@@schlAUwg They like to call Trump voters "cult members" but we're not the ones removing family and friends for not having the same opinions, which is a huge sign you're in a cult. Nor greatly exaggerating what the opinions of people who disagree with us even are. I mean, these people are going around saying we're all evil because they keep being told we want to get rid of all immigrants even legal ones, trans people and gay marriage, which is ALL BS. I mean, there's people in these comments justifying someone murdering their father because he voted for Trump. How f'ing scary and cult-like is that.
Reality is, people are making more money than ever, yet are more broke than ever. Living in an Era where gender politics and dudes in drag bent able to enter women's sports and use women's bathrooms became more important than, you know, people with families making $80k a year having to choose between keeping the lights on or being able to buy food... The left used to be the party of the people, but as Rob Schneider recently said, "The left went so far left, they left the American People behind."
Are we talking about the people who believe Trump's lies about the 2020 election? The guy tried to stay in power after losing. Thats not how elections are supposed to work.
Yep. I didn't even "support" a different side than most around me in 2015-17 and everyone went mad and vicious anyways just from some quiet suggestions to look deeper and verify everything. 2020 was even worse, utter strangers turned rabid... Legit scary to even go our in public with valid reason. So I have utterly avoided so much as an entirely non political opinion or sharing anything like an opinion or viewpoint. With anyone, and certainly around family or work!
Ah, and no one has ever been wrong about their personal moral code. It's a really reliable and safe way to operate the world - at any given time someone's "morals" are usually going to be strong. We believe what we believe, and to be so, so certain that they are right only shuts down conversation and the ability to move forward. I also believe it radicalized the opposition, or sometimes, moderates. It's good to have your own morals, and to stand up for them, but I wish people would have a little humility and stop thinking people who disagree with them MUST be evil or stupid, otherwise they'd never believe what they do. Very arrogant for someone to be certain their world view is objectively correct and no one else's could be.
@genevievec.8002 It's hilarious to me that now all of the sudden people on the right who support Trump, the man who is most responsible for the division in this country with his non stop personal attacks on his opponents, and consant lies about elections being rigged are now all of the sudden asking for unity and for everyone to move forward? Where was this attitude in 2020? Or even better, in 2008 when Obama won by an actual landslide and people on the right wree openly rooting for him to fail. This fr9m the people who supports man who has never shown any i terest in unity. Only chaos and division.

Typically, when you vote for someone who actively strips certain rights away, people tend to look at you sideways! Or the person who claimed pets were being consumed. Certainly didnt stop anyone.
Seriously. Voting for the wolf who will “leave it up to the states” to decide if it’s legal to hunt and eat sheep, and then being confused why the sheep in your family wouldn’t want to associate with you anymore is pure lunacy. These people are so unserious and detached from reality, it’s truly sad.
My daughter and I are on different sides of the political divide. We have chosen to simply not discuss politics at all, but instead to focus on things we both enjoy.
My mom didn't talk to me for the past week. Finally picked up the phone yesterday and we agreed to just leave politics out of our relationship. It was a bit strained at first but we love eachother and that beat out our differences.
I tried that, my daughter said she won’t talk to me. That’s it because I voted for Trump. She won’t discuss anything else, she won’t even answer my calls.
@Ninnjette- I'm so sorry to hear that. I am thankful that my daughter is willing to put politics aside and have a relationship based on other common interests.
I’m Hawaiian , born and raised in Hawai’i. All my democrat family and friends still remain just that. No politics ended that. I’m glad we can act like adults after the election
My family and group of friends is the same. We disagree and argue and call eachother retarded over our opinions and views. Then all is right. It's not personal. It's just different ideas and lived experiences. Though none of them believe the really dumb shit like "men can have babies" and "All whites are racist". I lost my best friend of 20 years because of politics. I wasn't badgering or being condescending with my views, I was simply asked certain questions, and I answered them calmly. Then was immediately shunned for thinking that way, and was soon ghosted to never speak again. I insisted that this should not deter our relationship with one another, and that I support her for feeling that way, this is America and you have a right to think what you want to think. I assured this person that It doesn't phase me, and still wanted to be the best of friends. My friend used to adore me, now I'm abhorrent on the turn of a dime. Haven't spoken to that person since Jan 2020. I was dumbfounded that this could even happen. Truly sad.
