Great & meaningful song! Sadly find it hard to listen to most Segar songs due to hearing them over & over again! When was younger our family took a long road trip. My Aunt's BF played cd of Segar's greatest hits ALL the way down & half way back! Me & cousin were like: "if I gotta hear against the wind 1 more f-ing time..." My cousin wound up smashing it with a rock while they were in rest stop bathroom. He was POd but we got to listen to the radio the rest of the way Took forever before I could appreciate his music again. For years I would simply skip one of his songs if it popped up somewhere
Years ago I heard him tell Bob Costas that the record company tried to get him to remove that line, thinking it would confuse people. It was probably they who didn't get it.
Guys, I am a hard rock/ rock/Heavy Metal drummer and music lover. But there is nothing like some Bob Seger to soothe the soul! I honestly know and believe that he is just one of the greatest songwriters of our time. He just has a way to touch your inner self in asuch a good way. And he is no one hit wonder? Guys keep playing him please. He is one Artist that I like live! And that list is short! I only have a handful of bands that I would buy a live album from and I bought 2 of his. He has Live Bullet live in Michigan, and Nine Tonight in Boston. I can listen from start to finish both of those albums. Guys please do some live Bob Seger and you will see what I mean? Although you guys did Travelin Man with Beautiful Loser, which is classic. But keep going please?
This a deep rabbit hole. So many hits and all good. Night Moves, Turn The Page, Betty Lou's Gettin Out Tonight, Her Strut, Katmandu, Come To Poppa, Mainstreet, Hollywood Nights, Beautiful Loser and the list goes on. Enjoy! ✌🏽
Wife here. Bob write great songs with awesome musicianship in them. Saw him on Against the wind tour I was in high school . Saw him again on his final tour still sounded incredible and gave fans hell of a show . Enjoy the ride . Love your reactions. Silver Bullet fine musicians.
Thanks, guys.. he is an amazing songwriter... so evocative! and also beautiful melody and vocals.. Bob Seger is the midwestern classic story-teller... appreciate your reaction, and hope you listen to more!
this is one of the most beautiful sad songs ever... one from my childhood that I hold dear to my heart for many reasons. Thank you for finding Bob and your heartfelt reaction...
This guy is phenomenal, saw him twice with the silver bullet band at MSG . Was dynamite, soulful , pure energy. Rock and Roll the way it should be played! I was blown away!
@@edwardcapobianco2975 I saw him and was blown away as well. I was lucky to get that black, stretchy headband he always wears at concerts! Best concert trinket ever. 🤯
@@SGED392 what to leave in. What to leave out. I so love the lyrics to this. I can relate and I imagine so many others can as well. “I wish I knew now what I didn’t know then” ENJOY THE NOW! So hard to do. So easy to preach 😍
Great song by a great artist, arguably the best songwriter/storyteller ever. He has a massive catalog that I can honestly say only has one or two songs that I don't like. I hope you do more.
My first concert. 1979 at Cobo Hall in Detroit. My mom took me. I was 9! Not sure it was appropriate. lol. Still remember the pot smell. Bob's still one of my favorite artists. I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then! (Best lyric ever)
He is a master song writer for sure... We had SO MUCH great music in the 70's he just wasn't one of my faves I guess. WE were jaded from so many great artists and bands. But WOW, I sure do appreciate his immense talents now. He is a treasure. Thx!
Bob Seger was my first concert. I was 10 My dad knew security and we got the VIP treatment with front row center floors..2 years later we went to this tour with my Mom too 😂 I guess I'm still running against the wind 🙃 Rock and roll never forgets is fire too. Great reaction and Peace out 🙏 ☮️ ✌️
Brothers here are some essential Bob Seger songs and they're all bangers; Come to Poppa, The Fire Down Below, Sunspot Baby and Fire Lake. You definitely would have fun with these songs and not be disappointed
I've lost count how many times I saw Bob Seger in concert, I believe about 7 times. Back in the day he would put on the best shows, the energy was incredible, and the audience participation was great.
Roll Me Away is one of my fav later Seger tunes, but his earlier stuff (Nutbush City Limits cover, Get Outta Denver, Ramblin Gamblin Man, Turn the Page, and more) are my all-time favs. BTW trivia - Bob was a track and field athlete back in high school. Great reaction!
@@JayyeStone Right back at you- no one seems to react to live Nutbush City cover, which is absolute 🔥 and Roll Me Away is another personal all time Bob fave. Nicely done sir.
You fellas keep finding your way to the good stuff. Not the Biggest Seger fan, but this is his All Time best, to me. Reflective, all the feelings you all received. I liked that the who tone of the music reflects the push. Keep going ...
I love Bob Seger! Once Tom Cruise slid across that floor in Risky Business, that was it. Now I see that his music has a theme: Things were better when we were young. 🙂
Bob is an amazing songwriter and singer, add in the Silver Bullet Band, virtuoso players who formed a super tight, funky backing track to Bob's lead. It just doesn't get any better ❤❤❤ You need to react to their live stuff. Get Out Of Denver, Kathmandu, Sun Spot Baby, etc
Bob Seger reminds me of a Montana rancher who gets really cold in the winter time. I can imagine him trying to herd some cows in a heavy bearskin coat with steam coming out of his mouth. And there's a biting north wind, too. And I can also imagine that he probably ate too much steak that day and is the reason why he sounds a little constipated in this song. But all kidding aside most of his songs are excellent and have a very good ring to them, and the lyrics are something to be admired, too.
You probably did hear it. It was a huge hit. Bob fits in the group of songwriter/storytellers which includes Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, and Jackson Browne.
I saw Bob for his next tour in 1983, and then a few years after that. His performance was exactly like the album, but much better cuz it was live, and the crowd was so lit as well! Definitely one of my top 5 concerts I ever saw and I saw over 70! Btw, the warmup for his 1983 show was Michael Bolton, for his first album. A rock album for those of you who don't know! The tour shirt I bought at the time had this album cover on it!
Great reaction La/Che what can you say about Mr. Seger he is pure heart and passion with his music. He is a legendary musician and singer songwriter. Keep up the great work. I know I sound like a broken record. Just want to make sure you received your package. I know it’s not much but it did mean a lot to me that you two received it.
