Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 0:00 Introduction 1. 0:17 Do we go directly to be with God when we die? Is it ok to make jokes about Bible stories or situations? 3. 11:29 Premil, Amil, or Postmil - which view is the most correct? 4. 13:37 Recently, many people have been uploading videos of their "prophetic dreams," with many implying that the rapture will be within the next couple of months...What do you make of these dreams? 5. 17:52 How do you answer a friend that says that "spiritualism" (all new age stuff, tarot, yoga, manifesting) needs to be rescued from the New Age & that spiritualism is pure and is what Jesus practiced? 6. 23:08 We are proud that the NT is based on eyewitness accounts, but how could the Gospel writers have known what Jesus said and did while He was alone, like in the desert or the garden of Gethsemane? 7. 26:20 Does the Bible support celebrating birthdays and Christmas? Recovering JW here. 8. 30:36 If I get raptured before the Tribulation, will I, from my new place of residence, be able to do something good for my loved ones who were left behind on Earth? 9. 32:34 Speaking of whether or not we go directly to Heaven or Hell when we die, what are your thoughts on the comma in Luke 23: 43? A lot of mortalists say it belongs after the word "today" instead of before. 10. 36:38 My entire family is Pentecostal. They say I'm demon possessed and a male chauvinist because I believe Paul's teachings on women. Am I wrong to think that those family members may not be saved? 11. 40:31 Have you seen "The Chosen" series? If so, what do you think of it? 12. 43:45 I was reading Galatians, and got confused by Galatians 3: 23. How long is it appropriate to keep praying for something? 19. 56:45 I am an aspiring pastor, and I hope to be the shepherd of a church one day. Until then, what are some good things for me to be doing? How can I prepare myself better for pastorship? 20. 59:14 How do I speak to a pastor who tends to use feel good phrases like "you are enough" and "Jesus came to bring a piece of Heaven to Earth"? I find these phrases unbiblical.
18) Praying in vain reputation is to be heard by men, long public formal prayers with someone or group. Giving God thanks is a prayer that can be exercised for something you want. Either God will answer or not by possibly taking that desire away. Again the vain reputation scripture is misinterpreted from wholehearted prayers to unbelief or empty public chatter prayers to be heard or impress people with their holiness. Matthew 7:7
Q: In the "Lord's prayer", the statement "Lead me not into temptation but deliver us..." How can you explain God the Creator leading anyone into temptation? Doesn't he deliver us? Was this a mistranslation?
I lost my 22yr old daughter. She was in Christ and I just can't imagine seeing her again although I truly believe I will. It's so hard to grasp heaven. Thanks for this topic. I really needed it.
I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s a grief I can’t imagine and hope to never experience. Knowing she was saved should be a great comfort to you, though I can imagine your difficulty when trying to conceive what heaven will be like, how it works etc. I struggle with it myself. I guess much of it it will remain a mystery, for now.
Lon Spector True as what you said may be, do you have any biblical support or evidence for this? The reason I ask is because it seems to me that the things you are referring to are incidental, not necessarily based on stated fact in scripture. Just because there wasn’t a perfect human before Jesus, that doesn’t mean that there wouldn’t ever be, hence the existence of Jesus.
Lon Spector Again, as true as some of this response may be to Grace Asher, is this supported by scripture? I just want to make sure people stumbling on these videos and subsequently reading comments are not mislead that everyone will appear to be 30 years of age after being reanimated, if that is not the case. If it is, I would love to learn how and why 30 years old is the age, based on scripture.
I need friends who love sound doctrine! These questions are awesome! I have literally no one in my real life or on my FB who appricates this!!!! I'm on fire over here like when I was first saved! Hearing the amazing and real truth for the first time in 9 years and I'm completely alone aside from ACTUALLY READING THE BIBLE like I should have been 💡 and sound teachers on youtube 😬😅💯!
I have the same problem. I did find a couple people at church who are bible nerds way more than me and I love it. Go to a bible study and you may find one or two, ask your pastor or priest if they know of someone who you can partner with. I still would love to have someone daily like you. I hope you find people of like mind. I found a group on FB thats great but really I want to meet with actual people to open the Bible with and chat for hours.
As you grow God will find those who will edify, or build you up. God makes peoples paths to cross, I have found to be true. Just ask Him and wait, you won't be disappointed!
My pastor (Calvary Chapel) frequently says “ when we take our last breath here on Earth, we will take our first breath in the presence of Jesus”. It is the most comforting thought. Especially since I lost my mother about a year ago. I am so happy she is with the Lord now. Thank you Pastor Mike!
I listened to this with my 14 year old daughter. Because I see that a lot of these questions are incredibly common. And even though she has not come to me with them, they may have still been on her mind. I thought it would be a great learning opportunity for both of us. And to open the door for her to know it's ok to have questions. And that she can verbalize them when they arise. She seemed to enjoy the teaching. And we stopped a lot to talk about the answers given. Thank you for putting forth so much of your lifes time in order to provide us with such solid teaching. In a world that is so loud, and filled with confusion, especially in regards to the bible, it's a relief to know their are still voices we can trust.
Hey Brianne, you might also want to check out skeptics night Q & A with RZIM, Ravi Zacharias. I love to listen to all of their speakers. Just to hear MANY real questions answered has been beneficial for my whole family. I would recommend Abdu Murray/Vince Vitale skeptics night on TH-cam for a start. Give it a listen to. May Yehovah bless your daughter's hearing.
One last thing. They are designed for skeptics, atheists and those with different religious beliefs. However I have found in listening to them that I can answer many different people now based on their Foundation of what they bring to the table so to speak. Abdomarie was a Muslim and took nine years to come to Yeshua. Vince Vitale was a skeptic. Abdu graduated law from the University of Michigan and Vince graduated from Princeton. They have many, many other speakers and I have found all to be not only beneficial but enjoyable to listen to. They all start with a small 15 minute talk on why and where they come from and then they open up the floor to anyone that has any questions. I've probably listened to at least 40 maybe 50 of these. It not only strengthened my faith but like I said before, it has helped me to answer different views out there with knowledge and love.
