  • I had someone ask if it took more power to play low frequencies. Here's a video that shows how frequency and power work together in this thing.

That efficiency is crazy with IB! You and Peter from PSSound have convinced to go IB in my tundra build. I plan to do a blowthrough with my 2 Stereo Integrity SQL-15’s and then hopefully later upgrade to 2 of the 24’s

Awesome work. People just can't wrap thier minds around how efficient and clean IB is. I can't wait to get my 24"s installed this year. Nothing as nice as yours.

The cone area of the 24s also helps. That and sensitivity in the 90s.

So for ib in order to keep 140dB from 25 Hz to 80 Hz is whatever power it makes at the lower frequencies is to put 10x or more power for 1.5 to double the octave

I figured it would be efficient…but not THAT efficient

So how much power do you need to play 30Hz and up in sealed box? Or ported?

How much does cabi airspace affect this?
Like an xB interior compared to an old School 80s toyota single cab pickup? I have an xB right now with a hatch trunk build, but this is super interesting. MY roof hates 37hz and above si I play mostly 32 und under right now.
    This was a single 24" or 2?

This is with two 24s. What's interesting here is watching how the doors react to various frequencies at the same output level.

@@BatdogGarage Yeah, rare for anything to play linear down below 30 or even 25hz

That is pretty interesting...but I was wondering how it would do with the hatch closed. AFAIK (and I don't really follow SPL, so I could be wrong) you have to close everything up. I remember going to a show in around 2000 where a guy ran his standard cab S10 through the lanes, he had 2 10" Rockfords in truck boxes behind the seat. His first shot showed 170dB on the meter,,,and everyone pointed out he had the windows, sunroof and back slider open. So he ran through again with everything closed and he got a 138dB. So, that was a big difference. For demos, it'll be sick...but if you actually compete SPL will you be able to run with the hatch open?

Everything forward of the baffle/wall is closed up on this for this video. Hatch open shouldn’t be an issue. It’s like any other walled vehicle with amps in the back.
MECA measures at one headrest with the opposite window open.
It really depends on the organization and class.
