I really love videos like this where we get to look back on everything that's happened and see what's been fixed in what hasn't. I know I personally am still having problems with the Fatalities system. But all in all it's always nice just to look and see what's been done

Thank you, Eradicati0n for this amazing recap! Unfortunately, the headhunters / witch hunters event, NEVER happened on offline mode (Single player) on both XBOX and PS5 consoles!! Till today (OCT, 6TH 2024), for both maps Exiles lands and Siptah, There's no caravan, not a single one, nowhere to be found and do the trades with the merchants!! That's really disappointing, sad and truly hurts, to see how abandoned the consoles communities are!! First off, I am a huge fan of this game, with my 3 steam accounts, I have over 12k hours in the game. Just over half my time in the game was spent as an admin on PvE/RP private servers. Having said that, conan/funcom has had its ups and downs. They have their wins and their failures, I don't line micro transactions, but I keep buying the stuff, it's my opinion that in the balance between PvP and PvE mistakes were made but also ultimately the RP community will outlast the PvP so focusing on a mix now will help Funcom maintain popularity and income. I love the game, it checks more boxes in a game than most, but it's the community and the modding community that ultimately prolong the life of this game. So, as long as funcom keeps adding systems and content that at least does not hinder play, they will remain relevant.
I agree with pretty much all of that tbh. The microtransactions mostly quite overpriced but I wouldn't blame someone for buying a set if they like it, especially if they get their money's worth of enjoyment from using that set. Conan's has some of the best modders IMO. Huge variety of stuff, made with passion and care, and the occasional mod that does stuff you didn't even think was possible. I imagine Funcom are already aware of just how important the modding community is, they've said things in past streams/blogs to the effect of that. Honestly, if the devs can clean up the bugs with the recent update cadence changes, the game would be in a pretty good place IMO. They're far and away the biggest problem, and whilst not all the content updates will please everyone, they please nobody if people can't play the game properly
Everytime I come see these videos, I have said my character still can not put on gear. Around two days ago, it was finally fixed. I believe it was six months and now I can play the game again.
The bug where thralls become stuck and unable to move came around the same time the new thrall commands were introduced. Yes age of war was mostly bad for conan, not just in bugs they introduced but in the choices they made

(i LOATHE some of the bazaar pricing. but a lack of cash flow kills games. a lot of the time what i'm hearing seems less like "these prices need to be adjusted" and more like "let the game die.") if you're just trying to have a good time and see if the devs can course correct, you will come across hordes of players online who say we should all just give up and quit because funcom has sold out and nothing is improving. any time they post a community update on steam people show up in droves to start trolling, and clown emoji anyone who says something positive. i guess they don't know you can right click and choose to see less announcements from a specific game? as for the youtube crowd, why even click on a video for a game you now hate? maybe i need to join the coffee cult discord or something. hopefully there's some real positivity to be found there. i told my friends on the official server i play on i was shocked anyone was nice, because the crowd online generally seems to be pretty miserable. i guess ultimately the real win is all of this is engagement for this channel, which happens to be one i really like lol. grumble away, i suppose. 😩
thinking more on this after watching some pvp videos (yikes!), and it makes total sense that the crowd is like this when the game was marketed as a pvp game. the MO of many pvpers is petty grievances and the inability to let go. that's how you get people trolling in comments online instead of doing anything else positive; stewing in that negativity was already ingrained for them lol. i figured it out! time to find my people lmao.