@@briannehill7583 your daughter might like Adventures in Odyssey, but she might be getting too old for it. If you have any younger kids I’d definitely show them the series. I’m 22 and I still enjoy listening to adventures in odyssey sometimes. Might be different for me since I’ve been listening to them since I was 6 or 7. Worth a shot. They’re audio stories with really interesting lessons. Some audiobooks are an acting out of biblical stories and they do a fantastic job of that. Others are more sci-fi or crime mystery stories. I find they’re great for the imagination while I’m driving or working. As I’ve gotten older I’ve transitioned to more mature things like what Mike Winger puts out but lighter lessons are nice too sometimes :)
This video is 3 years old, but new to me. Thank you so much for your ministry and for answering all these questions for us. I have been a Christian for 2 years and am very much into apologetics. That's how God got me. I am vision impaled and rely a lot on videos and podcasts (reading for long is uncomfortable). All this to say, you and your ministry are a big part of my life, and how I learn about God, the Bible, and Christian culture. may God bless you, your family, your church, and your ministry.
"To live is Christ, to die is gain," has been the most empacting Scripture once I understood it on its own. It's warmed my heart; prescribed my walk; entered my poetry. All glory be to God!!! 🙌 ✝️ ❤ ✝️ 🙌
This is pretty much what ive always said. Whether it is actually instantaneous or not, i think it will seem that way to us. So Jesus would know that. Im not sure we can really know for absolute certain how that will be.
I frequently equate it to falling asleep, sometimes you fall asleep and a few seconds go by, sometimes you fall asleep and a few hours go by, but you always wake up and it feels like your head just hit the pillow. So I think time passes and the asleep in Christ will just feel like they took a nap
That guy that asked how to renew your love of Christ when it has become common place.... that question broke my heart for him. I hope God touches your heart so you can remember the feeling how good it is....
@Lon Spector You think what you say is encouraging, no doubt, but I would find it more so if it were not just so many assertions without any Scriptural back-up. What is your qualification to assert things like this?
I haven't had that problem. I'm in awe of Christ each and every day. It truly is heartbreaking, to hear when people say that. What helps me stay on fire for Him; is knowing and reminding myself, what He did on the Cross for us. His selfless love for us ♥♥♥!
Maybe he was thinking since Jesus Christ rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven when He was about 33 years old, we will all be close to that age when we get there.....
I agree. Mocking Christ is wrong. The positive side of Memeing is keeping Christ in the conversation. This is an opportunity for us to take and talk of Christ in the proper light and spread the Good Word. God bless and may we do his work on earth.
Mike I just want to say that I love you bro. Your stuff has truly effected my life as a Christian and as a future theologian. I just wanted you to know that. I had visions from God but whatever happens I know it was ment to wake me up and turn to Christ, and help others do the same. Love you once again. May Jesus bless and keep you and your family.
I was almost in a car accident about a year ago on a mountain side. I pulled a way from the accident by a white light. I knew the light was the light of God. I was only receiving a glimpse of God's glory. There was no words to describe the light or the feelings that the light awakens.
I was strangled and died and it was purple then black and I was floating in blackness but peaceful,NOT frightening then I was flown back into my body,Jesus helped me and it was dangerous but afterwards I never feared death,so if we are soul sleep didn't feel like that I was alive more than ever,Jesus Christ is King 👑🙏🇬🇧💗
My understanding of time helps me with the 1st question. God created time for us. But He is not on the "Time line." He is not affected by time, and we won't be once we die. So it will be instantaneous for us, even though the people still on earth will not view it that way.
Bless you and your ministry! I listen to you frequently and am comforted by you teachings. I sometimes feel distant from the Lord you help me draw closer to our Father.
Mike, I'm loving your ministry, keep it up! I personally lean more toward the idea of "soul sleep" as this is how Jesus and Paul (and really the whole of scripture) speak about death, that it is a sleep and Jesus will return and resurrect us. You quoted the only two verses I know of (seeing the Rich Man and Lazarus as a parable) that seems to indicate anything different but even if death is unconscious until the resurrection then what Paul said there is true, for when we die our next conscious moment is hearing the shout of Jesus and immediately being caught up to meet Him in the air along with all the other saints just as Paul (the same Paul who spoke of dying and being present with the Lord) described it in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. So just wondering what you make of that, as well as what Paul said about David having not yet ascended to heaven (Acts 2:29-36). I certainly could be wrong but it seems to human beings only experience consciousness through a brain and body (Ecclesiastes 9:5, Job 14:21, at the very least rule out the dead knowing anything happening on earth and that ghosts couldn't be deceased people), so even if God in some way keeps our being ("soul"), it wouldn't be until we're resurrected that we would be conscious again.
Thank you. Wondering the same thing. The scripture is perfect and infallible, I find it hard to say something is true based on a couple verses when there are other verses that support this possible truth. As a believer I don’t really know that it matters to me if it is truly instant or there is technically a delay in time as it relates to our current reality, it really makes no difference to me. But it does matter in that we don’t want to lead non believers astray in false theology about what happens after we die
That point about “yo-yo Moses” really blessed me! My cup overflowed to think that God had such a glorious massive plan beyond what seemed mundane and repetitive. Glory to God!
Something to think of, do the dead know the time or have a time, I don't think so. The years that will pass on them, hundreds or thousands by our time, will be like an instant moment for the dead, so the moment we close our eyes will find ourselves with God. For us, they are asleep until the end time, they know and feel nothing.
I've come to the same conclusion based on just reading scripture. Im open to the idea that I could be wrong... But as of now I think this is the only view that accounts for ALL of scripture. All of these other views that I see talked about seem to ignore some scripture in favor of other scripture. I tend not to argue over these things because i think it's unfruitful and not a salvational issue. But it is discouraging to see so much ignored in favor of one worldview.
