    My favourite one is definitely the White temple. I can't describe how fascinating its architecture is. The Blue temple is also amazing though....I am just so proud to be Thai 🇹🇭. I visited both in 2019 but they were so crowded. Maybe I have to get up early like you did, seem to be a perfect time. Thanks for making this great video and showing it to the world ❤️.

      I totally agree, it is unique and fascinating. The Blue temple was also unique but didn't have the wow factor of the White Temple. Add in the Black House and the Big Buddha and Chiang Rai is pretty special for temples.

    Oh man, another awesome video Joe!! Your shots of the blue temple are stunning. Ive been to the white one, but didnt make it to "the blue temple," man, your shots are so cool!!

      The White Temple is definitely my favourite visually but the Blue Temple was so unique, I really enjoyed it. It was also fun wandering around the Black House, which I think you have been to as well if I remember your video. I must admit, I wasn't the biggest fan of Chiang Rai City itself (I loved the province) but the temples were awesome.

    Not sure if you had visited the Sanctuary of Truth at Pattaya, was there in couple of years back and the structure was still not a finished product. The entire structure were built without nails or screws in wood. I heard it was completed recently and hope you can do a vblog. It would be a great video for sure!

    Both temples looks amazing, the sea of hands looks so ominous, think that would have been better to have it in the black temple you visited as well. But might have been lost in all the other details whilst here it took a more central point.

    • @hungrytoexplore
      @hungrytoexplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, I think you make a good point. Here it stands out because of the contrast with the white purity. I didn't expect to find that there actually. The Blue Temple was pretty cool to see, I haven't seen another like that anywhere, but the White Temple was simply stunning.

      haha it is even called The Blue Temple, I will see if they want to change it next time I go. It is stunningly unique, but I think for me, the sheer beauty of the White Temple wins for me. Glad you enjoyed it.

    The wishing tree mentioned in your comment is most likely the Thai mythological Kanlapaphruek.
    The Kanlapaphruek tree, a wishing tree that grows in heaven, is described in the Triphumikatha scriptures (Tribhum Phra Ruang). As Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya becomes the next Buddha, the Kanlapaphruek tree will be found growing in the human world.

    The hands represent hell, or the people who have lived uncleanly in life and are in hell anyway. In my opinion, the hand reaching out symbolize the fact that they are trying to escape from hell and the bowls hold in the hand are them asking for merit (long talk into buddhism). But the hand is a warning, and the temple itself represent heaven, so it's like be good or this is where you will be instead of heaven. I visit this temple once, and even run into the owner of the temple painting inside the main temple; at that time there is not this many tourist.

      Thank you for providing your insight, it is really interesting and I guess that is the beauty of temples like this. There is an assumed meaning but also an interpreted meaning by each person.

    The white temples has such incredibly intricate details, I can't imagine the time and labour spent building those, along with the cost, so everyone can marvel at the site. You described the wonder with such awe and reverence. Joe. Aren't we thankful for our sights to be able to behold and taking it in? 🙂

    • @hungrytoexplore
      @hungrytoexplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, the White Temple cost a huge amount of money I think and is still being developed. Sometimes I struggle to find the right words for such beauty to be honest but that is the benefit of video, you can see what I am talking about and that says more than anything that I can come up with.