Thank you! I try to be as balanced as possible 😂 The unhappy players are usually the loudest, mostly because satisfied people don't really shout about it too much. Not to say that a lot of the criticisms aren't warranted, far from it, that's just how the cookie crumbles. I definitely don't think that Conan is unsalvagable though, it would have died a long time ago if that were the case. Pretty much every game has a lot of negativity now, even good ones, but it is what it is. We can only hope that the devs listen, recognize their mistakes, and improve. With the update changes coming, I've got some hope they can do that, I don't think Conan Exiles is doomed at all yet. Also, you're more than welcome to join the Coffee Cult Discord! We've got channels for posting builds, talking about the game, memes and so on. It's a pretty nice group, if I do say so myself 😂
senpai noticed me!! i snuck in last night, it seems nice in there. ❤️ mostly what i've taken away from this is i'm gonna have to actually find communities instead of skimming around as a tourist, because the surface level crowd tends to be a real piece of work. i see people saying the game is already dead and on life support, meanwhile the daily population is typically 2-3x of an mmo i play that's _also_ still trucking along after years of being called dead (swtor, if anyone is curious). 🤔 i appreciate your levelheaded content, and tell everyone who will listen to watch your videos to learn how to build 🤣
It's funny to me that you LOVE Aesir as a building set. I personally HATE its aesthetics, and I hated the influx of so much "Viking" themed stuff. I skipped the entire season it was based around, and I never buy any of the Aesir/Vanir themed items from the Bazaar. In terms of making money, I know that many other Conan players besides myself simply tuned out for the Aesir/Vanir themed season, so I for one am glad we saw them stop making the flood of Aesir and Vanir items.
Honestly, over years worth of updates this has been a really rough cycle with known issues not being resolved, introducing new issues/bugs, and poor communication and implementation. Lore wise the content has been decent.
im havin problems like sometimes my character be falling thru the ceiling tiles or when i load in ill be half submerged in the ceiling tiles or my thralls would be submerged in the ground and its so annoying specaily when im in my base an im runnin in to my base and i fall thru the ceilling tiles
it's very annoying. i park my combat thralls on the ground outside; when i fall through the floor, relogging usually fixes it. when i load in and i'm underwater (my house is on stilts over a lake) i don't freak out bc the breath meter isn't visible. once i move or jump everything fixes itself. i hear non-official servers have this problem much less.
It has to do with the load order, basically built structures are last, and official servers being dog crap that causes you to load in just before your base does. It's unfortunate sure, but the easy fix is to never play on anything official.
I personally hated what they did to the radial menu when it came to thralls. I liked being able to quickly command my thralls to into aggressive or passive mode with just the wheel. Now when I have more than 1 thralls i have to go into each thralls menu and put them on aggressive or passive mode. This is one of many examples of the dev team adding by subtraction. There are some described in this video. I really hope they can do better going forward.
Personally, I did like the poitain knight stuff. Not as much as I hoped. But I've been looking for more Medieval esthetics to get put into the game. Though I kinda ended up not being a big fan of massing the torso piece for thralls, but find the rest of the outfit to look pretty good mixing with the DLC Poitian Armors. The frog-mouth helm being a huge upgrade from the ugly as hell calvary helm.
I liked the aesthetics of it for sure, it was just the pricing and the bugs really. I can only think of one, maybe two bundles where the team has missed in terms of design, they rarely ever falter on that front
I think I had just ONE instance of one of the witchhunter/headhunter events on Single-Player, a single instance of Grave Matters near the Mounds of the Dead, and that was it.
Now the Age of Heroes bugs are breaking the game! Oh, Joy! Thralls going missing in a “grey state” and some completely vanishing from my list entirely. Quest line for Freya stuck without being to progress. Fatalities happening at random, even mid combo. Barkeeps packed up and left my tavern empty. So, my question now is…if the issue was “we forced content because we didn’t take our time”, what the hell is the excuse this time Funcom !?!?!
I was not fan of Age of war and the battlepass system so im happy its gone. I stopped playing when that chapter hit so Im eager to get back and see how the game have evolved.
Best chapter from this age was 2 New purge is fun and the worst was chapter 4 fatality made fighting 4-8 thralls at once impossible. i can't count how many times i died because of fatality simply stuck on animation while the enemies surround you & stagger you to death and you cant do anything about it.