@@dakotadaily7404 The issue stems from a misunderstanding of the soul, spirit, and body. The main point to keep in mind is that its only the body that goes back into the dust of the earth, not the soul and spirit. Jesus himself said man is only capable of killing the body and not the soul, so we see they can't be the the same. Even in Revelation 9:6-9 the souls of slain martyrs are conversing with the Lord on the timeframe for their vengeance. Hope this help to shine light
Regarding Jesus in the garden… Judas would not have been among those who accompanied him, as he had exited the last supper when Jesus said to him, ‘What you are going to do, do quickly.’ So, while Peter, James and John went with Jesus into the garden, 8 of the disciples were left outside, while Judas was making his deal with the Jewish rulers, and about to lead them to where Jesus was.
So many Bible verse saying the dead lie in rest, the dead know nothing! We lie in rest until the second coming of Christ. The Bible says when Christ comes the dead that are in Christ rise first to meet him in the sky. If you are in Heaven, you wouldn’t be put back in the grave only to be resurrected at Christ’s second coming! It’s ridiculous.
Actually no, if you are unconscious until the resurrection, you also would experience instant ressurection with everyone else. Not only would you be with the Lord instantly from your perspective, but you would have your new body.
@@LivingWateraide I don't believe in soul sleep. But if I did, I could easily say that If you don't believe in soul sleep, you are forced to Pastor Mikes conclusions. You could just be charitable and see that the verses can harmonize with both sides, and stop saying that people are forced into anything.
@Lon Spector I agree, in the sense that you need a body to be fully alive. A disembodied soul probably doesn't experience time, or at least not in the same way, and therefore it would be difficult to say that its fully alive. God can make you dead completely, eternally dead by destroying both body and soul. "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell." Mathew 10:28
Maybe I'll find something but You are literally the only Christian who on youtube has word for word heart for heart theology for theology, that matches my understanding COMPLETLY. I honestly in my spirit fully am convinced that there is a coming together of the church coming that a group of people around the world in the lord will be raised up for specific reasons and specific mending of the church from all this division, I've noticed God raising the young ones up in this, and all ages of diverse people. It's hard to explain, I could be totally off base, But it's just something that feels like a word from him, Like a little whisper, It's very hard to explain what I mean, But the brokeness of Gods people is not being ignored by God, And it doesn't mean we are these awesome correct in theology people, Who knows all but God? But there is a game plan so to speak. Sorry for the rant, Sorry if I explained this wrong, It's not meant as an arrogant statement for a "special group" There is a lot of nuance here, and it's hard to pinpoint exactly what I believe God means by this IF he is actually giving me a hint. All I can say for sure is man... I LOVE YOU!
I know what you mean. It seems as if there is a certain awareness that wasnt present in people before and people are beginning to seek the truth more. Thats a great thing if its so!
20:00 Amen!! Thank you Pastor Mike for crealy spelling out that we should not be using any of these new age spiritualism stuff in our worship of the true Lord Almighty. Anyone who reads the OT should understand that God does not approve man made practices.
The masses have never thirsted after truth, whoever can supply them with illusions, is easily their master, whoever attempts to destroy their illusions is always their victims. When facts, absolute truths are spoken, and the receiving person cannot hear( the truth );they cannot hear his voice. His voice, is the voice of Truth. What a person believes has nothing to do with what is fact. Facts are absolute, anything else is false, and from the enemy, and a lie. Fact: He was born A Hebrew Baby named Yahusha Bar Yoseph. Yahuah the Creator manifest Flesh. Scriptures clearly state, there is one name that you can be saved bye. That name is not Jesus. To deny Yahusha, and call him by a defiled name, when they know his correct name, is Rebellion. 1st Samuel 15:23 for Rebellion is as the sin of Witchcraft and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry, because thou Hast rejected the word of Yahuah, why he has also rejected the. What is God's real name? If we do some research, and pray, then we should become very clear That there's only one name for our heavenly father and that is Yahuah. Yahusha is his physical body or the son if you will, (Ached) in Hebrew, meaning (Soul Spirit ). There is no salvation in the name of Jesus Christ or any other name according to acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Most people would not call themselves by someone else is name, nor would Yahuah/Yahusha! Yod Hey Uah Hey =Yahuah = Yod Hey Uah Shin Ayin = Yahusha Directly from Paleo Hebrew no mistake. Absolute Fact a four-letter tetragrammaton, look it up. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of Yahuah (God) is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom, and instruction. This is a major problem because nobody fears Yahuah (God) anymore, they can do whatever they want, to anyone, act any way they want, and live according to their own devices. Next there are so many scriptures that tell you to obey the Commandments, I cannot begin to include them in a letter. 1st John 3:4 clearly states that the definition of (sin is to violate the Law (10 Commandments). And it clearly States that if you even desire to break the Commandments (hold inequity in your heart Psalms 66:18 if I regard iniquity in my heart, Yahuah will not hear me) he doesn't hear your prayers. Fact: the only prayers he hears from the disobedient is REPENTANCE. You repent, then you Obey, then you get to pray. I mean can a disobedient child get rewarded for disobedience? I mean come on Matthew 13:13 Matthew 13:14 Matthew 13:15 Mark 4:12 Mark 6:2 Luke 2:46 Luke 8:10 Luke 18:36 I can go on, and on, and on, on how people will hear, but perceive not, and to see, but perceive not. Truly, deaf, dumb, and blind. But then you have the ones that can hear, and perceive, but do nothing about it. Just keep on living the same old life they have always lived. Romans 2:13 for not the hearers of the Torah are Justified before Elohim, but doers of the Torah shall be Justified. So James 1:22 but be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Would you rather die than disobey Yahuah? Not many would, they continue to break those 10 Commandments continuously, without thought, without reason, they don't care. their not his sheep, they don't hear his voice. There's nothing you can do to give them HEARING or SIGHT, that comes from the father. There's nothing you can do to make somebody understand, no matter how much you love them. