Not sure if people know this or not but Jack's songs have always been a very direct and critical commentary on society. Usually the only thing chill about his songs is the tune, other than the ones where he literally just sings about the ocean lol. He talks about suicide, politics, shootings, prostitution, and people's general lack of care for each other and why the world is messed up. I would almost say he's bitter if he also didn't translate this incredible message to rise above everything. He's basically acoustic metal 😄

no matter what song Jack makes , He always makes listening ,watching, learning fun. i listen to his music quite alot and no matter how cranky you can be the music just makes you drift away . for e.g ive been re building a 1973 ford gran torino over the last 10 years and it was stolen from my shed in the middle of the night and i was . Words couldn't say it . i put the song "upside down" on and yeah i was still angry but calm enough to talk to police without yelling im not sure if what i'm saying makes sense but if it does then you'll understand Mr Johnson rocks .

Plus, musicians being political has shaped our nation. "This Land is Your Land" by Woody Guthrie was actually a critical response to Irving Berlin's "God Bless America"
