- The story of how I was banned from Wynncraft.
This is my first time ever trying to edit a video for TH-cam (the video editing screams massive amateur hour lol).
This was recorded before the Rekindled World Update released, I'm just incredibly slow at editing... I mean I had to learn everything from scratch so lol. I also wasn't super invested or interested in making this video so that caused some delays.
Also would like to mention that my Spring Quarter for college ended on June 13 so I was legit banned off Wynncraft for the first two weeks of my summer break when I’ve got nothing else to do rofl.

honestly respect for fighting them. I was banned for "flyhacking" once when I was like 14 or something. jokes on me, I wasn't. I was just playing on a really old mac with the worst internet you can imagine. I told them that, the showed a video in which I was just jumping one block higher than the floor and generally lagging around (as in teleporting), which doesn't even make sense. at the time I just said yeah I did that, I'm sorry but it's really bad cause now I'm always afrait that it's going to happen again and I won't be able to do anything about it..I really love wynncraft, but I feel like the moderation team sometimes doesn't know what they're talking about. welp let's just hope it doesn't happen again.. good for you that you could clear the allegations

In one respect I do like that they are actually watching for cheaters, rather than it being fully automated. However, when they’re wrong that’s got to suck. Sorry that happened to you.

i got banned for "flight" and all i did was spam the charge spell for warrior, and this was years ago, the mod had all particles off, couldnt see the spell effects, and just absolutely refused to believe anything else, the video made no sense bc they said it was my "movement" that made it suspicious of flight, if anything the movement i had made it obvious it was a spell
I farmed items at seavale leaf that can be exchanged for emerald. It took a while for the item to respawn, so I was standing in the water. -------, who is now the Mod Manager, banned me for afk grinding without warning. By all accounts, this was not bannable, but since it was banned, I made a ban appeal (Many people did this, include my 2nd account, but ONLY my main account got banned.). He replied to my appeal and amazingly he said 'we have removed all other stuff purchased with ''IRL traded LE'''. I DMed him a message and received his apology, but I am still not satisfied with the sequence of events. I have only met great staff recently, but I am playing with the idea that there are some bad staff from this incident.
It was not a good idea to reveal names and complain. I apologize if anyone was offended.

hope that they will revise their appeal system, a non-assumptive system that encourages giving detail and any evidences available to prove innocence while also having a way for ppl who actually cheated to acknowledge that they were rightfully punished and agree not to continue in pursuit of a lighter punishment or forgiveness would probably be ideal
Unlike Hypixel who false banned me and let a bot reply to my ban appeal, I never turned back after joining Wynncraft

@@henkbroam3747 i got banned because i had minecraft on a second monitor while i watched shows on my main monitor so when i got macro checked the game assumed me not responding was an indication of a macro
I jitterclicked on both mouse buttons too fast while doing slayers, a watchdog appeared and I was banned

I've been following your ban (roughly) for a while, so many people in the raiding community were talking about it, and so many people quit playing rw following your ban. Absolutely blew my mind that YOU of all people got banned w/ your reputation. Great vid and cg on the unban. What a bizarre situation.

holy fuck, the wynn mod team is still horrible. They were the reason I quit in the first place, yet they don't seem to have improved any much in all the years. Guilty until proven innocent is the worst mindset any type of moderator can possess.

@@canadianmedic4341 tbh wynncraft is far more lenient with their rules, a macro like what is permisible in wynncraft would not slide in hypixel, i personally have gotten a fat 30d ban for joking about selling my (high bedwars star) account for 5$
it also seems to be the mindset that bigger servers have largely adopted. one big thing is that a lot of foolish kids cheat and try to worm their way around it by claiming false ban, which wastes staff time and desensitizes them to the prevalence of actual false bans.
which is probably exactly how this happened, and how hypixel false bans seem to go entirely unnoticed even though they're using the equivalent of a bunk outdated NCP tweaked specifically to avoid its trigger happy nature which meshes with their gamemodes horribly by design...
even if all signs point to no they'd stick with yes because it's more efficient to just not care. false bans are rare enough still that this kind of lackadaisical nature gets glazed over and ignored despite many actual instances of inaccurate punishments, and many people just default to assuming you cheated because the average person nowadays seems to massively lack integrity. they wouldn't give themselves the benefit of the doubt, so it's quite a stretch to hope they'd give it to anyone else

i feel u bro in a way, i was supposed to temporally banned for 7 days, turned into a perma ban, and then the perma ban turned into 24 hours ban
I think that's just a way to unban you faster, because after an appeal is accepted you can join after 24h with a tempban... They just perma ban to remove the last temp ban

As a riftwalker, (who actually uses Wynncraft spellmacro mod, which is in fact awesome as it doesn't bug near as much as JS macro's did), i feel enraged, we spent money on this game even though it's free, so they can toss us like garbage based on nothing ;p
Not to talk about the: "why u keep left clicking even though u weren't in combat?", maybe they are The Flash, and it's normal to do such fast movements without a strict and repeatable pattern.