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter, fear YAH and keep his Commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13. That's It, we are just witnesses to the truth, and if he has manifested himself in your life, You can hear the truth because it is already there, when you hear it, it rings true in your heart because it was written there in the beginning. Everything you were ever taught in this realm is a lie. Everybody in the world grows up under government, govern= rule, ment= mind. You have been programmed, The only thing that you ever knew is what your parents who were raised by government told you, the school you attended, which is the government, and the churches are all controlled 501 c 3 divisions of the government, they teach you to believe that you evolved from a monkey first thing ( there's no God) And even before that Public television and your parents taught you we live on a round ball, flying through space at 666 million miles an hour, while you're flying around the sun at 550,000 miles per hour, while your spinning at 1069 miles per hour, that's a lot of movements for you to not feel one thing. Their are 400 places in the King James 66 book cannon bible, that states somehow that the Earth is stationary, and does not move. The Sun and moon were made on the fourth day, what did earth revolve around until then!! Come on You don't believe Genesis!!! We do not believe our own eyes, and our own senses, we believe what somebody tells us. Nobody can prove curvature, because there isn't any!! A simple Lighthouse proves there is no curvature, NASA says 66 feet of curvature at 10 miles, 6666 feet of curvature at a hundred miles, how can a 70 foot Lighthouse be seen for 30 or 40 miles, Google it. The stature Liberty is 300 ft tall and it can be seen for 60 to 70 miles at 60 miles it would be under over 2,000 feet of curvature. Water is always level it doesn't bend. It can't be round guys, no matter how much you want it to be, because you've been taught that. It's a LIE, and if they can make you believe a lie that big, what else do you believe, either can see it or you can't, you have eyes to see and ears to hear, or you're deaf, dumb, and blind. Choose the Creator not Religion. WAKE UP we have been asleep for two thousand years. When a well packaged Web of lies has been so gradually poured to the masses over generations the truth will seem utterly pre postrace and its speaker a raving lunatic. Father paid for everything so none would have to suffer if, they only truly believed his word of Truth. But just as we have witnessed ourselves it was suffering that open our eyes, we all have our Breaking Point and will eventually see the truth, the longer they deny the truth only exposes them to discomforts, they hold by stepping on others toes. If a man has nothing to die for, then what does he love, a man is his word, and we either represent his image by walking what we talk, and being true and just, that he controls everything around you, He only needs witnesses to his word of Truth. Everything has already been said none of us can do any better than HE did. I know some things are hard to accept, because we want everyone to feel that love, but when it comes time to walking through the gate, and putting yourself upon that cross of death, they all fall back to sleep. So many claim to be open-minded, yet they do not see that they are like-minded; they follow what they like. Because they do not know love, the only one who deserves that love is the father, and he cleanses everything you love, if they love you, no matter how many times anyone misrepresents, if the father did not call them by name, they are not one of his. There are so many demons hiding behind the Flesh and calling themselves Godly. Sometimes I think I'm the only one dropping seeds, I only Say what I know to be the Truth. By witnessing to it myself. What I've seen and Experienced. The truth, came into this world. Now hate needs to see the truth for a short time, so they will be welcome to the truth. Mankind has been seeking shortcuts since the beginning , but only by death to self, can anyone come to the truth. As Above, So Below, the mind in the heart must become one with the truth, and only fire that can refine. This is why only those who love the truth more than anything, can stand in this fire. No matter how hot it gets, this is exactly how we show his love by sharing knowledge we have witnessed. Not the teachings of men. The Earth is not for the pleasure of men but it is a place of instruction for his soul, a man more readily feels the strings of his spirit in the face of disaster, then in the lap of luxury. The tuition of the soul is long, and arduous course of instruction, and in training. Humility is the key to unlocking the Door to the Kingdom. Obedience unto Death allows you to enter. I'll end this with a Prayer of Humility this should bring tears to your eyes if not, get your heart Right!!!! I Wish I knew what I know now: Wisdom is the principal thing All this time just wasted, thinking I own anything Humility clothes me From the top of my head, to the soles of my feet YAH Teach me Show me the way Hide my face from the wickedness of this world, I pray you Take my hand Protect my heart Hide me in the shadow of your wing Like a child see Purity in my eyes Allow me to sit at your feet Hear me YAH Show me your ways teach me your paths I'm yielding to your will Your loving commitment will endow me and Surround me in my coming and my going Cleanse me ABBA Purge me ABBA I want to be white as snow So I may testify of your love to those in search of you Show me the way You desire truth in The inward Parts, to allow me know you Take my hand Casting all my cares upon you Refresh me with the Waters of life Like a child crying Softly, forgive me Allow me to approach your throne ABBA KNOW ME PLEASE ABBA YAHUAH KNOW ME
You counted “The spiritual side of yoga stuff, not stretching” (around the 20:20 mark) as one of the forgeries we shouldn’t take up. Yes, but that implies that yoga stretching is ok? I was under the impression that yoga stretches are poses that are used in Hinduism to summon their deities. We call them demons. I’m nervous about adopting a pose that might get their attention!!
In referencing the coma in "Today". If Jesus was saying...this very day you will be with me in paradise, how could he say to Mary, 3 days later at the tomb that he hadn't yet ascended to the the Father?
I love listening to your commentary!! I love that if I have a question about something, I can usually find an answer within a video of yours. Thank you for studying and sharing your wisdom. I did want to mention that in 2 Corinthians 5:8 kHz it actually says “to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” So you didn’t really paraphrase 😊 I just thought I’d share that. Thanks again for all your amazing insights
Pastor Mike, adoption of New Age by Christians vs typical action of the Holy Spirit answer was very helpful. Steve Bancarz has a helpful ministry in this area.
I go to prepare a place for you and I will come back to receive you. At the time that he made this promise, the place was not yet prepared. He was speaking to persons, not bodies. The dead are in their grave, awaiting the coming of Jesus.
I'm with you about taking the end times with a grain of salt. It's to be ready at any given time. Spoil the people and folks might not take things seriously till things happen, and was it really in your heart to be a better individual?