I am so sorry! This is like a death. Please grieve, and know you are not alone. If you give yourself permission to grieve, you can heal. I am still healing after 2 years, but know i now see all the signs of my friend’s toxic behavior that I dismissed because I loved her. I lost one of my two best friends of 15+ years at the beginning of summer, and basically lost the other since then. The first (male) called me (female) a fascist transphobic bigot who wants to strip ppl of their rights because I criticized Biden and objected to incarcerated male convicts self-IDing into female prison cells, then blocked me. The second (also male) silently stood by as his fiance (female) broached the topic of gender for the sole purpose of attacking me on it (not discussing, attacking) and told me that "white women" exaggerate the threat of gr@p3... the topic was (again) male convicts self-IDing into female housing. That friendship isn't totally over but it's on ice.
I'm a very anti-confrontational person but i put a handful of my friends on 'hide' until post-election on Facebook. I didn't want to argue with them and did not want to always have their vitriolic posts bogging down my feed every morning.
I do have a question. When Trump at times would have a random person of color placed behind him and quizzically asked, "Where's my African-American"? How did you feel about it? I'm white and it really bothered me.
You're not alone with this experience. My sister-in-law won't talk to us or her brother. Also, my step sister won't talk to me. We never brought up politics, both of them did in every single time we communicated. Finally we just announced we're conservatives - and that's all we said. That's all it took, they wanted nothing to do with us. My sister-in-law actually called her brother and my wife, racists. We are damn near 70 and I can't remember a time when they were not in our lives. Insane times brother.

If asked, I refuse to answer yet noticed how much it means to them I feel the same way, imo. 👵🤐🇬🇧
"Politics" isn't a ridiculous matter. Politics is just the concise way of describing "the way you view the world and the people around you". Losing someone over politics is losing someone because you disagree with their fundamental worldview.
Uhh not really bro. Our worldview should not be limited to just 2 sides or 2 colors. Not to mention the nuances that go into picking the right candidate. If you view politics as a game of left and right and you infuse ideology into your everyday life, then yeah you will suffer from this. I think trump would make a better pres, that being said, I am upset about the abortion ban. Life isn't so black and white bruh.
@Klevermoregames this is really going to bake your noodle then... the "rugged individualism" espoused by the conservative sode ofnour government, by your treatise, is bad since by definition an individual goal is not a group goal... ao individualism is the ultimate expression of division. Are you telling me that communism, every individual working for the good of the group... is a good thing? 🤔
It's been going on since at least the 70's (my experience). Makes us feminist supporters while younger, but dating and observing womens choices later quickly educates against that. Being told to just listen, and not fix something obviously fixable - is just insanity.
Left or right if you lose family over politics, then it's your family's problem not yours. Everyone makes choices in life, you shouldn't be told how to choose.
I really used to agree with this, but the right wing in this country is so insane. While i may not entirely condone breaking off with family over politics, i can definitely see scenarios with left or right wing idiots that would lead me to break relationships off.
@TDBanimefan just sounds like bias if you call the right insane. Both sides have unhinged people, I don't know how you can just say one side is bad. There is no true "good" side.
It depends. By “politics” do you mean what’s the best way to fund the department of education, or trans people don’t deserve to live? Because if my family members are in support of deporting millions of people and taking rights away from LGBTQIA+ people, that’s a difference in morality, not politics.
I'm spanish and also know how politics can destroy families and friendships. This is one of the main goals of politics, maybe the most important one: dividing people.
@@arthurpendragon3000 It's been working since Roman era. "Divide et impera," which translates to "divide and rule" and is often attributed to Julius Caesar, although the strategy was employed by other Romans before Julius' time. This suggests that neither of you feels you will be hurt by the Trump regime. For those who see a vote for Trump as a vote against their life, there can be no compromise.
I firmly believe that social media is a resonance box where disagreements, dissapointments, little annoyances, etc, are amplified to a point where they become hate. And it is not going to stop distiling that hate to create more extreme emotions and behaviours and later into who knows what. People whose starting point is - as you pointed out - being a not-so-great individuals, are going to be the first to externalize those behaviours. Greetings from Spain.
Before the internet and 24 hr news channels, once you left school or work, your problems were over for the day. Most of the time, you forgot about issues by the next morning, and life went on. Now it's 24/7 stoking the flames. Sad.
People who are so hate-filled are not normal. Spiritual warfare is going on within families as well as in nations. Prayers for all who need release from Satan's chaos and for the family members who are being hurt.
This is an insane thing to say when a great portion of trump supporters beliefs are based on hatred lmao. The kkk and LITERAL neo Nazis voted for trump. Why do you think that is? How does it feel to share beliefs with some of the worst people in the country?
White, middle age woman from Sweden here. I totally get you. I feel sorry for my son, he don't understand what he did wrong, just for being a man. You're an absolutely beautiful person. Go with your wife, live life together, create your own family, based out of love and respect.
