ng panginoon
I had to put a restraining order against my gf because she kept hitting and pushing me and covering my face when ever she'd get mad, and now I hear this song and it makes me think of her and all the good times we had and now I miss her so much and if only she knew how sad and heart broken I've been since I chose to file a restraining order... I just couldn't handle her anger and physical abuse towards me and feeling helpless... If only I could have our good days back but now I can't have any days with her.... 😭😭💔
Always heard this song as a child but really did not understand it. Found it on TH-cam Music and thought I would see the lyrics and Google an explanation of the song and found the following: " In this song, a woman who plants a tree, but then she dies a few years later. The story is told from the husband's perspective, who misses her terribly and is reminded of her when he sees the tree. The song has made various "worst song ever" lists as its detractors find it overly sentimental and cloying, but there are many defenders of the song as well, who find it heartfelt and moving." It is never late to learn about the meaning of old songs taken for granted as a child.
je m aperçois que je ne suis pas le seul à voir la beauté des sentiments d un être aimé .... On ne peut le remplacer et cela nous semble insupportable même si avec le temps ..........
