Cargo consolidation is a thing but I wish it had more value. I feel right now at least that there is no real distinction between say a Hull A, and a Hull C except one holds more than the other. In reality the Hull A should be more specialized for runs either on a single planet, planet to orbiting station, or planet to moons, and the Hull C should be more specialized for long distance, say between planets or systems. In turn there should be benefit from consolidating lots of local cargo in space onto a Hull C and then carrying it on. But none of the systems in place encourage such realistic gameplay.
also remember its space, if your trying to align yourself with another ships cargo you dont have to be in the same rotation, flip "upside down" with the c2 and you can get right against the hammerheads cargo elevator.

Does this really work? How do you know how much rep you have earned (I didnt see it in the rep tab). Im completed about 5 salvage mission so far and havent gotten any new missions.
Yeah I think they added 1 additional spawn chance of a crap load (all grey boxes / base metals) so that’s taken averages down, and also the sheer amount of people doing it has slowed down selling - but it’s still by far the fastest money in game.
Biggest issue with the cargo salvage is that the selling terminals will regularly take your stuff without paying you anything and give a "cargo could not be removed" error. Supposedly you can avoid this by not stacking different types of cargo on top of each other, but sadly my experience is that that's not a guarantee. Lost out on over 10 million aUEC from that bug :P
Just stack the same materials on top of each other. For example, don't stack laranite on top of Borase. You can still have different materials in you cargo. You can even have them right next to each other just not on top of each other unless they're the same if that makes sense. Worked everytime for me
I can confirm that in 3.20 this is accurate. If the cargo on the bottom gets sold first, the cargo on top glitches out, so stack like on like. It works. I suspect that one could stack unlike on unlike as long as the upper cargo was sold first but have not tested this. As another commenter stated, it is a bad idea to hoard cargo for a full bay due to the many instabilities in 3.20. Sell more often and don't try to overstack.
Can you dock fully laden at Orison? Good to know - that was not working in PTU. Still the real money from this is in the drugs and they only sell at the scrap yards and space stations you can’t dock at yet unfortunately.
Man, I just started playing SC last week. I JUST missed this opportunity. Thought I caught an early break with this as I know jack about any of the gameplay loops, let alone the more lucrative or lesser known ones.
Working on a new new player guide at the moment and I'm forcing myself not to retoggle all of the key binds so I have to learn the new ones. The change in cruise control while a little mind boggling at first does actually make a tonne of sense.
and as some may notice, few (many) bug on that early .20. I have the station inventory infinite loading. pretty anoying, i cant remove my helmet to drinking, for exemple. found a solution, stations inventory are bugged, but not ships' ones ! so you have to spawn a ship, unequip helmet there, and well, go drink/eat, come back and take the helmet back ^^
I usually take everything, just cause i'm only doing 2-3 risky's before heading off to sell, with server instabilities and interesting luck I try not to tempt fate too much LOL ... but yeah if you were gonna hot and sweaty min/max it maze, slam, widow, gold, quant pretty much. OH! also currently don't stack unlike cargo's ... the sell bit with the new boxes doesn't like it and people have been loosing a bunch of cargo sales ... if your lucky enough to see/do this while the JT event is running, when you grab maze, grab the JT mission and it counts as sales/drop off at which ever station is attached at that point, nearly doubling Maze sale price (160k/scu... I think )
@@LoudGuns absolutely, this will get nerfed ... infact I think they've started nerfing it already ... get what you can while you can... i'm focusing on just getting back the ships i lost in the 'not a wipe' .. with a nice buffer to play with some fighters, I was lucky enough to keep a couple of my big expensive ships

its not gonna change anything, u just need to stack SCUs of the same ressource in ur cargo bay. for example dont put a laranite box on top of a beryl box, or it will loose everything. Its not a bug acctually, if u stack ressources of the same type together u wont have any issues
With the last update I lost my 890 which was sad but I also lost my Vulture and salvage rep which was worse. I got the rep back by getting a random person who was already salvaging to share the contracts until I unlocked the 30k missions and I sent 200k (50k per contract shared). First C2 I did had just under 800k worth or cargo, it's insane how much profit you can make doing these and now I'm very close to getting back my 890😂
Yes but it’s more like 2-5m credits / hr post nerfs and there are more empty / low value wrecks so it’s possible to get an unlucky hour and make not much. Still if you grind it out you’ll make decent money still that surpasses every other loop for pure aUEC / hr earning rates.
Afraid the loop has now been nerfed in 3.21.1 - hope you’ve bought all the 890’s you need & I for one will miss the spicy encounters at Brio’s!