Women are equally capable of cruelty. Yet men are seemingly not allowed to bring it up. They are not allowed either to not want to engage, lest they be seen as all sorts of terrible things with a litany of insults for the rest of their lives. And assumptions that they will forever have the worst intentions. Even so much as those who ask for a shelter to avoid abuse get shut down, labeled, and ridiculed by women. I've endured much cruelty. Among the least impactful is I've been broken up with on both my birthday, and on Christmas, making both of those very special days come with painful memories. The Christmas one came with being cheated on. These are the least cruel things that I've endured because other things are private. And I'm sure, because I'm a man, than women will look at that sort of statement and assume that I deserved it somehow. That I'm the terrible one. Because it makes you feel good. Validated and superior maybe. I don't know.
Maybe I can offer a weird perspective. You see a really colorful fruit and take a bite out of it. It tastes sour or rotten, but you keep attracting yourself to these colorful fruits. Then when you've had enough of these colorful fruits and get pissy about their taste, you blame all fruits and not just the colorful fruits. That trauma will lead you to voting for a president that also indirectly blames the fruit and wants to help you recover from eating said fruit. However, all of these fruit recovery benefits are useful unless you never ate the colorful fruits. Now you wasted a vote and you'll go back to eating colorful fruits after you recover from eating colorful fruits. An endless loop that is held together by two choices and/or decisions.
My best friend of over 24 years wrote an email to me the morning after the election ending our friendship. This is someone I spoke to almost every day.
Leave it at that for now. He should be the one to reach back out to you and apologize. Do NOT beg for them to come back or you will regret it. I’ve seen a few people try to reach out to those who cut off the relationship and it basically turned into a struggle session. They ended up resenting them
You are not alone. I've had many close family and friends go absolutely nuts over this. I think the way that I'm handling this is to let them know that your reaching a point where the good memories are starting to get trashed by their own resentment. I tell them I'm cutting ties before their negativity completely ruins the relationship. When they come back from crazy town, I'm here for them. I make sure they know the love is there and I'm stepping away before too much is said. If they can't clear their own emotions, at least the memories stay positive. I know that's a rather blunt way to be, but it's not fair for them to expect you to sacrifice who you are to appease them. You only end up hating both of you in the end. God bless and good luck.
Right on! I’m glad people are standing up to this abusive behavior. You’re not going to demand I change and then insult me every chance you get because you’re mad you lost. Some of these people really act like they’re allowed to treat you like crap and get away with it.
@@toshland5687 Its not because they lost they're mad. Its because of what the symbolism of voting for trump means. Hint: voting for trump means you are any number of the following: Politically unaware of his own party's policies (ignorance is not a defense), okay with racism, sexism, and SA, and are okay with a literal convicted felon (so much for rule of law, eh?) being elected to the highest office, the removal of civil rights from minority groups and other deeply negative traits. And for what, because the price of eggs is higher because of a multi-year outbreak of bird flu? That's why things are the way they are. Who you vote for is a reflection of who you are.
I woke up today before work with a text message from my best friend that I have known since we were in pre-school. His text stated that he doesn't know how he and I can remain friends because Trump won the election with a popular vote, and he knows that I voted for Trump. When Biden took the office, he and I had no problems, even though he knew I voted for Trump...but now, since Trump won, we can't be friends. He and I are both only children, and I was in the direct family table at his wedding. Almost a quarter century of friendship, gone because of an election where his world view lost by popular mandate. One of my other friends stated that this was due to him believing he was morally superior when my candidate lost, but now that my candidate won, he can't handle that his ideas lost. I told him that politics is petty to end a friendship like ours (but in a nicer way), that I still respected him, that I still saw him as family, and that I would always be around for him, even if he doesn't want to be around for me. It hurts, but if he wants to go over something so petty after years of us discussing where we agree and disagree with enthusiasm and respect, then so be it. I come from a family of Democrats, my mom is a hardcore MSNBC worshiping Democrat, my dad is an old school JFK style Democrat with some conservative Libertarian stances. I love them. They still love me. We just disagree. I am not a Trump Supporter as a title that I have seen. I am a Libertarian, and I have plenty of disagreements/grievances when it comes to Trump...but I thought he was the best candidate on the ballot and Kamala was the worst.

@lynnm6413 your government bans parties that are actual opposition to the Progressive Liberal regimes. Opposition isn't allowed in your country according to your government, even if your country votes against the regime. Having multiple parties mean nothing if they all just work together against the people who they are supposed to represent, both the Republicans and Democrats do the same thing here, Trump is the first honest "opposition" we have had in decades, and I pray that he succeeds...but as a Libertarian who is also sympathetic to monarchism, I am extremely skeptical of politicians, Trump was just the best option and his transition team have been making good work so far. Monarchies need a comeback, not the heretical monarchy of the Brits, but proper Monarchs with the blessing of the Papacy. This is my "extreme" view.
