this was a great video. so this is ideal if i need to move and take the legs apart without worry, right? instead of just screwing it directly and risk striping the wood if i want to take the legs apart
The size I use for everything is 400-4 because 1/4 inch bolts thread into them. I believe they are made more for hardwoods but I've used them on pine without any trouble. Just do not over tighten the bolts to be on the safe side
What would I need to do to fix a table leg that has broken because the insert worked its way loose/out? Please help! Husband doesn't care about DIY and isn't bothered about lack of table! Sick of TV dinners!!!😂
This can be a tricky situation. What I would do is remove the threaded insert completely glue a dowel in place of the threaded insert and then redrill the hole in reinsert to the threaded insert
Great video! I’ve watched several other similar videos and this one in particular was easy to follow and straight to the point. Thanks!
Thanks for watching I really appreciate the kind words
Love the amazing commentary
😂 audio is a little shaky

Thank you sir👍👍👍
Awesome video! What kind of adhesive should one use on the threads?
Thanks for watching, I recommend starbond ca glue for the threads
I just came here from they clips that didnt allow wood to expand by enlarging that steel plates holes. I feel refreshed and calm now.
Making the holes large allowes for season movement
thank you
You're welcome
Thanks, Can ask the recommended threaded insert size for table
Yeah I use the ez lok inserts and this size is the 1/4"x 20
Could you provide a link to the kind of threaded inserts you used? Nice, informative video.
Let me see if I can find the link I ordered them from Amazon
They are "E-Z lock threaded inserts"
@@BuiltKnotBought Thanks! i was just looking at those ...what size do you normally use when attaching to wood, like pine?

What is that t-shaped screw holder called??
It's just a tee wrench it came with the first set of threaded inserts I bought
Where can I get those legs
I welded up the legs myself with 1x3 rectangular tubing
The style is called Trapezium. I purchased a steel pair on Amazon for £100 delivered here in the UK for my desk build.
