This video is now a year old. So now that you've had some time using both units, what's been your experience with reliability and longevity on each of them?
There's a guy selling a portable gx unit that he converted to taking a Makita 18v lx battery to power it.
Because I know putting extra pull on my alternator on my truck, I'm not going to hook the compressor to my car battery. So I like the idea of using a portable, rechargeable, replacable batter, or plugging it into a 110v outlet...
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!

Thanks for the question. Both units are currently doing well, but I take great care of them. I'm still happy with both and am using them appropriately for their intended purpose- YH for filling tanks, and the GX for filling individual guns. I like the idea of using the Makita battery. Wonder how long it would last with a full charge? Thanks for watching!

Just a note with the GX, you can fill small tanks with it easily enough but you must work in 5 min intervals, bleed valve, then keep fan running for another couple minutes until cool again. Repeat that cycle as-needed but keep special attention to bleeding the line between cycles as this motor can be damaged if started under pressure. I only have a little 45CI HPA tank but the GX works fine taking me back from 3000psi up 4500.

Thank you. Very nice well stated, structured and concise video. I own both also and would not do without either. As will all things, maintenance is part of the pride of ownership. Take care of things and they will usually take care of you.

I own both compressors, Mark and just purchased the new GXCS4 that everyone is raving about. I LOVE my Yong Heng blue box, and I've only used my GX2 twice with zero issues.

Excellent! You'll have to let us know how the GXCS4 goes. I'm curious. Thanks for sharing!

I'm sorry to say that I don't have any experience with that compressor nor have I read much about it. Sorry about that. I hope it works great for you.

its a tough decision on compressors, i have an old shoe box that i still use. It is slow , i have one of the first models out and havent did anything to it but replace O rings. I been looking at a replacement. i have a few small tanks that i use on a couple pcp. a maurauder, Hatsan bullboss. an fx gun, daystate, etc. my question is, i wonder if the yong heng would suit me or the gx cs3? I have looked at the yong heng for a long time, just hard to decided lol, maintainence is something i def like to to. have you ever used a cs3 ? anyone reading this ?

Thanks for asking, and I agree, it's a difficult decision. Obviously, there are a lot of factors to consider including if you are filling the gun directly or filling a tank. I don't have any experience with the GX CS3, so I can't comment on that. I know the GX CS2 is solid, and I've read good things about the GX CS4. I also know the YH has been my standard work horse for a number of years, and I find it to be dependable and adequate for my needs. I'm sure you will make a good decision for yourself.

I wish I would have found your videos before I went and bought a viver air compressor that burned out after about a year and a 1/2 then I went to buy a hot sun sparc which didn't show up, when it was supposed to, and then when it did show up it was broke straight out of the Box!
I think right now because I don't own a tank and for portability I'm going to go ahead and go with the GX, With a 4 year warranty hopefully I won't have to buy another compressor for a few years