Like Jesus fulfilled the passover, we know it will be some year during fall festivals so we should be sharing the gospel as if Jesus Christ were at the door. We need to be ready and not tell people this is the day or hour. I just share like he is really going to come and we must be about our Fathers business. GOD BLESS
On that one question, when Jesus was alone, how did the writers of the Word know what He prayed? The answer is the Spirit of God spoke as they wrote the Word. The Holy Spirit spoke into every writer that penned the Holy Word of God. That’s the answer.
No one is worthy. The same rule applies. Hear the Gospel, believe the Gospel, confess your sins to God, repent of your sins, and be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. When the Holy Spirit bids you to come to the Lord. Hear Him and be obedient.
What I’m finding, about Christian humor, is that I fall into it the more I watch these vids do deep dives into scripture. It’s so abstract and difficult at times, I get 🤪 ….yes, discretion is important.
I personally think memes are fine as long as it's coupled with deep thinking and isn't necessarily mockery. I think God has a sense of humor and we should too. But of course, if you feel like by joking about the bible you'd be tempted to sin, don't. And be wise.
Jesus' parable of Lazarus and the rich man shows that no contact/help from people in heaven or sheol is possible. That's why "today is the day of salvation" and Luke 16:31 "if they do not respond to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead." Totally agree with Mike that any 'interaction' with heaven should be with God through Jesus - not dead loved ones. Demons lie in wait to trap people and masquerade as angels of light OR dead loved ones.
wow, to hear you say that you hear leaders say "ehhhh im just too lazy to study that much"... I wish i could be full time teacher/preacher and dedicate time to atudy, but the Lord has not opened that door for me to not be working full time. A shame people dont know what they have.
Today, on the cross looking like a condemned man, I can take you to Paradise because I am a king. THE King. Is Paradise where the Father is? Because Christ tells Mary on resurrection morning that He had not yet ascended to His Father. Where did He take the thief?
No, Heaven is NOT Paradise. And Paradise is not where God the Father is. Paradise as explained in the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus is a waiting place for righteous spirits who wait between death and the time of the resurrection while awaiting the Final Judgement. For the Second Coming is only just a partial judgement, but its not the final judgement. The final Judgement is over a thousand years away from now. Jesus did NOT ascend yet up to his Father in Heaven (John 20:17). Where Jesus went after his death during those 3 days is found in 1 Peter 3:18-19. Jesus went into the world of the Spirits of the dead. For the dead must be taught the gospel if they have not heard it in this life.
Question 13 can be answered in part also when you read about the apostle Philip who was instantly transported to another place after he baptised the Ethiopian.
A quick thought experiment : Should we go into a dreamless soulsleep and then wake up at the end of the time, would it not then, from our perspective, be being with the Lord immediately anyway?
Mike, you should read The Day Approaching by Amir Tsarfati of Behold Israel. I think he handles the aspect of end times very well and biblically, and I also love that he brings in a lot of Israeli culture and information that we as Americans aren’t really aware of.
14:02 There was a book published in 1988 titled "88 Reasons the Rapture Will Happen in '88." When the Rapture didn't happen, it was published again the next year as "89 Reasons the Rapture Will Happen in '89."
I remember that. They said something about the Rapture happening at the 40. year mark after Israel became a nation, so that would be 1988. A lot of people believed this. (Not me). They forgot that Jesus Christ basically said not to name dates for the Rapture or His Second Coming.
Q. 1 seems kind of pointless when you consider that God and Heaven are outside of time. If you ponder this in the light of this question, it kind of just blows your mind.
@Beth Lindon I am so sorry for ur loss, my dad just passed un expectantly 3 weeks ago today, worse pain I’ve dealt in my life, we weren’t on the best terms and now that guilt has been overwhelming to deal with, I have been reading scriptures and watching videos looking for the same answer as you, I have been wrestling with it because half the videos I watch say they are asleep until Jesus returns again and then after watching this it has made me more confident that they are in the presence of GOD right now in spirit, and then we will all get our eternal body when Jesus returns. I think either way we can be confident that wherever GOD’s will or plan for them to be is the best and perfect place for them to be, rather we understand or comprehend it or not. My dad was a believer in Jesus but he was addicted to alcohol also, his alcoholism was one of the biggest detriments in his life, he wanted to change but couldn’t, and he hated that he was an alcoholic, I say all that to say that I’m not sure how that works, I know he was a believer in Jesus and was baptized when he was younger, but he just couldn’t overcome his addiction, I wrestle with how to feel about it, but again sorry for loss and I pray GOD comforts you and heals ur heart and binds ur wounds and covers you in his grace and love and mercy
Your father was not a perfect man but his hope was in Christ. His addictions are gone and he is in the presence of the Lord. We should celebrate this (: I pray for your comfort on earth, you’ll see him again. Not a goodbye, just a see you later. Blessings !
@@nickbsick6142 man I appreciate that more than u know, thanks, I haven’t been at ease over it since he passed, that really helped me a lot, thank you and GOD bless!!!
the king james version says "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8. So they are not quoting that wrong, just using a different translation.
I disagree with pre-trib rapture, but it’s far more important to get ready, to dig deep, find our truths in Christ, repent, and don’t be tolerant of the rampant lies going on.
1 Thessalonians 4:13 13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
baptism is just a announcement of giving yourself to Christ. When the bible talks about baptizing and repenting it means baptism of the holy spirit. When you repent the Holy Spirit endwells you and you are baptized in the spirit. Being dunked in water is just symoblic of your faith. Its a celebration for you and your fellow Christians. So rebaptizing isnt a thing.
