    Ohhhh! Im sooo going to try this! Great idea. Finding nice bath towels is never easy so why not make one, two or MORE! Im also thinking of possibly a rug? I do like the way you pronounce chenille, we in US say Sha' neal. See your way is much more eloquent. Yay For your mom and her lovely weaving!!!! I didnt know M Brassard made such a book of all the yarns. Another must do. Ty again for another lovely vid! Happy Weaving!

    I've just discovered you and I have been daydreaming of weaving for the last week. I am have been a Quilter for 10 years, so this is new territory. Very exciting though and I plan on getting a smaller 20" loom to start then investing in a large one if I love it and when we move to somewhere with more room 😅 my craft room could quickly take up my whole home haha

      I used only 1 thread in each slot and hole. I think it could be interesting to try them double and see the difference!

    oh if I ever have the space/money for a loom I'm for sure trying this (and I'll make sure to use your affiliate links to buy the yarn)
    normal terrycloth towels have such a bad feel to me, and these seem like they're probably softer and maybe a bit smoother? I'd probably try a sample first just to make sure, but I'm sure the feeling can't be worse than the terrycloth
    besides, it's just cool to make it myself!

    Always inspiring and informative videos, thank-you! Do you often find that the M Brassard yarns have issues with colours running? What is the ratio of vinegar to water that you use?

    • @Curly_n_Yarny
      @Curly_n_Yarny  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks 🥰 I have never had issues of colour running with M. Brassard yarns. This being said, I always make sure to fix it with vinegar to be extra safe. I don't really measure when I mix vinegar and water 🤔 I'll try to measure it for my next project and come back to you with a more precise answer 😌

      Depending on the color, Brassards thread does bleed. Some more than others. You can use Color Grabbers during the wet finish wash. They work beautifully.

    Hello and thank you for the Video! ❤ How hot can you wash those towels and could you guess how much of a bobbin of the chenille did you use for one towel? Thanks a lot!

    • @Curly_n_Yarny
      @Curly_n_Yarny  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello! Those are good questions! In my household, we only wash with cold water, so I'm not exactly sure how hot you could wash them. Maybe the manufacturer could help you with that. Still, I put them in the dryer no-problem! Also, this project was done a while ago and I did a poor job at taking precise notes about the weft. One thing is sure, the amount of weft yarn needed will depend on the size of the towel. I'm guessing one cone would have been enough for the smaller towel, maybe a bit more for the longer one. I hope this help!

      Thank you! That's a good question. I have made this project a while ago and sadly my notes were not too precise on this matter. That's awesome! Welcome into the great world of weaving! This cotton chenille is from Maurice Brassard and I'm lucky enough to live only 1h away from their factory so I can buy directly from them. If you are in Canada, I believe it's possible to order from them online, but their website is not really user friendly. If you are in the United States, The Woolery holds this yarn. • @jacalynbledsoe3717

    Why on earth would anyone use chenille for bath towels?? It eventually will fall apart when washed. I use a 3/2 cotton warp with a boucle for the weft. I wash them in hot water and throw into the dryer. You can't do that with chenille however, it does make very pretty scarves, and blankets.

    • @Curly_n_Yarny
      @Curly_n_Yarny  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe we might not be talking about the same kind of chenille yarn. In my video, I'm using COTTON chenille, not Rayon chenille. I have washed my towels many times and I have put them in the dryer many times. They always come out great. And I agree, cotton boucle can also make great towels 😊

      @@Curly_n_Yarny I am sorry I thought you were talking about rayon Chenille. How much shrinkage? I just finished a bathsheet. 31 inches x 68 inches. 3/2 cotton warp and Boucle weft. Pattern from LunaticFringe for either 4 or 8 shaft. I bet you could transpose it to a RHL!!

    • @Curly_n_Yarny