My brother is a liberal and we can't even talk anymore without him bringing up politics (Mostly Trump and how much he dislikes him). We grew up close. It's sad because I find it easier just to avoid talking to him.
My roommate was like that. Every day when we got home from work we would smoke and play music for each other, because we were both major music nerds. Every single day he would bring up Trump, specifically how much he didn't like him and how he made him feel. Every single day for years, no exaggeration. He would tell me the same thing as if he hadn't already said it 100s of times. It became a game for me, to see if I could steer the conversation in such a way that he didn't bring up Trump. You could say something completely neutral like "these eggs need more salt." and he would immediately launch in to "Did you see the time trump was eating with people and his salt shakers were so much bigger than everyone else at the table's?"

It's not just the media, it's the media and politics working together to form the division. Oh, and Hollywood which also works with the media and politics.

Fox news has been the largest media outlet for decades and most of the independent media are conservative. The mainstream media is conservative and it's not even close. 9 out of 10 of the top political streamers on election night were right wingers. Saying the mainstream media is left is absolutely brain dead.
Yup. I feel like a vet who's done half a dozen long in country tours at this point. Doesn't matter if you are left right center, if you are sane, do independent thinking, and research yourself you get attacked and shunned by the crazies. And they are ALWAYS from the same camp. The camp I spent most of my life believing I was a typical part of- until the masks came off. Repeatedly since '15. They are cult members incapable of thinking for themselves or a non fanatical reaction to even a whiff of non compliance with the narrative. No more. They can twist in the wind for eternity
I mean it’s a pretty simple deduction, most people know Trump won by now. At least we can depend on Democrats to not storm into the capital and try to delay official government proceedings. After all it had nothing to do with policy, just a raging misandrist who happens to be in his family.
I know it's not your situation, but hits a lot of the same notes. I'm a gay man, married to my husband (8 years married, 28 years together). The male candidate you mentioned is bringing into his cabinet and nominating judges that want to overturn Obergefell and invalidate my marriage. I kinda take that personally. So when a family member votes for that candidate, they're giving a clear message that my marriage matters less to them than the price of eggs or gas. By the way, that's not "just politics". Politics is how we decide as a people how to treat people. Who to help and who not to. What to punish and who to reward. It's a reflection of what expect of ourselves. And when you vote for people that are intending to do things that will hurt the people you love, I have to wonder how much you really love them. Again, your situation is different. Just explaining why there may be good reason to cut things off with someone because of how they vote. Because that vote can have direct and personal consequences.
Narcissism is rampant in the U.S. Educating yourself on narcissistic traits and behaviors can help you see that it isn’t you who is the problem and that narcissism isn’t curable, short of a miracle. Distancing yourself from the controlling person is your best hope of living in peace.
@foxanard It actually astound's me at the sheer level of blind faith that Trump supporters have.. and it's not even like there aren't a ton of receipts out there of him being just the absolute worst. But no, it's always the dem's fault, or no, he actually meant something other than what he actually said.. and people wonder why it so often gets called a cult of personality. I have never bought into any party or individuals that I would not call them out on it.. hell i have railed at my wife about what a typical corrupt corporate dem Kamala is when you look at her history but she was still a much better choice than the angry orange. But due to a number of factors maga supporters got what they wished for there are no excuses this time.. this will either be 'the golden age of America' or a complete sh-t show like his first term was only time will tell.
I came from a very conservative family. A few days after the election, one of my nieces (who is probably the only liberal in the entire extended family) decided to tell everyone else in the family off and she doesn’t want us to contact her anymore. So, I guess I will fulfill her request. I’ll miss her kids at Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are adorable.

@@coppermutant you mean how conservatives might have had g ay family members they loved but then decided to h ate them because a right wing politician or infleuncer told them to? Doesn't get more culty than that.
I have also been affected in a similar way by a family member who is obsessed with Trump and republicans. Called me a bunch of names (the same that left wing media use) and posts in a group chat about them every single day. I called them out for it because i was sick of seeing it, being called disgusting names and called them out for how they speak about their own friends when they're not around. My family member then proceeded to play the victim and suggest we don't speak anymore. Eventually they apologized, and i did too for my response. They haven't spoken to me since, and continue to keep posting the same things. Best of all, we aren't even American.
I'm sorry you've had that happen. It's crazy for family, or anyone you're close to, to be so rude and aggressive over politics, especially when it's not even the politics of your own country. Doesn't matter which side of the isle it's from either, it's just full on inappropriate.
