At that speed a crash will tare up your hands if you're not wearing protective gloves. You can get breathable motorcycle gloves for warm weather. I crashed going 43mph once and it saved my hands completely. I do large gloves that go over wristgaurds. Then you can take them off and pocket them whenever you're going slow. Not telling you what to do, but I highly highly recommend.
