I don't understand how a show can be this close to perfection, they say that perfection can never be reached, but I can't really see how this show is not perfect. I mean the music, the characters, the story, the artwork, the animation, the humor, the relationships, the villains, the bending, the journey, Toph, the everything! It's all in the top class.
It's a shame how Zhao is kinda the forgotten villain of the Avatar universe. I guess that's what happens when you're only in the pilot season and unfortunately overshadowed by villains which the show put much more time into building up and exploring in the following seasons. Still nice of them to throw in that little cameo in Korra, though. The Moonslayer came before Azula and needed some love, too.
Nikita Komatsu I agree, having him for more than one season is too much, but Zhao killed the fucking Moon god damn it, that ain't a joke. How dare you disrespect the conqueror, the moonslayer, the invincible.
Yes he did destroy the moon but he sucks he's so into himself and every time you say commander Zhao it's admiral now or captain Zhao it's commander now he's just wack in that cockiness sense thinking oh I'm an admiral I'm better than everyone he was just a block like if he was in season 2 team avatar has no time for him he'll be so easy to beat by then that's why I'm glad they killed him off he would be weak comparing to the dai lee combustion man azula etc. he was a good villan for season 1 but after he'll be a joke lol
This theme is brilliant: the aggressive feeling mixed the building melody just screams "Fire." You can practically feel the heat in the air just by listening to this piece
They packed every single worshiped traits under the freaking sun into this series. No stupid or unnecessary characters, no repeated animations *cough* sailor moon *cough*, THE BEST DANG CHICKEN TEND- I mean SOUNDTRACKS (props for anyone who gets that reference right there), the plot is flawless royalty, the voice actors get way into character and fit perfectly, the designs aren't too over the top but in no way are they lazy, the backgrounds don't hog the spotlight but they still rock, there's NO rushed exposition *cough* Shyamalan *cough*, the facial expressions always match the mood and convey just as much, if not more, emotion than The Lion freaking King. THERE IS BUT ONE PROBLEMO. They made a sequel. Don't get me wrong, I like Legend of Korra, but it will just never be as incredible and perfect as The Last Airbender.
***** I kinda want to keep watching LoK, but I sadly got kinda bored. You remember when Bolin saw Korra and the brother guy kiss? And Bolin's facial expression? They could have made it a sad part, but they gave him a stupid comedy sniffly sobby face. It's really dissapointing
***** Everything goes wrong when it's directed to kiddies. Just look at what happened to pokemon, and most of the actual nostalgic fans are teens or adults
+Silverfire1040 Tons of people say this but I didn't like TLOK because it seemed too "modern" for me. Avatar always had this mystical, grand adventure and older feeling to it. I dropped Korra after a couple episodes. I can imagine it gets better and why people like it. But it just isn't for me.
+Silverfire1040 they improve upon when and where Bolin act as comic relief later in the show but there were definitely hiccups with his moments early on. He does still have some awkward moments in book 2, but that's for the most part Nick's fault for huge budget cuts, time expectations, and changing the korean animation studio they go through for the animations for the middle of it.
Something that a lot of people didn't know about avatar was that it was not only an amazing series but it was revolutionary in the cartoon world. The story of a kid, the last of his race to have to fight the most powerful nation on the planet and win. It's something never thought of before. Mostly before avatar there weren't many "action" cartoons. There were superheroes and a few others but nothing at all like this. Just epic
monjuele Although Avatar does give off the feeling that it is in the "style" of anime, unfortunately its not. Anime is a Japanese cartoon (Be careful using cartoon when relating to anime as people can easily become offended) and that Avatar wasn't made in Japan.
so the story of one person, the last of his race standing up to the force that is responsible for wiping it out is Original? in execution, definitely but not in story essence
It is a kid’s show. People need to realize that just because a show is made for kids it doesn’t meen it can’t also be well written, have more serious themes and also be enjoyable for adults
@@gustavosilveira691 I don’t think it is only for kids. There are more very serious moments and philosophical words. Kids show very simple, they are have characters that are like flat with no motives no life philosophy they’re just like a simple rock, you think they are not have personality. But when you see series like “Avatar: The last airbender” and met characters like Zuko, Sokka, Aang and others. You feel like they’re real people with personality, life philosophy and motives and goals. With very cool story, music, fights and adventures make you feel this is the masterpiece. Raiigen He almost kicked my ass in truth! My character is a female Dunmer and I had to go all out Azula on his ass and pull out the lightning magic. The final slow-mo dual-handed Chain Lightning right to his chest was pretty epic though. Sent him flying into a river.
I also played an extended version of The Last Agni Kai while i was facing Miraak. That was awesome!
MickMaan Sweet~! Would have loved to see and hear that battle going down! Hehe female Dunmer using Lighting magic, I don't think you can get any closer to a TES Azula :D
Raiigen I've literally made an Azula character now lol. Female Breton wearing red vampire armor. She looks awesome.
MickMaan BHJahahahaha! That's awesome!
The part where they did "Cha Cha Cha Cha Cha", I felt that.

The Moonslayer came before Azula and needed some love, too.
that is very true. but he's in the second season of korra which made me happy that they didn't completely forget about him
***** THE MOONSLAYER! I WILL CAPTURE THE AVATAR!
Good he would've been annoying in season 2 especially when azula was the main villan Zhao is a joke
JN S Yeah, they should have made that scene where Bolin saw Korra kiss his brother more emotional. It's no Last Airbender
+Silverfire1040
they improve upon when and where Bolin act as comic relief later in the show but there were definitely hiccups with his moments early on.

Just epic
It's anime. A cartoon is characters moving in front of a background, anime is not just a background. It is amazing though.
monjuele
Although Avatar does give off the feeling that it is in the "style" of anime, unfortunately its not. Anime is a Japanese cartoon (Be careful using cartoon when relating to anime as people can easily become offended) and that Avatar wasn't made in Japan.
monjuele Anime is by definition a cartoon.
so the story of one person, the last of his race standing up to the force that is responsible for wiping it out is Original?
in execution, definitely but not in story essence