I am sorry that you and your wife are having to deal with this. As one of your loyal viewers, I can say that I love your commentary and you are obviously a very intelligent man. You are doing the right thing to protect your family and your wife sounds like an amazing woman that supports her husband as spouses are supposed to do. I know it's not the same but you have an online family that supports you too.
It's easy... those who view politics as "just politics" are those who don't actually have enough empathy for others or don't have enough respect for themselves as someone who is greatly affected by those very "politics." And those who view politics as what they are, "morals," (such as myself) are able to feel empathy for others, and maybe even themselves. Especially when you've actually done enough research to know how these decisions greatly affect us. Especially when said politics deal with the human rights of minorities. The reason why it's disrespectful and idiotic for people who believe in these things only being considered as politics and not a true test of morality, is because this is bigger than cheaper groceries and gas. This is different from climate change, although very important. We aren't talking about whether states with a lot of flooding should get to choose whether or not they want to add a seawall. We're talking about states getting to choose what a woman can do with her body, even when it comes to saving her life over the fetus inside her because doctors are afraid going to jail for aiding in so-called "murder." It's about our new president wholeheartedly saying he will give Whites who are affected by "racism" towards them under the guise of equity, or the use of DEI and BLM and even LGBTQ+ "propaganda" will be given reparations for the harm done to them. But on the other hand, it gives police officers full immunity 😀. We cannot be stupid and look at our history and think "I have no idea what he means." But those who can say that. Those who can ignore civil rights issues like these and our KNOWN history are the ones who say it's all just politics. Now I definitely voted for my rights not to be taken away, and I have done PLENTY of my own independent research outside of the news (as we all should have), but because my son isn't old enough to be able to have these thoughts and discussions, we are still a family. But once he's old enough to be able to learn about our history and ALL of it's assets. Then he can choose what his connection with them is. But as for me, especially wanting to have more kids, my husband and I, with the same views, are unfortunately tolerating the intolerable until we can't anymore. We definitely argue, but I promise you if I hear one thing about the election Imma stop everything, ask everyone involved if they have actual researched information and media to back up their claims, and if not (which they never do but their eyes) then Imma say cool, let's not and just eat. Because I refuse to debate or argue with my son around and I also refuse to argue with uneducated ass people. It infuriates me. I wasn’t forced to take writing intensive, research-based college courses for nothing. So, yeah, politics aren't just politics. And honestly, ever since discrimination was a thing, it hasn't been about just politics. It became morality test 🤷🏾♀️. And those who ignore that fact are idiots 🤷🏾♀️. Sorry not sorry. But I completely understand people leaving their families or kicking out certain people. Go where you're fully appreciated and loved. If you tolerate it, you either don't care or just have certain priorities.
And you think Kamala cares about you? Politicians are mostly psychopaths who crave for power, they want money and power, nothing more, you'll start to notice when the years go by and you grow older that what the party you support has made has no real value in life and in the future. They just tell what you want to hear, and make some foolish regulations that doesn't change anything meaningful. Changes in society comes from the individuals in that society, their interactions and relationships, they do not come from politicians! What I mean is that if you want real changes you should relate with as many people you are able to, and understand, share povs, agree and disagree, and grow together to create a better future. That is something that would truly change society. Politicians won't do anything like that, they don't want to! They will try to stop you from doing it in fact! Giving power to a politician to force others to do something will lead those others wanting next turn another politician in power to force you to do something, and that's what politicians want, to divide people and to make them believe they are your only hope in a country filled with evil people. When you understand they laugh together while drinking wine watching the society they divided fight each other, then you'll understand they are far off from being saviors. They may look different in their outsides, but they are very similar in their insides, they just manipulate differently.
@BeejIsHere Tbh 🤷🏾♀️. Like I don't want to sound like a bitch. But when will people just stop being selfish and willfully ignorant and accept the fact that that's who they are? And that's not great to be... This info is easily accessible... soooo
Look no one like to cut off family but if it is just cutting you down every chance they get then you don't need them in you'r life . I am so sorry you are going through this may you move forward and leave the toxicity in you're past may 2025 be better for all of us
My daughter is liberal minded (not crazy) and is my everything. I am conservative and a person of faith. We together love watching you. We love you as the human being you are. You got a family here brother!