I know this video is old and my answer might not be answered, but something that brother Mike said got me thinking. He said (or I understood) that we that have come to Christ shouldn’t practice or guide ourselves with the covenants made to the Israelites and I have to ask, what practices shouldn’t we follow. I personally belief that although we are saved by grace we do works to show and increase our faith in our lord Jesus and we should honor the Israelites because they are the chosen people of God and that we are grafted in by grace and as such we should seek to honor the Lord by trying to uphold some of the old practices. Maybe I’m not understanding it correctly and I still have a lot to learn and probably the way I wrote it isn’t what I truely mean, but one thing I like to practice is what I eat, for example pork and other animals. If anyone can share I would truely appreciate the different perspectives that hopefully lead to better understanding.
Seeing as I am watching this video two years after it was posted, I think a safe answer to Brian Harper's question is that the rapture did not happen within a couple of months
When Mary went to touch Jesus, after he resurrected, Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” (John 20:17) Also, clearly Lazarus was asleep in the grave for those three days when he was "dead." If he had gone directly to Heaven, he would have said something.
min 36 the "moving" of the comma...for "today" how do you explain then when Jesus said don't touch me as I have not yet ascended to my father. This was after the resurrection. Can someone explain this then?
I saw Jesus Christ in a quite a distance, in my dreams. He was in clouds and was not moving, the robe He had on showed that He stood at His place. So it make me think that He is coming but He is waiting. Maybe, so that more souls could be saved...that is my guess. Sorry for my typos i am european. I am not a prophet, dreamd of Him and I am very thankful.
I apologize if someone said this already. Luke 23:43 is another verse that illustrates being with the Lord immediately after death. "...today you will be with me in Paradise."
There is a punctuation uncertainty with this one! It could be “I say to you today, you will be with me in paradise” or “I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” A comma changes the meaning a surprising amount and since there is no punctuation in the original Greek manuscripts, there is some assumption that has to go on.
To be clear - I’m not saying I don’t believe we’ll go straight to be with the Lord! Just thought id provide a fun fact/verse that people who don’t believe we go straight there will see as a weak argument! :)
40:31 Oh wow!!!! Oh wow!!!You watched the Chosen!!🤩😍😃😇🥳 Im SSSUUUuper excited you started watching it. The makers of Chosen make very clear which parts they added and make it clear that it is not all from scripture but an helpful narrative to let us imagine what 1st century was like. Dalls Jenkins and the chosen team are working hard and very prayerfully approaching any and all fictional parts. Watching just made me go to my Bible and study it more diligently. Many many friends and family who watched the series had the same experience!! You just cant enough of the Bible once you get into studying it!! Pleeeeeease watch the entire serise it is well done drama. The bar scene was accepted by them as not part of 1st century but they have reasons why they chose to portray it that way, they have videos explaining what and why was added. They are very diligent in explaining all the fictional stuff
The guy that plays Jesus on the chosen is a necromancer and is devout to Mary. The producers are Mormon. They are not biblically accurate in the show. It is a mishmash of different religious people that are out of whack making a show that is not biblical. There are so many things wrong with this show. It is not a good resource. Good fight ministries. Did a video on this and it was really helpful. We don't want to put our trust in faith in a counterfeit Christ. We need to choose better resources.
Access to tree of life. Mortality vs immortality. The rua essence of life. Spirit vs Soul. These are all topics that frame what happens at death. Keep studying.
It's important to talk about the difference meanings of the word sleep. It matters to help get the whole context. There are like three different meanings and three different sleeps.
Hi Mike, I missed your questions but I have one I would like you to address if possible (I will try to ask during your next question/answer time also). I am working on my Master's in Counseling. They are talking a lot about how beneficial mindfulness is. A counselor friend views it as being "mindful" aware of what is going on in your mind and body. I have watched Doreen Virtue's video on this but I don't see that it is dangerous. It seems reasonable and the bible talks a lot about meditation. Wouldn't it just be meditation?
I think it may seem like you see God right away. God is not restrained by time. Another thought, we are not aware of the passage of time in a deep sleep. I don’t know!
Questions on Q 1: What is the support for the first statement - that our bodies will be themselves resurrected. Of course they will be different, but what (verse or reference) indicates that they are still ours, personal, connected to and alike our old physical bodies? How do we know that absent from the body present with the lord is conscious? That we are still personal and aware? As many verses/references as possible please.
Ruth, I think the only biblical clue is the one Mike extrapolated from when Jesus showed Thomas the nail holes in His hands (and also the wound in his side) which happened after His death and resurrection. Joh 20:24-29. If Jesus kept a healed version of His body that retained the scars of his earthly body but could instantly pop in and pop out of a room, then why can't his followers? Not sure I'd want the scars, though. I was hoping for a new (taller, thinner) version.
@@KeyWester1 that was Jesus. I’ve always believed the same but it was recently pointed out from me that from a strictly biblical standpoint, there is no real support for the same bodies to be resurrected for each individual human. “Then why can’t” is just not a logical or deductive argument. I’d love to hear some real support, but this seems to be the only reason I can find…
RE: Q 11 on the Chosen is bringing people who aren't interested in scripture an interpretation of the events of the scripture and primarily the narrative of the gospel. I'm also leery of bad theology, but so far it seems above board. They do fill in the blanks and take some liberties, but it's a good way to get people interested where they weren't before.
Thank you for your always insightful and biblical teaching. My question is, if we are immediately present with the Lord upon death and then receive our glorified bodies at the second coming of Christ, where does the judgment-seat occur? Immediately after death or after we get our glorified bodies? It seems we should be judged before we are allowed to be in the presence of the Lord.
Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference:
0:00 Introduction
1. 0:17 Do we go directly to be with God when we die? Will we see Him immediately, or is there some type of "soul sleep" that happens?
2. 8:29 What do you think about pages like "Memes for Jesus"?
I know that we are saved by our faith and not by the law, but what does it mean to be "confined to" and "imprisoned by" the law?
13. 46:48 If Jesus was raised back to life as a human with a body, and not as a spiritual being, then how did He suddenly appear in the locked room with the disciples?
14. 48:02 I would love to know your thoughts on what it means to pray "in Jesus' name" such as in John 16: 24.
