  • How to use the HBHF Sensor the correct way - RUST Electric Guide
    I say OR switch in this video a lot... its AND switch, only the AND switch... AND, AND, AND!! :-)
    So this RUST electric guide video is all around the HBHF sensor and how to use it properly. In this RUST guide I will show you how it functions and I will even show you how to properly wire it up using the AND switch.
    The HBHF sensor is short for heart, breath, heat and footstep and basically means it will detect anyone within a 20 metre radius and output 1 power when it does. If there's more than 1 person the HBHF sensor will output an additional 1 power for every additional person.
    I will show you the best trap base design I've found with this HBHF sensor and I will even show you step by step how to build the circuit to make a really deadly and effective HBHF trap base.
    I hope you enjoy this RUST tips and tricks electricity video starring the HBHF sensor. I really hope you enjoy the trap base design and even build it and get some good results from it.

      I'm currently trying to figure out how to make a smart switch door opener and closer system that uses an HBHF and a timer to close my internal garage doors automatically when the HBHF sensor doesn't detect me in my base after a set amount of time. I'd be able to open and close my internal doors with Rust+ like a standard setup but it would be idiot-proofed somewhat in case I forget to close them myself but would also stay open as long as I'm in my base moving around. I'm too smoothbrained to figure it out though. If you want to do a video about that kind of setup I'd appreciate it :)

      @@daybidbanderbecht5299 What do you mean by "sensor doesn't detect me in my base after a set amount of time"?
      The HB sensor will detect you if in range. If your open circuit is done correctly, the doors will close when you're out of range. Can you please clarify your question?

    Thank you for the AND switch thing.. i used to use hbhf a lot before they made it 1 power max output, found a complicated video that use memory cell and some other component but was too confusing to remember on the fly, this just simplified my biggest problem.. never would have guessed 1 comonent would fix it

    Great video! Easy to follow along as a newbie to electric! What would I have to add to the circuit so that once the sensor is triggered it stays on (even if someone goes out of range), and requires a manual reset to turn off again?

    • @joemogley
      @joemogley ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi im a bit late but you can use the Memory Cell.
      The way that cell works is that it has 2 outputs: Output and Inverted Output.
      There are 4 inputs: Power In, Toggle (dont worry abt this one), Reset, and Set.
      Memory cell has a value it stores, 0 or 1. When it's 0, Inverted Output allows power through. When it's 1, Output turns on.
      When power goes into Set, the value changes to 1.
      When power goes into Reset, the value changes to 0.
      Wire the HBHF sensor to Set so that any time it recieves a signal, it will set the Memory Cell to 1, allowing power through.
      Then, to turn it off, wire any input of choice (button, RF reciever, etc) to Reset. When this is triggered, it will set the Memory Cell to 0, no longer allowing power through the normal Output.

    Hey mate, I’ve watched this video completely countless times and I seem to be missing some steps. Basically I can’t quite figure out where the wires in the front door connect to the wires roller doors at the back. I have a similar based what you have except instead of two garage doors. I have three garage doors with three turrets. do you think you can give me some kind of guide to get me through this as I have spend 6 days, trying to figure it out what I’m doing wrong. And the biggest problem is, I know nothing about Electricity in the game or in real life and you obviously are quite good at this and I feel that you are talking quite quickly which would be great if I knew what some of the terminology meant however because you’re talking quite quickly 90% of it’s going right over my head. Is there anything you can do to help open ever in your debt.
    Cheers mate
    Regards
    Goth.

    Personally, I do not advise people to have turrets only be powered when detecting heartbeats. The delay to startup gives significant time to run past, get to cover, etc. Turrets should always be powered on.

    • @DownLow0099
      @DownLow0099 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They do consume power. You need solar and/or wind turbine charging circuit.
      During the day my base runs off the solar/wind with excess power charging batteries. At night it automatically switches over to battery power.
      So really you should only be using batteries at night or for short term power needs

  • @smash8865
    @smash8865 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I started with this and still use it for internal defense. Use a smart switch to allow main power to flow to and and switch with the silent alarms. Activate kill players for a great offline defense.
    The memory cell is another friend of the hbhf, which sends a signal to the SET input, taking the base from safe mode to offline raid defense. I have successfully defended 8 offline raids with none breaching the first door past the kill zone. Doors close behind and others open to reveal exterior sentry turrets while the players inside are electrocuted and my phone tells me i got some free boom/gear. All because the 0 port switched to 1 the raiders are devoured.