I'll try to keep this short, but doubt it will be, I suck at getting to the point because of my brain injury. So my parents are conservative Christians. My dad was raised liberal catholic. When he met my mom and then became saved himself, my family had a fit. Within about 20 miles we have about 200 family members mind you. To top this off my dad was learning disabled but my grandmother never wanted to get him help because in the 50s, he was just an "embarrassment" to the family as the black sheep. The family had always treated us like lesser humans. I was the first born grandchild but very much ignored. The family never spent time with me because I also had health issues. And yet when my cousins were born, much of the things I was disliedk for, they accepted with them. Again, it all really stems back to my parents and I being conservative Christians. They think we athe worst of the worst. So I've spent my life with 200 or so family members locally I rarely see, even though they all get together all the time for things. My family often talks about we need to stick together because we are family, but they don't care really. They REALLY hate we aren't catholic, but they also REALLY hate we are Republican. With Trumps first running in the 2010s, it really divided us even more. We don't get invited to Christismas, New Year, July 4th parties now. At most we meet at my grandmothers where my dads siblings meet up. The family will talk about vacaitoins, spending money...etc and mostly not really talk with us as we don't lead that kind of life. Long story short, I feel you. It's ashame family splits over politics. Trump will be gone in four years, so maybe then families will heal. But I doubt it. Even my wife says she doesn't like Americans. She thinks we are to fast paced, to divided, don't know how to be friends...etc. I don't think she's wrong really. As for you and your family. I know you may be neurodivergent and I don't know if your family gets that or even cares, but I love you. You seem like an amazing guy. Even if I jab you sometimes poking at how you think. ^_^ Granted I know you wouldn't make friends with any of us on TH-cam as its hard for you to trust of course. And that's ok. It's your families loss if they want to be like this towards you. If I had a family member that lead a life like that and insulted my family, I'd be like "I am happily married unlike you, and all my kids only have one mother. And I can give them whatever they need because I have money and live in two countries! What did you do with your life again? Oh right, nothing. You hate men because you make bad choices in life with men. That's a you thing!" Ok, maybe that's a bit harsh lol. But I did tear apart my aunt along those lines when she talked about my wife. When my wife came to America my aunt invited us over and said to me and my wife "Just so you guys know, I don't approve of your marriage!" The listed reasons why because I was poor, disabled, not smart enough...etc. So I tore into her telling her "At least I haven't been married multiple times and cheated on EACH partner because I'm loose. Your 68 and married a 26 year old who makes ALOT of money designing homes. You even adopted a latino special needs son to look important, but you treated him so poorly he left at 18 and never talked to you two again." So strong Mr Boyd, we know your a good man with a good family! And for your kids sake, it may be best not to reconnect with her, I grew up with ALOT of resentment towards my family that took over to much of my life. I wish my dad would have told my family off long ago instead of hanging on.
Don’t be discouraged by this Sir if they left you because of politics then they are not your true family regardless of blood. It just shows you that they would throw you under the bus if they had the chance.
Exactly, shouldn't waste another time nor energy on people whom are quick to dismiss you over politics, at least you know who never had your back from the jump, and they can't come back and claim ignorance because we have knowledge in the palms of our hands and also a mind to questions things, as you should.
honestly - we have his side not hers, its so easy to present it like 20-30 messages daily about hate for men as that is what he see and remember. An objective view about it could be that it was 20-30 messages for some days not every day, and perhaps not even about men all the time either. And still the concept of her selecting the wrong man, again and again.... that IS a problem for some women, and there are some men that really look for that vulnerable female to take advantage of. So when you are like talking shit about her like this, and being like it was her choice.... and her fault, and she shouldnt blame all men. I mean... come on.
You really shouldn’t be surprised someone would react this way. Even if you agree with Trump winning for your own reasons, making a post celebrating his win is a statement and one that many will not take lightly considering many of the things that he has said and associated himself with. Everyone who made a post like this after the election likes to pretend after the fact that they weren’t expecting this sort of response, it’s so disingenuous and lame
The part he's saying he didn't expect was the removal of the relationship over it. You're also not taking into account how he mentions that the other person was posting DAILY political stuff, so you could just turn right around and use the same logic against them, that if THEY are going to be posting that, expect a response.