@@syncopatedglory true but not when you playing on official servers. honestly they should gives us an option to turn it off for our characters or at least switch up the key so we don't accidentally trigger fatality while group of enemies chasing us
Chapter three broke the camel's back as they say lol.....i stopped playtesting after. C4 was meh and i recorded many glitches with combat that was supposed to be fixed. Bugs that needed to be addressed for years are still there. Ah well put more stuff on it and see if it sticks. I'll remain positive but a little more jaded. Let's see if bugs are handled better for AoH.
Yep, thralls just randomly go inert and cease to take any action whatsoever. It's going to be so amusing when the same can be said for crafters as well.
@@VeridianHerald Not just that, but my elephant ran off randomly and grabbed like 10 skeleton mobs and brought them all back for us to wipe, didnt lif a finger the whole time :P joy
One of Funcom's worst moves was to try and force players to hunt for legendary weapons. Instead of just making them better, they just nerfed pretty much all craftable options. Draconic weapons used to be top tier, now they are pretty useless, especially the bow, which got the damage nerf, but not the carrier boost to compensate. Most eldarium gear is now brittle, as if nerfing the effects wasn't enough, now they last less than steel gear, making already brittle weapons like daggers all but useless outside of serving as follower weapons. Most exotic weaponry is now below hardened steel usefulness. Additionally, pets keep getting nerfed for no apparent reason. Why is the greater Rocknose getting nerfed each update? This pet is not as easy to get as a Shaleback, or a wolf. To make it worse, Brutus, the poster pet for Siptah, was turned from the best dog, into a bad joke, They basically gave him the power attack of a hyena, and the armor of a wolf. If they wanted to balance that pet, they just should turn him directly into a greater wolf, and leave it at that. The nerf on the giant snake was understandable though. I wish they'd give the alpha cobra the same hit box of the cocodriles.
The ones along Newb River or have they done it to others as well now? If the ones along Newb River that disappeared those, atleast from what I could tell playing with and without my internet connection active, look to have had their spawns completely replaced with the Great Hunt npcs' spawn and dodad set making them empty when that event isn't running or when you are not connected to whatever server Conan Exiles requires us to be connected to, independant from Steam, to confirm account stuff. It's twice over annoying since allot of the spawn locations that they overwrote were really nice thrall farming spots.
I would love that, though I think it's a technical impossibility in the engine. From what I understand, the map limit just couldn't support it. There's also the lore issue of Siptah being west/south-west of Stygia and TEL not being anywhere on the map of Thuria. If they re-enable server transfers, I think a portal would be the best way
We'll have to watch the player falloff after the next update... removal of the battlepass has just left me with nothing new to do in-game... a real lack of new content - just recycling old events and small mechanics updates (and the related bugs).
I don't doubt the Battle Pass gave some end-game players stuff to do where there may have been a bit of a void before. In an ideal world, I'd rather that be deep and permanent content as opposed to the "cheap" retention of a Battle Pass, though we'll have to see if the devs share my thinking, I'm hopeful they do. There isn't a lot of deep, permanent content in the upcoming update, but hopefully it will come in subsequent ones, seeing as it appears they're still working on cleaning up the Age of War mess
working without admin mode bites, as you have to manually gather all the materials 😤 it would severely slow down his work flow. he isn't using any cheats for placement, and he lets us know when the pieces are from mods
The sacred grind (for me) highlighted the dev's lack of consideration for players. 5K hours in conan is already a lot, the sacred grind told me my time (and other players) in the game was not a calculation to the devs and is never going to be
Yeah I'm not sure what possessed them to balance it in that way 😂 I could maybe understand if the rewards were permanent account-bound knowledge, but as character-bound, the grind far outweighs them. If it returns with a strong rebalancing and some new rewards, I could see it being a lot better this time around
@@Eradicati0nn yeah definitely, I actually really liked it tbh, the lore that came with it too. Forces that the might of the stygian could not vanquish and linger as a threat to their empire (if I understood it correctly)
@@copious983 Yeah that's what I get from it, the actions of man ending up rousing the gods, and consequences in general. I'm interested to see the overarching story of the Age of Heroes, we haven't seen much of one yet but I have a feeling that Living Settlements is the foundation for a system that might bring about that story
loss of battle pass is bigger loss than most realise . for 10 buck or potentially free it offered good value and extra goals/reason to play the game for many . now its just gonna be BADLY overpriced bazaar , which will eat up majority of whatever creativity "devs" have left in them . and bugs .
