I love my old street glide,at my age now 85 i thiink.this is probably my last bike. Ive been riding since 09,56. Ive riden rigid rear end ,tank shift, duo glide road king and street glides they get bettet(and a whole lot more expensve each year and i grow older,weaker..and more frai) i had to fit.a..sidecar on,thr bike because the strength in my legs is no longer abpe to hold the b ike upright..and my left leg can now longer shift. Had to get an after market hand shifter. Ill keep. going, i guess, till they" just roll me away.".😊

Yep that’s the only way it should be and on top of that I just bought a 23 model in March but I am one of the ones that don’t like a lot of the technology it usually bites me in the ass eventually and saying that technology will be the downfall of the world and technically the 2024 models is really 2nd year not 1st year because the CVO for 23 years different engine with 121 but every thing else same and engine just different bore

Glad to see HD finally selling a bike that doesn't need immediate change outs. Spending $25-$30k for a bike and then having to upgrade suspension, bars, exhaust, ect just never floated my boat...from what I saw of the 2024 RG & SG HD has maintained their fit and finish quality - one of their best features IMHO. Glad you are enjoying your new ride, loving the white pearl :D

When I bought my 2023 on 1/6/24 at Red Rock H-D in Las Vegas they included (which I paid for) 6 scheduled maintenance over 3 years giving me no out of pocket expenses for those 3 years which gives me great "state of mind".

    • @BoDean52

Hey Bob, great video as always. Almost signed for one a month ago. Thing that stopped me was, I didn't want to give up what I have. My 2014 Road King, 2020 BMW GSA or my 68 Charger.
TBH, I never really liked the look of the Road Glide until recently. Always found it to have an unbalanced look. Not anymore, I really want one. Love the new design, from the fairing and new headlight to the bags and rear lighting. The new tech with that awesome TFT screen, beautiful!!
Now, color. Seriously, Extra for Vivid Black???? A harley staple color since the beginning of time. Yeah, I get that some colors cost more, but even paying more for a blacked out engine..... Cheaper to produce than chrome.
I guess I'll eventually end up with one. Glad your loving your new machine and am sure you know, as we get older, others opinions don't really matter that much.

Totally get why you hesitate but some things that people don’t realize. Harley is using a menu type way to buy motorcycles anymore. You will see that even more in future years, but the base price is lowered so you can build the bike you want. Like it or not I think that’s our future. Can never give up the road king

And to see myself starting from the beginning again after putting so much time and money into my , still perfectly running bike is a waste. My bike fits me well. I went and test rode a new 24 road glide in February back to back with a 2020 road glide limited Zephyr blue.
The bars on the 24 are phenomenal finally. The suspension was nice. The throttle response was impressive! Unfortunately the one I looked at the audio didn't work.
The deal breaker for me was the clutch pull was horrible. After a 5 mile ride my hand hurt from how hard the clutch pull was.

I’m not comparing the new HD baggers to Goldwings right now - but the way HD is moving paves the way for them to be compared at some point in the near future. And from that perspective after bringing the bagger up to goldwing specs, the Goldwing will be a lot cheaper.

After getting what I needed my bike would not start. It would not do anything. No lights no nothing. Swapped battery, check fuses nothing. Towed it to HD. Turns out the ECM was fried. I have a 2019 street glide special and don't use all of the switches on it. And very seldom I use the joy sticks. I am not a techy guy so the new street glide buttons/joysticks/switches/ect. may overwhelm me. I like to touch the screen for the things I need. In time Klock Werks will come out with a windshield for the new street glide and am curious what that will look like. I wish there was a cigarette plug on the new street glide. I do alot of camping and use an inverter to charge things. I most likely will buy one sooner or later but am hoping that Harley will bring the cigarette adaptor plug back.

So I had a chance to ride the 2024 for a few days, guessing that HD wants you to think it needs a new suspension so you will go out and buy the SE Ohlins. But the torque on the 2024 RG is great, I bought a 2023 RG ST and the 24 is more punchy for sure. This being my First HARLEY, I bought the Fast Johnnie version as a collector piece and think will keep it in the fleet. Maybe a CVO/ST in the future, but hard to justify the $9,000 more than the same bike “category” as my Fast Johnnie, legitimately speaking. Okay, yes the inverted forks and 121 motor, and SE Ohlins. But everything else is the same ostensibly.

    • @Stripping_Bolts
      @Stripping_Bolts 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@BoDean52 That's even worse my man. The #1 thing to avoid while breaking in an engine is granny shifting and lugging the engine. If you don't believe me, call ur local HD dealer and ask one of the master mechanics. Run the engine thru the rpm range, just don't lug it or bounce off the rev limiter. I know the manual prob says stay below 3500 rpm or so but that's not what master certified hd mechanics will tell you. Running the engine at constant rpm, especially low rpm, for extended periods is a good way to score your cylinder walls and create internal oil leaks/compression issues/ring seating problems. It's better to be in a higher gear and be on and off the throttle rather than constantly slightly on the throttle, maintaining speed. Don't be afraid to get on the gas and give her the beans during the break in or else your rings might not seat properly ✌️

I’m not so sure my second third and fourth one were kind of expensive too 😂

I bought a ST. I was between the RG and SG. The SG just fit me better. I would have both. Love the videos. Keep it up
