  • A bike with a big price tag and has nothing to offer apart from performance and quality of product. Could've atleast given a few accessories in this price point which cannot be justified only by performance.
    Does the R3 look better for this price point? Find out in the video.

    Had a test ride of this bike today. Though, it's a superb package, but being a 6'3" guy, it wasn't quite comfortable for me because of its compactness. For a tall guy, the bike ergonomics could be a concern.
    Here are my observations :
    1- Superb engine performance
    2- Soothing exaust with parallel twin engine
    3- Better screen
    4- No breaking issues as per my experience.. maybe it's different on racing tracks
    5- Features loaded bike in its segment
    6- Value for money product
    Overall, a really good package for those who are below 6' feet height.

      That's a really good summary of the entire bike. I appreciate it.
      Sport bikes in general don't suit tall people because of how compact they can be, but they do pack a punch.

    For daily use as well as intermediary touring which is better out of Duke 390 & RS 457 ??

    • @motorcrit
      @motorcrit  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It depends on how much you can spend for petrol in a day. You can daily the RS457 but the mileage is terrible.
      In case you're not pleased with the mileage, go for the Duke 390, performs fantastic on the highway as well.
      Even though the comfort is better on the Duke, the RS457 provides better wind protection because of the visor as well.

    Hows the ergonomics at 5.10 height.
    I m riding duke 390, how fast this bike as compare to duke ????

    • @motorcrit
      @motorcrit  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      This has a good midrange and top end, somewhat similar to the Duke.
      The Duke's performance feels like a punch in the face all because of the single cylinder but the Aprilia's power is much more linear and smooth. Even though you feel the torque and the power, it's not like the Duke's punch in the face kind of performance. The Aprilia is a much more powerful machine and has a lot more capabilities than the Duke 390 but in the end, it comes to personal preference.
      The ergonomics are quite good, it feels just like the RC 200/390. The tank is shaped in such a way that you can grip it with your legs quite easily.

  • @anshumanmishra7130
    @anshumanmishra7130 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    how would it fit a tall rider? I am 6'1. Also would it make sense to buy this if you are never planning to take this on race track and use it mostly for city use with occasional run on highway?

    • @motorcrit
      @motorcrit  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You would feel at home on this bike because the clips ons are raised compared to the R15 and the footpegs aren't set really back as I said in the video.
      The tank is also shaped in such a way that would allow your legs to grip it quite easily and make you feel comfortable.
      In the city, the bike would return a mileage of 15-20 (as said by the salesperson). If you're ready to take on that expense, it would be fine. On the highway, given that you're 6'1, I don't think you would feel comfortable. Major issue is the heating and the mileage of the bike. If you're okay with these, go for it.

    As a parallel twin engine, it doesn't sound like the Ninja 300/400 or the R3 because of the firing order. Ninja 300, 400, and R3 have 180-degree crankshaft, and Aprilia 457 and GT 650 have 270-degree crankshaft. A 180-degree crankshaft has an equal firing interval compared to a 270-degree crankshaft.

    • @dellman4432
      @dellman4432 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's not called as parallel twin
      Parallel means 2 crank shaft are assembled at same position means 360°
      In other words in parallel twin the 2 crankshaft are arranged either up or down
      In case of R3 there is 180° crank angle means one crank up and the othe one down. So r3 ninja 300,400 is note called as parallel twin, it's called a inline twin

    • @namithdhas314
      @namithdhas314 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@dellman4432 Correct, and I am aware of that, but the term parallel twin is used vaguely to describe a twin-cylinder in-line engine. There are actually 3 configurations in a parallel twin engine 180, 270 & 360 degree crankshafts.

    • @anshumanmishra7130

    Gt 650 or speed 400 please help me out there is about 1 lakh price differnce

    • @motorcrit
      @motorcrit  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am not a huge fan of the GT650 so I'd actually go for the Speed.
      The GT is more powerful than the speed but the power is very linear. The Speed's power is very punchy and when you twist the throttle, the torque kicks in quite early which is what I like. The Speed is much lighter, can be taken offroad and also is a very good commuter at the same time. The GT's riding posture and the weight is the problem overall for me and it wouldn't make any sense for me to own the GT.
      Ultimately, the choice is yours. Do go for a test ride, check both the bikes out multiple times and then decide on the bike which would suit your needs.

    Bro can you say something about how the diameter of a fork affects the ride quality or suspension performance. Don't google anything!

    • @motorcrit
      @motorcrit  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So what I've noticed from riding bikes with smaller forks is that you don't get a lot of feedback from the front tyre. I completely rely on the front end of the bike when I take a corner because it's easier to control the bike when the rear tyre skids. It's better to have the front end confidence.
      Secondly, the smaller forks tend to dip down more compared to larger forks because they have lesser compression resistance. When you apply harsh brakes, there is a chance of the bike bottoming out the suspension which in turn, doesn't give you brake confidence as well.
      Hope it helps.

    • @subhajit1128
      @subhajit1128 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@motorcrit Have you ridden R15 v3 (the one with telescopic forks? You must be aware of the from end feel of that bike (those were 37mm) the usd forks in v4 are still 37 mm in diameter, it's not the fork diameter but the compression and damping settings from the factory which decide the stiffness and front end feel. Every suspension is oil damped, the thickness of the oil and the diameter of the valves inside it decide the compression. Thicker 41mm forks in fz or dominar allow more compression to make the ride comfortable. Whereas the sportbike suspensions are tuned to give you the maximum front end feel.
      R3 provides KYB forks in front (37mm dia, 130mm travel), which brand fork does aprilia provides? First hear anyone complaining about R3's suspension then talk crap about it.
      Thinner forks (37mm in place of 41mm or 43mm) can instead make the front end lighter, that's a huge advantage.
      Point taken that r3 is way overpriced, should've been 1 lakh cheaper. But it's Yamaha's attitude you should be talking about not the bike. It has cemented itself as a bulletproof machine for past 8 years. What reputation does the 457 have? Companies are fooling general public with specs and features, very less number of well built bikes are sold in India right now. You should understand it. There has been numerous issues popping every other day with himalayan 450 and all those newly launched bikes. Consumers should be careful about their purchase.

      The Aprilia on the other hand, it has so much midrange and low end Torque that the power itself feels quite linear compared to the RC390.
