Great video , thanks for sharing. Had a chance to buy a Farmal Demonstrator 25 years ago , was a model C , if I recall correctly. Was not until the farmer sold it to another guy , that it came to light it was a demonstator , when he began sanding it diwn to orep it for a fresh oaint job , that guy noticed the white oaint underneath ! At least it never went to scrap.
Own a few old inter’s, to start, crank the throttle lever fully open then just as it fires back the lever off quick smart to idle, makes so much of an easier start and a lot easier on the starter motor.. great vid, cheers from West Aus..
Neat to watch this old iron work today. I sure don’t see how those transport wheels are convenient considering I guy needs help stowing them for field use.
looks dry there to? here in wisconsin we baled corn stalks thru low ground that usually i cant get on till late may if we dont have lots of rain. my mom is 89 she has been on her farm since she was 19 there is a water way slew hole behind her one barn and she never remembers that being dry in february.
Susan 55 to 60 yrs ago a peg tooth harrow was best to smooth a hay field. I don't think they make them any more. That packer reminds me of the one dad had. He got it from his dad.
@@tmonteIHwt farm girl is Susan. I watched her video before yours. I'm 70 yrs old. I don't have high speed thumbs like the children do. The video ended. Your video started. I finished my comment , pushed the send arrow. You got her comment.
They just had to be primed. Shaking around on the trailer coming home and warmer temps brought the brakes and steering back to life. Had to repair some wiring under the dash and replace the starter button to get it so I was jumping the solenoid to start.
Nice to see the equipment working. I'm an IH man and I still use it on my farm. Nice running 1456.
Thanks 👍
Really enjoyed watching the video. New to me seeing that style of planter !
Pretty common in the high plains still. You can grow some good crops.
Nice seeing the IH combo getting it done 😁 . Great video. It’s nice to see you running older equipment, reminds me of growing up .👍
I love running the older stuff.
Video should be viral...period
There will be more.

That’s cool! Kind of always wanted a demonstrator C.

Thanks for the info
Love the Poor Man's GPS System. Works great at the fraction of the cost of a new one.😂
Never fails. Unless i hit a tree or fence post.
@@tmonteIH lol🤣
Looks like a cool tractor and looks like it is working well🤠🤠🤠
It’s a great tractor. Thanks for watching.

Better than a having your drive chain spinning at 20 mph going down the road. Think if I oiled it up it would lift easier.
Like your row marker I had a set up for no till much like that 😊
it's pretty foolproof unless you hit a tree or fencepost

Nothing unusual here about a dry spring. Only get 20” of rain here.
1456 sounds good
Thanks. It’s healthy.

Who is Susan?

Gotcha
Sunflower transport is what I need
They sure are handy. I’ve started buying drills just for the transports.
What did you do to get your brakes and steering to operate? You were concerned about something under the dash related to the electrical?

bigtractorpower will be out at your place in no time. Great video as always.
I know him pretty well actually. Think my Massey 860 and IH 4166 are in a couple of his videos.
Looks to me that you need a bigger tractor, 1456 is not quite big enough is it?
Been trying to find a nice pair of these drills that are 14x10 or 12x10. Haven’t succeeded yet.
Good video! How deep are you planting the oats?
Around 1.5”. They were drilled into moisture and just received a good rain.
That is an old school GPS 😂
Only lose signal if you hit a tree or fence post.
How deep are you seeding?? Looks kinda deep
3ish inches. Have to remember the shanks move dirt to the side so it’s only packing 1-2” back on top.
Farming is a nice hobby but what do you live on?
Farming and buying and selling machinery
You would be better off with a Hydrologic cylinder raising/lowering the transport wheels in the back
Lot of tractors back then didn’t have remotes to spare to run extra hydraulics.
Could you try to find me a gold demo that doesn't cost vary much and does not run in the ohio area.
Doubtful
You need a better microphone if you continue to record while operating a tractor. Your audio in this video has much to be desired.
It’s all part of the aesthetic. Period correct hearing damage from the 54 year old cab.
What a joke tractor won't start plus it isn't a gold demonstrater no gold to be seen
Guess you don’t know much about IH gold demo tractors. I think 54 year old tractors are allowed to start a little hard when it’s cold.
How about that black dash!