I'd argue the Devs complete lack of support for Modders is leading to the end. I almost always played in low fantasy rp servers, but I haven't bothered for a year because server was always down or mod got broken. Hard to invest time in worldbuilding and getting attached to a character to not be able to play because another mod is jank now. Just played on and off in vanilla servers mainly just to look at the new stuff and mechanics for a bit then come back a month later.
Golem and stargazers fn stupid..it's conan not transformers..hunt was good..the nite time werewolves attack was awesome..random raider attacks be pretty cool..the prisioners to rescue are cool..but some stuff was excessive.
It's not just bugs, it's a slow but steady decline in quality and price to performance sine the age of sorcery. Most of my friends who I used to play Conan with, don't even want to hear about the game, unless it's a full restructure starting from the CEO and devs. And I agree, I my self still have a active ticket about all the bugs with the dungeon set, that I payed money for. Still unresolved. Talking about the upcoming patch/expansion whatever, from what I see from your videos and other creators, the amount of content in this patch is barely interesting and would last for a day or maybe 2? So a question comes to mind - wtf were the devs doing all this time? The game is literally declining since age of sorcery.
have you played the test live or are you calling something boring that you haven't even played? weird that you would choose to focus on the living settlements and not the new companion storylines
I never liked AOW, i never bothered to attack El Merraya fortress, i just killed the idiots outside to get a huge amount of loot. This by the way was really bad as it gives you so much high quality weapons or food that you don't need to craft anymore. It's an annoying way to dumb down the game for casual who want high end stuff without having to work for it. I also never was interested in the sacred hunt, all that grind is not what i like. Basically this age was a change in gameplay from a crafting, building experience to a hack and slash, loot for lazy players.
Barely any better than AoW3, even though it took double them time. At this point, I understand that funcom had incompetent management for many years, but it is probably too late to rely on their devs, who given the time, still failed to deliver. Communication was, is and will be abysmal, but this is the culture of a a chinese-run capitalist company, overpromise, never deliver, only come up with silly excuses, like an elementary school kid.
I think you're taking this beyond simple corporate mismanagement and turning it into a racist diatribe. That formulate above you described is not simply indicative of anything Chinese, but just Western Capitalism and Corporatism entirely.
@@white-noisemaker9554 CE is like the explding chair from China in the early 2000s, exactly what Reagan envisioned for us, the thralls... those born-rich of Musk and Trump ;)
Bugs and needless tinkering has hurt CE, but what kills CE is the lack of new map, substantial content, and the pricing of bazaar. This makes people get bored. The game is getting old and without these it will be dying off soon.

thinking more on this after watching some pvp videos (yikes!), and it makes total sense that the crowd is like this when the game was marketed as a pvp game. the MO of many pvpers is petty grievances and the inability to let go. that's how you get people trolling in comments online instead of doing anything else positive; stewing in that negativity was already ingrained for them lol. i figured it out! time to find my people lmao.
Thank you! I try to be as balanced as possible 😂
The unhappy players are usually the loudest, mostly because satisfied people don't really shout about it too much.