The moderation team is extremely unresponsive, and the appeal process is even more frustrating. They take an unreasonably long time to reply, often ghosting players for days with no form of compensation for the delay. Glad I quit.

This was actually pretty interesting to watch, I've never been banned luckily- and though honestly I feel like I'd still be okay if I was...
The main thing that's scary about the situation is that they didn't (directly) provide an option to appeal without admitting guilt. Being forced to admit guilt to something you're innocent of shouldn't happen, and it shows the importance of recording your gameplay on servers you care about.
Also the video editing was fine for this type of video, you did great! :)

the funniest fucking thing is seeing people get banned for this shit while its basically an open secret atp that a good majority of the endgame community actively macros and abuses glitches for an advantage, and for the longest time mods did fuck all and now they swing 180 and start banning people over the tiniest shit
regarding the end, never apologize or help people make excuses for the shit that they try to pull on the slimmest margins- you have a lot of respect from the community for a reason, and you dont have to turn the other cheek to keep that respect (but if you want to, thats your call too)
Well thats bc macros on their own are not infact bannable 😐 just multi cast looping macros like he said, if it doesnt loop or use more than 1 spell per button you can use macros as much as you want with zero reprecussions
can't even blame the mods. i would of banned you too if you were just spamming complicated spell cycles in the town and at down time moments lol but i would've done some sort of random AFK check
miscasts could be explained by server TPS lag and macros being terrible for Wynncraft now that they added the new goofy ass spell input patch

Yeah, I feel my Ice Snake lengths argument could probably be dismantled by pointing at server TPS fluctuations. The point about afk checks was brought up to me by an ex-Wynn Moderator
The only problem I can see with this argument is that it still doesn't explain the miscasts, and since those miscasts happen like 4-5 times in the span of one and a half minutes, which no looping macroer would have, proves his innocence in and of itself, or at the very least that piece of evidence is invalid and since that was their main evidence then he shouldn't have gotten banned. It's a severe oversight on the moderator's part since this false ban lasted almost a month, they should have checked in on him at least one more time and gotten undeniable/unrefutable proof before banning him.
@@ThingRebelTROLL the tps makes spells mixture, as the macro is in your pc, not on the server, even with single cast macros we cast teleport and heal while cycling
@ThingRebelTROLL it happens more often that you would think. Tps, lag, or a cancel input into movement spell can go very wrong at times. Don't ask how I know.
i LOVE these types of videos and you did Perfect at it. I cant tell if I loved it because of your choice of music or if it was the amazing editing but i can tell you have what it takes to make it big in TH-cam or in any place you have a passion for. you can be so motivating if you want to be and i feel like you are the type of person to never give up on your dreams so keep going and you got this.

11:20 I get your point but as a hypixel skyblock enjoyer I can tell you exactly why this isn’t the case and likely never will be. If wynncraft were to provide the exact reason and evidence of why an account was banned it would make things a lot easier for cheat developers. Since they can test things out and then check the ban appeal to find out what feature caused the ban. Now wynncraft luckily doesn’t have that big of a cheat developing community however providing precise evidence right of the start doesn’t particularly help that.

Giving detailed reasons for every ban is the best way to fast track ruining your game, no more time for development, just an endless bug finding & patching loop.
I've been falsely banned twice, but luckily for me I have friends in the moderation team who pretty quickly got me unbanned.
One of them was basically a forums argument with a mod. we was trying to say I rigged a bid or something, which I didn't do and had proof I didn't do, after I provided the proof I didn't, he proceeded to ask me if I had edited a specific post in that thread of events.
For some context, I have dyslexia, I often misspell things and misword things and I try and fix my spelling mistakes with edits when I can (in fact this comment is probably terribly worded)
None the less, the comment in question was edited for grammar reasons, which I didn't even remember making, so I told the moderater no, I hadn't edited it.
I got banned for "lying to a moderater" and despite being unbanned that same day, I still got warning points, which was frustrating.
incredibly frustrating. you'd think a mod would be able to look up how a post had been edited, and would be able to see that any edit you'd made was only grammatical in nature. i also have a habit of editing 50% of the things i post because i notice some spelling or better way to word something immediately after hitting send. getting banned for that would make me soo frustrated
Great vid! I appreciate all the info for mage and I am surprised how well you handled the false ban. It sucks that there is no good way to appeal if it is not the fault of the player.