15. 50:10 If a man wants to be water baptized, do they need a specific level of understanding of the Bible and Christianity, or just the desire and a simple understanding of baptism?
16. 51:39 How can I renew my love for God when He seems commonplace?
17. 53:26 I have left a "Word of Faith" church and I am actively speaking out about their false doctrine, but it is affecting my relationship with my sister. What should I do?
18. 55:04 How do we draw the line between wrestling with God and having vain repetitions in our prayers? How long is it appropriate to keep praying for something?
19. 56:45 I am an aspiring pastor, and I hope to be the shepherd of a church one day. Until then, what are some good things for me to be doing? How can I prepare myself better for pastorship?
20. 59:14 How do I speak to a pastor who tends to use feel good phrases like "you are enough" and "Jesus came to bring a piece of Heaven to Earth"? I find these phrases unbiblical.
Mad appreciative for the time stamps 👏

Pre-wrath rapture makes the most since. Studied all my life about these. Read the verses without shoehorning in a preconceived pre-trib view.
I lost my 22yr old daughter. She was in Christ and I just can't imagine seeing her again although I truly believe I will. It's so hard to grasp heaven. Thanks for this topic. I really needed it.
I'm sorry. She was as young. God bless you. You'll see your baby again.
Lon Spector What does this mean that at age 30, you are an adult in God’s eyes?
I feel you! Dig into your local (healthy!) church and Bible study, the nerds who love this are out there!
Praying for you, look me up on Facebook I would do theology with you or just use me to bounce questions. God Bless you
@@staceyforehand9513 I’ll do that!

All stories have good moral/biblical lessons and some are surprisingly deep at times.

All this to say, you and your ministry are a big part of my life, and how I learn about God, the Bible, and Christian culture. may God bless you, your family, your church, and your ministry.

Yes !! One of my favorite verses!
Pastor Mike im a 23 year old bible study teacher and I love God. I do feel like I have to relearn a lot. I learn alot from your channel.
Whether it’s instantaneous or after the resurrection of the body, it still feels instantaneous to the individual.
Luke 23:42-43 ("Jesus, remember me in your kingdom", Jesus says:, "Truly I say to you, TODAY, you will be with me in paradise".)
Thankful to Jesus that you're over your illness! Love you brother 💕
I wish everyone that speaks on this topic had a NDE. NDE are a blessing.
I was almost in a car accident about a year ago on a mountain side. I pulled a way from the accident by a white light. I knew the light was the light of God. I was only receiving a glimpse of God's glory. There was no words to describe the light or the feelings that the light awakens.
The answer to quite a few questions is "Yeah, put Mike Winger on." So thank you for that.
Lol, I do the same! Its " oh you know who has a great teaching on that? Mike winger, let me find that video for you".
Lol, right?!!
the amount of time and mike's whole teaching makes it very comforting and knowledgable . he is really a good teacher .
KJV 2COR 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Bless you and your ministry! I listen to you frequently and am comforted by you teachings. I sometimes feel distant from the Lord you help me draw closer to our Father.
This was excellent. So much good information! I found myself nodding my head and shouting Amen many many times! Thank you!
Mike, thanks for your bible based teaching.
Also pastor Mike, I love your videos! Thank you for the in depth Bible studies! They're awesome!
@@dakotadaily7404 The truth is soul sleep is unbiblical.
The truth is, soul sleep is unbiblical.
@@tyronehelm4778 I hear that over and over but I've never actually heard anyone explain why. Can you explain it to me?
@@dakotadaily7404 The issue stems from a misunderstanding of the soul, spirit, and body. The main point to keep in mind is that its only the body that goes back into the dust of the earth, not the soul and spirit. Jesus himself said man is only capable of killing the body and not the soul, so we see they can't be the the same. Even in Revelation 9:6-9 the souls of slain martyrs are conversing with the Lord on the timeframe for their vengeance. Hope this help to shine light
2 Cor 5:8 NKJ We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
Yep😂

2022 watcher here- the first 8 minutes of this video are what I needed. Thank you
Actually no, if you are unconscious until the resurrection, you also would experience instant ressurection with everyone else. Not only would you be with the Lord instantly from your perspective, but you would have your new body.
If u believe in soul sleep u r forced to this conclusion. Otherwise the scripture contadicts it.
Absent from the body, Present with The Lord....
Cries ~the thief that was on the cross that today you will be with me in paradise. Can you answer that question
I Wish I knew what I know now:
Wisdom is the principal thing
All this time just wasted, thinking I own anything
Humility clothes me
From the top of my head, to the soles of my feet
YAH Teach me
Show me the way
Hide my face from the wickedness of this world,
I pray you Take my hand
Protect my heart
Hide me in the shadow of your wing
Like a child see Purity in my eyes
Allow me to sit at your feet
Hear me YAH
Show me your ways teach me your paths
I'm yielding to your will
Your loving commitment will endow me and
Surround me in my coming and my going
Cleanse me ABBA
Purge me ABBA
I want to be white as snow
So I may testify of your love to those in search of you
Show me the way
You desire truth in
The inward Parts, to allow me know you
Take my hand
Casting all my cares upon you
Refresh me with the Waters of life
Like a child crying Softly, forgive me
Allow me to approach your throne ABBA
KNOW ME
PLEASE ABBA YAHUAH

You counted “The spiritual side of yoga stuff, not stretching” (around the 20:20 mark) as one of the forgeries we shouldn’t take up. Yes, but that implies that yoga stretching is ok? I was under the impression that yoga stretches are poses that are used in Hinduism to summon their deities. We call them demons. I’m nervous about adopting a pose that might get their attention!!
Thank you for all you do!!
1:02:45 I find that by disarming the person with a smile and asking questions while staying in our skin, we can break through the barriers.
Thank you for your teaching. Have a great day!
In referencing the coma in "Today". If Jesus was saying...this very day you will be with me in paradise, how could he say to Mary, 3 days later at the tomb that he hadn't yet ascended to the the Father?
Love that on the first question.