Agreed, the age as a whole has been rough at best. The team never really misses on lore and story IMO, but the bugs largely hampered the experience
game crashes nightly for me but I still really enjoy playing...thank you for all your content.🙂
im havin problems like sometimes my character be falling thru the ceiling tiles or when i load in ill be half submerged in the ceiling tiles or my thralls would be submerged in the ground and its so annoying specaily when im in my base an im runnin in to my base and i fall thru the ceilling tiles
it's very annoying. i park my combat thralls on the ground outside; when i fall through the floor, relogging usually fixes it. when i load in and i'm underwater (my house is on stilts over a lake) i don't freak out bc the breath meter isn't visible. once i move or jump everything fixes itself. i hear non-official servers have this problem much less.
@@Eradicati0nn That's true, most bundles are generally pretty hefty in prices that's for certain
I think I had just ONE instance of one of the witchhunter/headhunter events on Single-Player, a single instance of Grave Matters near the Mounds of the Dead, and that was it.
I've encounter Grave Matters a few times near the Summoning Place... Never got a Magi Skull for it, Just Serpentman statues and other random treasure.
Best chapter from this age was 2 New purge is fun and the worst was chapter 4 fatality made fighting 4-8 thralls at once impossible. i can't count how many times i died because of fatality simply stuck on animation while the enemies surround you & stagger you to death and you cant do anything about it.
i think i've seen people say you can turn fatalities off
@@syncopatedglory true but not when you playing on official servers. honestly they should gives us an option to turn it off for our characters or at least switch up the key so we don't accidentally trigger fatality while group of enemies chasing us
Thx for video. Super building ;)
So dose anyone have a issue where thralls stop attacking until they are hit even when you tell them to attack. Yes they are even set on aggressive
I wish that strength builds were made more viable for pvp
Why are thralls whole camps disappearing? I log on daily wtf
Make exiles lands and siptah one map separated by a ocean with buildable ships
I would love that, though I think it's a technical impossibility in the engine. From what I understand, the map limit just couldn't support it.
There's also the lore issue of Siptah being west/south-west of Stygia and TEL not being anywhere on the map of Thuria. If they re-enable server transfers, I think a portal would be the best way
take this free for the good of the coffee cult.
Ran into ppl bugging into bases on official... really kills it.. It's a pve-c server.
Love the builds I would love to see how you do it without admin would help me out some lol
working without admin mode bites, as you have to manually gather all the materials 😤 it would severely slow down his work flow. he isn't using any cheats for placement, and he lets us know when the pieces are from mods
@syncopatedglory he ca gather all the materials just don't build in admin mood that's all
They need to scrap battle eye and get a better cheat detector
It is broken on the PlayStation Network still, has been for months. I haven't even played. They really need to do a better job.
Falling thru foundations and falling thru foundations 😂
I'm interested to see the overarching story of the Age of Heroes, we haven't seen much of one yet but I have a feeling that Living Settlements is the foundation for a system that might bring about that story
loss of battle pass is bigger loss than most realise . for 10 buck or potentially free it offered good value and extra goals/reason to play the game for many . now its just gonna be BADLY overpriced bazaar , which will eat up majority of whatever creativity "devs" have left in them . and bugs .
I quit from Conan and I really glad that, game is good but devs are so lazy to fix their game
Last update all the way back on April 2nd. feels like a lifetime ago. The upcoming chapter? Barely any content to speak of.
The whole age has been awful, not just chapter 4
Pretty much the whole AoW was the Age of Meh. And so far the Age of Heroes seems pretty boring. I don't play CE to watch my thralls take a nap.
have you played the test live or are you calling something boring that you haven't even played? weird that you would choose to focus on the living settlements and not the new companion storylines
Funcom only cares about RP PvE players
CE is like a black market product that killed someone? ok.
i think white-noisemaker has a point. funcom is norwegian and tencent did not become its parent until 2020.
Bugs and needless tinkering has hurt CE, but what kills CE is the lack of new map, substantial content, and the pricing of bazaar. This makes people get bored. The game is getting old and without these it will be dying off soon.
You clearly have Never experienced this game on consoles .
May be have a look.
the engine of conan exiles sucks the base game is so solid as well as the conan universe
,the game crashed I lose thralls and work waisted hours delete the game soon