@@Archangel-cw7mq what’s there to take into account? Unlike him, she’s clearly fine with whatever reaction she received from her political posting. The logic doesn’t apply in her direction as she’s not the one making a TH-cam video whining about the social consequences of her actions🤷
I have a hard time seeing the humanity in trump supporters. Someone with so many criminal charges against him, him raping women, telling people that Haitians are eating pets, like how can anyone morally support that man. I have lots of friends and family eho voted for him, and its hard for me to see the morals in them anymore
He was never found by a jury to be guilty of rape. Don’t let the mainstream media fool you any longer. It fooled me for aa few years. I fell for it in 2016. In 2020 I had my first opportunity to vote, and decided I didn’t like either candidate so I didn’t vote. Also because I still held some water for the medias lies in trump. Around 2021 the shift happened for me and I saw how every celebrity and media outlet out of nowhere turned on him. He was loved by media, musicians, and these celebrities before he announced he was running for president as a republican. He is being unfairly prosecuted for crimes he didn’t commit. It’s Lawfare. The people of the U.S. saw through the media bs. That’s why Trump won in a landslide. Electoral Vote and popular vote. Clean sweep of the house and senate. Liberal policies just don’t work in this country. As for the Haitians part about eating animals… I mean there are videos out there from these places the Haitians were sent off to, just grilling cats. It’s not exactly hypothetical. It’s something that DID and may still be happening. You can think trump is a rude person. Fair enough. You could think he’s not super professional, and nice. Fair enough. But you have to commend him for the economy he created while in office, and the peace he ushered in around the globe. None of us who voted for trump, voted for a pastor. We voted for the leader of the U.S.
Here's the problem, pretty much EVERYTHING that you just said is all fake. That's all fabricated and cooked up by the left wing media, in order to smear him and get their candidate(s) in office. The whole reason Trump had charges was because the democratic wing of the American political system was doing everything they could to make sure he couldn't get into office again, and they failed. And now, pretty much all cases against him are being dropped (wow WhAt a SuRpRisE) because it was all B.S to begin with. The supposed Rape Victim was not raped, in fact I recommend you go check out what Bill Maher has to say about that, this person originally said that she wasn't assaulted, and then switched up her whole story and now is being used as a political tool. He's not a rapist, he's not a racist, he's not a Nazi, and my goodness he is nothing even CLOSE to Hitler. And look, I'm not saying that Trump is just this amazing and great person, he's a flawed person in many ways, but I am saying that this image that a lot of people have of him is based entirely on LIES, and you can find this easily if you remove yourself from the leftist media echo chamber. The reality is, people from all walks of life voted for Trump, because they don't buy the B.S anymore, and honestly, Trump really is someone who can actually make changes that really need to happen in this country.
Bro spent half the video dragging his family and is surprised they don't want to talk to him. lol, You didn't come here for advice, you just wants the internet to tell you you're right. Man, go talk to your fam, not a bunch of strangers online.
This election wasn't just about politics. I have plenty of friends who are Republicans, however the current era of right wing Trump supporters takes it further than just a difference in politics. Trump and his cronies are actively trying to take rights away from women, minorities, and the LGBT community. Supporting trump and or making content that supports him, is actively fighting to hurt those oppressed groups, even if you dont realize it, and try to say some bs like "its just a difference in opinion" well if you're opinion is thay i shouldnt have basic human rights , then well why the hell would i want to stay close with you? Family or not. If you cant see how supporting trump is going after your families rights you're beyond oblivious.
Hurt you say? strong word, not to be used that lightly, pills and surgeries to minors should not be a thing anyway. I don't remember anything else to be taken away. Not engaging in the pronouns thing maybe? that's not such a big deal to say it "hurts" somebody. It's always about politics! You'll understand this like "uhhh! My money is losing value! Republican time!" and "ouuugh! We really need some free meds in this country, public healthcare is ruined! Democrats time!" That's all that you can take out of politicians. Important laws to really keep people safe can be achieved in any government, and all other important changes comes from society and its people, not from politicians! Just make people care, don't seek for a politician savior, you'll just get disappointed, they're all wolves dressed as sheep.
Your family is right, and you are wrong. I hope when you realize this is true, you are able to repair your family ties. Not the deportation nonsense, as no one should wish bad luck on others, but they were right about orange being bad
After reading through some of Trump's new plans and policies, he does plan on removing legal migrants as well that came in during Biden's administration. So the next few years should be interesting. Those higher tariffs he talked about on China will come out of our pockets, because that is how it works, and his new plan to switch OT to monthly cap instead of weekly is really going to piss off his voters when they are asked to work 60 hours in a week without overtime pay. Page 592 in project 2025.
I've lost about 50% of my "circle" to the same. And while, by choice, it was never very big...the sting of friends and family - people you thought were ride-or-dies - turning away from you in contempt and disgust is hard to wrap the head around for a good while. Now I realize that they're the types that would've volunteered me for a boxcar ride to a crappy summer camp and feel lighter for it. I miss the good times, but those friends and family were lost a long time ago. It just took me a while to realize it.