Got false banned on hypixel, had all the logs and footage but literally got immediately denied and had a very generic botlike response

yea, the ban appeal is probably phrased that way in order to trick children into admitting their guilt. helps take a lot of stress off the mod team if you have the majority of people just saying "yea i did it lmao"

i remember playing wynncraft in like 2016 or so when i was ~14, asked a mod or admin if smartmoving mod was allowed and they said yes! got banned a few weeks later when climbing up stuff. quit the server after several hundred hours lol

Great vid overall, just wanted to say the problem with listing the exact reason and time of the ban will allow cheaters to know exactly what got them banned, how to cheat the most whilst still being undectected. This is the reason Hypixel bans in waves, so cheaters don’t know.

wait how would they even go about moderating who 'downloads the map', right? like surely you just use a mod that compiles nearby chunk data into a new world folder, just walk around the world with that and you have a replica of the wynncraft world

The fact that the ban appeal automatically assumes your guilt when you probably don't even know why you are banned is insane.

From what I've seen, they only ban you after they record you for a bit, so they have some kind of proof, but it is what it is
Meh. I used to be a moderator on a relatively large PvP server and Wynncraft's system is pretty standard. They thought they proved his guilt by collecting evidence, then they let him see the evidence to give him a chance to disprove it. It's less "prove your innocence" and more "we think we have evidence you're guilty, change our minds".
There are some improvements that should be made (there were some signs they missed that would've prevented this false ban), but allowing players to appeal potential false bans isn't an issue imo.

@@ketchup901 yeah, that's how appeals work? They collected evidence that they thought proved his guilt, that's not an assumption under any definition of the word.
@@mightyhead4962 They banned him for cheating before giving him a chance to refute the evidence. The evidence was not enough to conclusively prove that he was cheating. In other words, they assumed based on the evidence they had that he was cheating.

Honestly making an entirely untracable third party tool bannable is scummy as hell 😐, there is LITERALLY no way for them to determine if you are using a multi loop macro or not, and even if they can tell you are using a macro there is no way to verify if its single cast or multi cast
They made a sever that requires basically nonstop clicking and then made suspiciously perfect inputs a bannable offense 😐 do we all see the issue here?

The problem with the ban appeal you're suggesting is you can check the bans and reasons why someone was banned by just using their name. If you had to have a forum account linked and use that for the appeal it would be easier and less messy to implement the reason + time of ban

I got this rule added lol. A few years back, i created an ignis waterfall party labled "afk ignis heal party", a mod warned me for breaking the rules, i asked which rule was broken, and they fucking added a clarification that "afk ignis guardian isnt allowed" keep in mind at this point people were afk grinding frozen fort.

I dont think a prompt where you admit to being guilty or not would help much, just seems like itd waste a bunch of time with a ton of guilty people arguing that theyre innocent. With the current system its clearer that getting unbanned even if youre guilty is possible which I believe would increase the amount of people being truthful. Maybe if there was an unreasonable amount of people getting false banned itd be nice to have but I doubt thats the case.
Well at least the admin team were willing to discuss the ban with you on Hypixel 99%+ of all ban appeals get auto rejected unless you are quite famous in the community or have overwhelming proof of your innocenc.

First time offences are often not permanent, and just require a sincere apology and an understanding of why what you did was wrong
Hey, game dev enthusiast here (yea, im not actually a game dev)
the reason why the ban appeal process is awful (similar to hypixel even) is kinda annoying for the player, but it makes more sense when you consider the server's side of things...
First, most servers / games (not sure about wynncraft) ban in waves instead of instantly or whatever so that the "cheater" doesn't know what triggered the ban making fixing the issue in the cheat or figuring out which cheat triggered the ban harder if not impossible. Second, if they provided evidence same thing would apply, the cheaters would be able to figure out what exactly was triggering the cheat and how to fix it immedietely. Finally, the presumption that you are guilty may seem daunting, but in reality it is just a way of trying to disuade responses like "My little brother was on my account!11!!!!"
I think on Wynncraft you got a much more favorable outcome than what will happen on Hypixel.
Hypixel doesn't actually care about ban appeals at all as I have interacted with other people in the Hskyblock community who haven't been unbanned from similar things to others and the only difference being connections to the staff team. (yea its corrupt) After watching your video I really want to rejoin wynncraft (after like 8 years) because you made it seem fun :)
