    watched you installing front hub w/bearings. they need to be torqued to 5-7 ft pounds. especially important if using synthetic grease. doing the old way just by feel,you can wind up with 25-30 ft pounds on the bearings(synthetic) which can cause bearing failure. did it once.

      Designed and made my own pieces years ago, from drop and scrap material when I found them, and lathe time (not a machinist). Bought a welder, did work; bought a bigger welder, did more work; bought a TIG machine, and continue to work. Learn something new every time I build something. Not a lot of money involved, just patience, effort, experience, and building upon that. We all start from square one, unless we make excuses for not starting (

    Huge Miller fan boy here.....why would Miller continue to build the Millermatic 190? 230 only, good up to 1/4". For another 300.00 you can get a Millermatic 211. 110 or 230 and good for up to 3/8"

      @@gernblanston4956 as a guy who makes housings for a living it was ok ish we tig weld everything including the housing and i have never seen welds that big that housing must of had huge gaps from the tubes. And our tubes are turned on a lathe never hand cut and grinded

      @@pauldionne1665 i meen it will do what they want with out falling apart but that housing was probably made for a 3 1/4 or 3 1/2" tubes and that company just filled it with weld looks awful

      It will be interesting to see how long those turbos last! That little engine is a powerful engine though. The cost of one of those turbos might be the cost of another engine ? Love to see how long they last ( Twin Turbos ).

      Since it's not a daily driver it's a non issue. Personally a Coyote would be cool. But availability wasn't great when they built this.

      @@bigboreracing356 wow that is truly incredible. That is alought more mileage than I expected. I have seen these turbos crap out with fewer than 50,000 miles, without the engine being abused at all. Ford had a diesel turbo in the 90's that was just poop. 35,000 miles was all 1 turbo would go.

      There were three main manufacturers for 2 speed rear ends. International, Columbia, and Eaton. They are more commonly used on your commercial heavy duty trucks. As for the pre 80s medium & heavy duty pickups/trucks, years and models varied.

      @@impavitus I've been watching several TH-cam series; powernation, etc.. and they use a torque wrench with a specific Guage that measured bolt stretch when tightening studs on heads and main caps. The engines were LS and Coyote engines for street/strip use.

    That whole rear housing is overkill for that engine.

      If you overbuild it you can drive and not worry about it breaking. Plus with tuning and bigger turbos that v6 can make some healthy power.

      @@bmstylee The weak point here would be the standard gear housing and a clutch-type limited slip. If you really worried about a regular housing deflecting just weld on a common back brace. This is, of course, just a commercial for Currie's product and the bragging rights associated.

      None the design is a ford 9" nothing was made by ford tho its the most common type because of the tail bearing on the pinion allowing for alot more hp

      @@2511jeremy - I would call it a Curie or an aftermarket 9" Ford Design. The pinon gear is supported by three bearings and being able to set the 'pumpkin" on the bench instead of the entire axle is cool too. Lighter than a Dana 60 as well. The clips that retained the axles on the GM 12 bolt was a bogus design.

      I would assume RWD, if it were gonna be 4x4 they would have made a point out of it. Instead of an axle build bed be seeing a high HP transfer case video, or something. Who knows. Love me some all wheel launches though, would be wicked to see

    Seriously? Two passes are needed for welding the axle housing. Your single pass is marginal. your issues started with your bevel grind not being correct. About that parking brake.... Are you planning on disassembling it later to put in the rest of the mechanism?