Priorities from Earth:
“Serve the Lord here”
Priorities for Heaven:
“Be with the Lord there”
I love listening to your commentary!!
Can you do a video about Ray Comfort and Way of the Master . . .
I go to prepare a place for you and I will come back to receive you. At the time that he made this promise, the place was not yet prepared. He was speaking to persons, not bodies. The dead are in their grave, awaiting the coming of Jesus.
2 CORINTHIANS 5:8
KJ21
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
2Cor. 5:8 has
"that phrase"
We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be
absent from the body and to be present with the Lord."
GOD BLESS
God Bless Pastor Mike love Q & A
The Holy Spirit raises up from among you pastors
On that one question, when Jesus was alone, how did the writers of the Word know what He prayed? The answer is the Spirit of God spoke as they wrote the Word. The Holy Spirit spoke into every writer that penned the Holy Word of God. That’s the answer.
What do you do if you don’t think you are worthy enough for Jesus
No one is worthy. The same rule applies. Hear the Gospel, believe the Gospel, confess your sins to God, repent of your sins, and be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. When the Holy Spirit bids you to come to the Lord. Hear Him and be obedient.
What I’m finding, about Christian humor, is that I fall into it the more I watch these vids do deep dives into scripture.
It’s so abstract and difficult at times, I get 🤪 ….yes, discretion is important.
It will seem like right away but will be at the ressurection.
I wouldn't say laughter makes you think things are less problematic than they are. Rather it let's you put it in perspective
You are humbly awesome!
I personally think memes are fine as long as it's coupled with deep thinking and isn't necessarily mockery. I think God has a sense of humor and we should too. But of course, if you feel like by joking about the bible you'd be tempted to sin, don't. And be wise.
He has a big sense of humor. 🤣Bless His Name.

Jesus' parable of Lazarus and the rich man shows that no contact/help from people in heaven or sheol is possible. That's why "today is the day of salvation" and Luke 16:31 "if they do not respond to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead."
Totally agree with Mike that any 'interaction' with heaven should be with God through Jesus - not dead loved ones.
A shame people dont know what they have.
it all comes down to what have you done latly?, acording to your faith,so be it
You’re still quoting when you say, “to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord” it’s a King James Version quote. Love ya’ll
Today, on the cross looking like a condemned man, I can take you to Paradise because I am a king. THE King.
Is Paradise where the Father is? Because Christ tells Mary on resurrection morning that He had not yet ascended to His Father. Where did He take the thief?
It could have been paradise in Abraham's bosom in Sheol. Then he led all of them to Heaven.

Watch the chosen. It’s a view from the people around. Done very well.
Thanks Pastor Mike

A quick thought experiment : Should we go into a dreamless soulsleep and then wake up at the end of the time, would it not then, from our perspective, be being with the Lord immediately anyway?
Mike, you should read The Day Approaching by Amir Tsarfati of Behold Israel. I think he handles the aspect of end times very well and biblically, and I also love that he brings in a lot of Israeli culture and information that we as Americans aren’t really aware of.
14:02 There was a book published in 1988 titled "88 Reasons the Rapture Will Happen in '88." When the Rapture didn't happen, it was published again the next year as "89 Reasons the Rapture Will Happen in '89."
lol
I remember that. They said something about the Rapture happening at the 40. year mark after Israel became a nation, so that would be 1988. A lot of people believed this. (Not me). They forgot that Jesus Christ basically said not to name dates for the Rapture or His Second Coming.
Q. 1 seems kind of pointless when you consider that God and Heaven are outside of time. If you ponder this in the light of this question, it kind of just blows your mind.
My dad died in August. My first question was where is he now? I was desperate to know he was safe.
We should celebrate this (:
I pray for your comfort on earth, you’ll see him again.
So they are not quoting that wrong, just using a different translation.
lared they are translating the Greek/Hebrew into English so it literally is a translation.
The dead are asleep they know nothing....I forget the exact book and verse.
I disagree with pre-trib rapture, but it’s far more important to get ready, to dig deep, find our truths in Christ, repent, and don’t be tolerant of the rampant lies going on.
Thank you Mike. This is something I've been wondering about.
1 Thessalonians 4:13
13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.
What about re-baptism? I got baptized almost 3 years ago and I feel a small voice telling me that I should get baptized again.
baptism is just a announcement of giving yourself to Christ.
"He is Glorious" ... YES!
Bless you pastor Mike, you whippersnapper. You know far more than I do and you’re probably 1/3 my age😂❤️🙏🏼
I apologize if someone said this already. Luke 23:43 is another verse that illustrates being with the Lord immediately after death.
"...today you will be with me in Paradise."
Just got to the question about that verse. Yahtzee!
@Lon Spector good point.
@Lon Spector Enoch, Elijah: Aren't they assumed to heaven?
There is a punctuation uncertainty with this one! It could be “I say to you today, you will be with me in paradise” or “I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” A comma changes the meaning a surprising amount and since there is no punctuation in the original Greek manuscripts, there is some assumption that has to go on.
To be clear - I’m not saying I don’t believe we’ll go straight to be with the Lord! Just thought id provide a fun fact/verse that people who don’t believe we go straight there will see as a weak argument! :)
40:31 Oh wow!!!! Oh wow!!!You watched the Chosen!!🤩😍😃😇🥳
Im SSSUUUuper excited you started watching it.
The chosen episode 8 is my favourite. I think you'll love it. Really gets me thinking
Questions on Q 1:
What is the support for the first statement - that our bodies will be themselves resurrected.
Please watch the rest of the series and let us know your thoughts. So far, i agree with your perspective on the chosen.
51:39
Thank you!
For anyone else with that problems: just don't forget to repent
Thank you for your always insightful and biblical teaching. My question is, if we are immediately present with the Lord upon death and then receive our glorified bodies at the second coming of Christ, where does the judgment-seat occur? Immediately after death or after we get our glorified bodies? It seems we should be judged before we are allowed to be in the presence of the Lord.
