i was 24 when I first heard this song and went who the heck is this!!!!!!!!!!! im almost 54 now and still it hypnotizes me into singing like a lunatic for 5 minutes.
bearhouse34 This crowd is as corny as any mtv contrivance . While I absolutely love Live , the forum is something that only an overly young goofball would think of as cool or intimate . ( - The clapping of hands keeping time at the beginning of the song was beyond goofy . )( Fucked up the whole vibe of the song . )
There is something with the guy at 1:40 that just brings me pure joy. The ability to just complitely loose yourself in the moment to music, standing in a crowd where everyone else is doing the same. The feeling of belonging and being in the now. Its a feeling that i long for a lot of the time. Its feels like i have lost it a long the way some how. Like when i was a kid it was there all the time. But its seems like when adulthood starts it just starts to fade
Lightning crashes a new mother cries Her placenta falls to the floor The angel opens her eyes The confusion sets in Before the doctor can even close the door Lightning crashes an old mother dies Her intentions fall to the floor The angel closes her eyes The confusion that was hers Belongs now to the baby down the hall Oh now feel it, comin' back again Like a rollin', thunder chasing the wind Forces pullin' from The center of the earth again I can feel it Lightning crashes a new mother cries This moment she's been waiting for The angel opens her eyes Pale blue colored iris Presents the circle And puts the glory out to hide, hide Oh now feel it, comin' back again Like a rollin', thunder chasing the wind Forces pullin' from The center of the earth again I can feel it Oh now feel it, comin' back again Like a rollin', thunder chasing the wind Forces pullin' from The center of the earth again I can feel it Oh now feel it, comin' back again Like a rollin', thunder chasing the wind Forces pullin' from The center of the earth again I can feel it
My god! That was incredible! The timing couldn't be more perfect when in the middle of the song he sings, "An old mother cries" and they show the middle aged woman crying, that was just beautiful.
Eyesofwrathvox With all respect , - do you really believe that it happened at that actual moment , - or that they may well have flown it in at any time they pleased with editing ? !
Best live perfomance by any band was this full concert!!! Every time i watch this full concert, it makes me wish i was there, the crowd sounds so great with them to and amazing performance
Ongoing world, an old life passes, a new life is born. Attend a funeral one day, a baby shower the next day. Just a beautiful song, I keep watching various videos of it. It does not get old.
2:24 Lightning Crashes and an old mother cries... As if the lyrics from '94 were meant for this moment! If I could only once have the same experience that she was having at that time.
Wow, this song is so teriffic for me. I don't have any kids, but the song itself gives me a lot of chills, especially when the crowd is singing the refrain. The location is also very cool. Awesome album!
Nederlanders are the best rock audiences in the world! There's real emotional response in this clip. Bands must LOVE playing there. If I had a my own music, that's where I'd want to bring it,
I'll second that. I don't know if the Dutch crowds are always this in tune and enthused but that was a special concert. Amsterdam of all places man...and the band played great that night.
Klopt helemaal. Zeker bij dit nummer en dit optreden. Genieten. Wat een kracht, wat een energie. Geweldig. Nederlanders zijn prachtig. Ben er heel trots op.
This is one of the best concert songs ever. My family, friends and I were fortunate enough to live near Philly and have Live be a 'local' band to the area and play many concerts around here over the years. We've seen them loads of times and consider them to be 'our band'. A shame that they split up and don't perform on tour anymore because their name suited them as they were brilliant 'live'. Ed really knows how to command a stage with his presence. This song was always the one that got the crowd united in spirit and voice and shook the rafters of whatever venue Live were playing. I so miss seeing them in concert, but thankful I got to attend as many as I did.
This performance is absolutely epic! Its ok to dream.....my dream is to see these guys after the pandemic days are over. People need to rock out and these guys would definitely bring it!!
@@stefanhodges6227 Ed now has control of the band name and is touring with new members as Live. There's a whole heap of money issues that has been plaguing them for years. It's such a shame as Pat's Bass work makes this song and Chad Gracy's drumming is phenomenal.
Fucking awesome crowd and amazing band. What a great freakin crowd! I wish American crowds were half as good as this. Such a great crowd! I get Drunk and listen to this and think about my DAD!
absolutly amazing on full volume and better than studio the passion and vocals are the best Such a great crowd! I get Drunk and listen to this and think about my DAD!
This clip got me in to Live years a go, awesome footage from Paradiso in Amsterdam. After more than 10 years they will perform here again tomorrow and I’m going. I can’t wait!
Seeing that woman cry @2:19 made me cry and I don't cry easily. Very diverse crowd. I met this band 5 years ago and got to see Live, play Live....too good.
@@montello33 Interesting, we see very differently. As someone who considered empathic this is not what I picked up on at all. If you look up his parents, you will see that's not her. Had I seen this before, I would have asked when I met him if he noticed the woman or known her in some way though again not what I picked up on. Her pain did not feel of that of a 'proud mama' at least not to me. Would be interesting to know what other empaths experiences while watching her.
The crowd sounded good when they sang with him towards the end. I bet hundreds of spirits connected at that moment. A new mother cries. The angel opens her eyes. An old mother dies. The angel closes her eyes. The confusion that was hers belongs now, to the baby down the hall.
this came on the radio as i was struggling to keep it together driving home from a rocket launch at Kennedy Space Center. Just before it came on the acid finally hit me, untimely. Never felt so deep in a song and i love music to death
Hard to believe there was so much tension in the band during this time. Apparently Ed was critical of the guitar player's tone during this tour, which was one of the final straws before his departure for a bit.
LIVE IS LIVE. They are just a great band. Loved their music and style from the early 2000s. The lead singer has a unique voice (but, only one for this type of music and their songs). His band is outstanding and the songs are written with passion. There is too much R&B, and pop-culture nowadays (not that I mind it), but it is always nice to have some real music.
The Temple for Music, Paradiso Amsterdam! I think any artist that played here, or is gonna play here in the future will experiance that there is no better audience then the dutch in a Temple like that!
I really miss the 90s. Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice In Chains, The Offspring, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Marcy Playground, Sublime, Bush, Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine, Korn, Deftones, Filter, Collective Soul, and of course....Live. Just wanted to give a shout out to these guys that changed music forever. This song rocks by the way.

Dutch crowd = is the best crowd in the whole universe. Trust me. Im a part of it =D especially with a masterpiece like lightning crashes. Absoluteley addicted to this song,. To this kind of music
Ed Kowalcyzk is great but during some song parts he gets this crazed look on his face (03:23) that kinda shows his internal crazy - like when he’s not on stage he’s one of those people hanging in the park talking to trees. Good singer tho
It is beautiful song abou't hope , not the death of a birth . Which somebody incorrectly pointed out , pop video for the song is misleading , lead singer confirmed more than once that it is infact a happy song abou't hope .
A man once played this at an open mike night 24yrs. ago in HI.. & it was amazing. He was a beautiful, incredible human being.
RIP Adrian🌹
Throwing Copper is still one of THE best albums ever made and this has to be the best song of their entire career!!

Highly underrated song. It's an absolute cracker!
Damn Ed man, always bringing tears to my eyes.
This song helped me through some difficult times. Kind of gives you hope. Everything seems lost but this song takes you somewhere else.

The angel opens her eyes

The center of the earth again

This moment she's been waiting for
The angel opens her eyes
Pale blue colored iris
Presents the circle
And puts the glory out to hide, hide
