LONG LASTING NAIL POLISH BRANDS!

- Do you struggle with getting your nail polish to last more than a couple days? You are not alone, I myself have this problem too! I have learned through trial and error which nail polishes which work best for my daily activities! I do a lot with my hands on a daily basis, I work in healthcare so I am constantly washing my hands, I type often at a computer, and I do a lot of yard work. I need nail polish that is going to last more than a few days! If you are like me and struggle with these issues this video is for you! In this video I discuss a couple long lasting nail polish brands with you that I have found to work well! In this video I will be talking about the brands OPI and Essie. One thing I forgot to mention in the video was that these nail polish brands OPI and Essie last approximately two weeks before the polish starts to chip, by then your nails grow out and you will need to change the color anyways. When choosing a nail polish I am happy if it can last more than a week!

Great review. I've been painting my nails every two weeks for about 20 years (LOL). I used to exclusively use OPI until they changed their formula. Now I use Essie for the most part but if I use other brands, I always use the Essie topcoat.

I have found using a gel base and top coat works best. The out the door top coat works great and keeps my polish on 4-5 days with minimal tip wear.
That is awesome! I recently started using a base coat as well and feel like it does help the longevity!
What brand do you use for your gel base?
You’re so sweet to reply. I’m currently using Sally Hansen triple strong strengthener. It’s in a green bottle but it’s gel. I had loved one from Revlon that I used for years and it was gel but unfortunately, it was discontinued. With the out the door top coat, it likes cures the polish to the base coat and nail and I’m also in healthcare, constantly washing hands, etc.

I find indie brands last longer than mainstream. Bees knees, polished for days, kbshimmer, nailed it!, quixotic, ILNP, Emily De Molly, Different Dimensions, just to name a few. Essie wears like crap on me and chips on the same day. I might get 5 days out of an OPI.
I guess it can wear differently for everyone! I am glad you have found some nail polish that really works for you! 💕

You just intrigued me Arianna!! I have not yet tried the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel but now I am curious. I am going to purchase some with the top coat use it and then do an OPI VS Sally Hansen. Since I need to purchase and wear before a review video this will probably not come out roughly for another 3-4 weeks ish. 💕

How long do you wait for the polish to dry between the coats?
That’s a great question Barbara! Honestly I don’t have specific time I just wait till it it’s dry and not tacky to apply the second coat. It usually doesn’t take too long. I would roughly say about 5 minutes five or take a few. Make sure the first coat isn’t too thick otherwise it does take longer to dry. When applying the second coat it will give you more color pigmentation so the first coat does not need to be too thick! I hope this helps!
Do you use a base coat with OPI?
I have the infinite shine prostay primer from OPI, but I don’t feel like it’s absolutely necessary.