Yeah I think they added 1 additional spawn chance of a crap load (all grey boxes / base metals) so that’s taken averages down, and also the sheer amount of people doing it has slowed down selling - but it’s still by far the fastest money in game.
@@Totemwolfdog do you know if they changed the regular 30k missions to 50k missions?
Is this still viable in 3.21?
I have tried this several times and all vessels are turning up empty....
If you get an empty one switch servers. Can confirm it’s all working ok as of last night since I pulled 24m in.
Anyone know is if this has been nerfed in the recent hot fix?
yep fixed(
loud guns said in another comment he was still doing it. probably lots of misinformation. can't find actual patch note.
Will this work with a rented andromeda?
I only have enough for a vulture.
Yeah absolutely - rent a Connie and do a few runs in that, will probably give you enough for a cargo ship.
Awesome, tomorrow I will give it a go!
noice, I'll be trying this out in the future.
Did anyone get a crimestat while doing this? Not sure how I did.
Hulll C can dock at Orison and sell np.
Can you dock fully laden at Orison? Good to know - that was not working in PTU. Still the real money from this is in the drugs and they only sell at the scrap yards and space stations you can’t dock at yet unfortunately.
@@LoudGuns lol yeah probably gotta wait for pyro for drug running Hull C
*goes looking a C2*
Nice video, ty ☺️
Man, I just started playing SC last week. I JUST missed this opportunity. Thought I caught an early break with this as I know jack about any of the gameplay loops, let alone the more lucrative or lesser known ones.
There’s a new update to it through bounties - check out my more recent vids for a guide 👍
Good vid i dropped a like and already subbed :)
Can you make a video showing changes in the key binding? 🐼
Working on a new new player guide at the moment and I'm forcing myself not to retoggle all of the key binds so I have to learn the new ones. The change in cruise control while a little mind boggling at first does actually make a tonne of sense.
@@LoudGuns ooh, I need that guide 🐼🫡
Should I do this method? Im getting back into the game and want some quick money. Is it gonna be nerfed soon?
Think you answered your own question with the line “want some quick money” 😂
@@LoudGunsYep 😅. Do you know how many legal salvage missions I would have to do to unlock 30ks?
Still not tried Salvage :) but i did buy the Vulture so guess i could try it.
Actual salvage I do find enjoyable, and the vultures a tidy ship!
@@LoudGuns And it was a lot cheaper than the big cousin :) looking at the Hull C but 562 bucks or 625 non warbond is bit much.
It’s unfortunate I’ll be busy the next two days, since there’s no way I’ll be able to actually do this this patch.
and as some may notice, few (many) bug on that early .20. I have the station inventory infinite loading. pretty anoying, i cant remove my helmet to drinking, for exemple. found a solution, stations inventory are bugged, but not ships' ones ! so you have to spawn a ship, unequip helmet there, and well, go drink/eat, come back and take the helmet back ^^
Just put your helmet on the ground, drink and eat, then equip it again. Don’t overcomplicate it
@@RoGueMusicOfficial last time someone earned an helmet just like that XD
@@Armathy yeah that happens too when people just want to be annoying lol
You can make 61mil per c2 Hercules load
Dont want them to nerf this. Dont wanna work a second job to try out some ships. Dont mind wipes if we can earn it in back
How have you been dealing with the inventory bug?
Tbh it seems to be luck of the draw and I haven’t been struggling with it, for some friends it has screwed them completely
2 ways
-go to another station maybe inventory worked there
-buy something but select ship inventory and go to open space
Does this still work with the latest patch today?
i think no
Yeah it’s still fine
@@LoudGuns did you check?
@@Bags2twentyy yep literally doing it now
no man, that fixed, missions no longer appear immediately. Only garbage waste falls out@@LoudGuns
still working?
I think )
I’ve gone double sweaty and now only take maze and quant (will also take slam, E’tam and widow in the very big boxes)
mines does not say Risky! just everything but with out the risky word. do you think it's the same?
@@LoudGuns absolutely, this will get nerfed ... infact I think they've started nerfing it already ... get what you can while you can... i'm focusing on just getting back the ships i lost in the 'not a wipe' .. with a nice buffer to play with some fighters, I was lucky enough to keep a couple of my big expensive ships
@@julianpr019 risky are in the personal tab .. have to do a few of the general tab legit salvages to competition to unlock the good ones in the personal tab
Thank u
Guys, for the selling bug, sell 1scu at a time !
its not gonna change anything, u just need to stack SCUs of the same ressource in ur cargo bay. for example dont put a laranite box on top of a beryl box, or it will loose everything. Its not a bug acctually, if u stack ressources of the same type together u wont have any issues
radio head reference out of no where lol
I was born in the late 80’s, what can I say 😂
I like how you call it a wipe but not a wipe cause iv lost a drake cutlas black and all my ship weapon configs but kept a c8r
I only have a freelancer max. Would that get good money from this?
It certainly wouldn’t suck, and I think the grid is even big enough for you to nab a couple of the 32 SCU crates if you come across them.
@@LoudGuns Thanks. I will give it a shot.
With the last update I lost my 890 which was sad but I also lost my Vulture and salvage rep which was worse. I got the rep back by getting a random person who was already salvaging to share the contracts until I unlocked the 30k missions and I sent 200k (50k per contract shared). First C2 I did had just under 800k worth or cargo, it's insane how much profit you can make doing these and now I'm very close to getting back my 890😂
I tried it, the first mission was Insane I got 5mil almost instantly, but the following 20 were all ass.
Is there a trick?
luck
Holy shit, just did this w my cutlass black. And I made 1.5 mill my first run. Maze and quant
Is this still working to anyone’s knowledge?
Yes but it’s more like 2-5m credits / hr post nerfs and there are more empty / low value wrecks so it’s possible to get an unlucky hour and make not much. Still if you grind it out you’ll make decent money still that surpasses every other loop for pure aUEC / hr earning rates.