That's okay, my cousins who were Trump supporters cut me off in 2016. I am an introvert and I didn't post stuff on my FB much since I realized work managers and coworkers could view my page. Plus I'm not a Hillary fan so I just didn't vote that year, but I did "like" a lot of comics making fun of Trump in 2016. Next thing I know I'm blocked by most of my cousins and an aunt. My dad is a Trump supporter and I'm not, but he's my dad. We have had our outs over the years, but I was always one to feel that family is more important than these politicians because they are honestly complete strangers. If your family needs something, Trump, Kamala, Cruz, Vance, Biden, Pelosi, McConnell etc aren't going to come to your home and help you.
You mean Trump didn't fly over Asheville with bags full of fuckin money or food? Wild, to hear everyone else tell it, he swooped in O'er the Mountain like Jesus Christ Himself 🤣
In fairness, there have been a couple of natural disasters where Trump did just that. But yes, family is more important than politics, but unfortunately the majority of people who deny that think that CNN and MSNBC are telling them the truth.
@@freman007 "the one who is the least to be expected as the knife, is the one who brings joy and prosperity. A mask for strangers, an idol for children. It is your friend. You will not know when it takes your house, you will not know when your life will turn upside down, all you will see is what it wants you to see. Hope...blood will run, children will cry, innocence be scarred, people will die, it will kill...and nobody knows why, it is cunning, it is life, he who is the one who holds the knife"
I'm liberal and I don't talk to my hardcore Trump family anymore. They have the flags and everything. It has made my life so much more peaceful. Some of us just want the peace of not having to deal with those views being shared around us. I'll happily just have my own Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family. I might give them a text the day of. I'm a lot happier for this decision.

amen brother. They dont understand how deluded they look when they sit in trash bags, wearing shirts and hats and putting stickers on their cars and kids idolizing a man like hes jesus christ himself in the flesh. Very cartoonish, very deluded and very scary. Very very scary
Lmao, this made my day, if I voted against the right of my family members to be in any state and receive proper healthcare, take away their affordable healthcare, make it so that they can't afford more basic necessities etc., I wouldn't be surprised if I'd be left out of any family gathering or exiled from the family overall. I'll see you on r/Leopardsatemyface dude.
Bro one irrational family member should not be why you ignore millions of women's opinions. Literally millions bro and you just not listening because one person ignores you. Voting for Trump is materially going to hurt people. Wether you care or not is one thing, but people will get hurt and you can't expect people not to flinch when they see a punch coming. I'm bummed you have this POV
I’d like to think if you lived in Spain full time and didn’t have to pay taxes in the US, you would see things a different way 🤷🏽♂️ but meh. Different view from mine - you get a follow
So let me get this straight. You live in Spain and love it there and think life is better than the US. But you vote for the party that basically is the opposite of everything you like about Spain. What do you think the tax rate and gun laws are like in Spain? Yet you brag about how cheap health care is in Spain and how safe it is with no gun violence. Did you ever think that maybe those two things are correlated? In Europe you pay way higher taxes to support a wide safety net so that you barely pay anything for health care and other services. You don't have tons of mass shootings in Europe because they don't have the US gun culture and easy availability of weapons. Yet you don't seem to be able to put two and two together and understand that you're voting for the very things that you hate about the US and made you move to Spain in the first place. Unreal. There is no coherence in anything you are saying it seems you are just voting on vibes. And btw, those lower taxes Trump did in his first term blew up the national deficit higher than any modern president. He added $8 TRILLION to the debt. I laugh when people say Trump lowered my taxes. No. He deferred your taxes. He created debt that you and your children will have to pay back later plus interest. It like getting a payday loan. You get some quick money in your pocket today, but that shit has to be paid back later with more money then you actually borrowed. It would be one thing if the tax cuts were deficit-neutral and there were cuts in waste to offset them, but that's not what happened. And you voted for this.
It's insane to me that people are willing to cut or estrange family over something like this. I heard once, "We get a new president every four years. You'll need your family in 20 years." I'm sorry you had to do that, but you need to prune your tree to make yourself well.
"Needing your family in 20 years" isnt a forgone conclusion, ask any gay or trans person who is happily living their lives but had to cut out family who wont accept them.
@@andrewvasquez7872 Statistically speaking they won't be around to ask in 10 years let alone 20. So that doesn't exactly help your point. Maybe if they didn't ditch their family because they can't handle not being catered to they would have the support they needed.
Sadly this happens sometimes. My sister wouldn't talk to our dad, because he , a forester by trade, has a shotgun and he hunts . My sister is vegan. No calls, no talking for 10+ years.
damn so you want her crying back begging for forgiveness and to say shes wrong? the same shit you conservatives are spewing about democrats who are cutting yall lunatics off? Brother, shes accepted what shes done and is happy with it. your dad accepted her decision and is happy with it. Why arent you happy about it. Respecting the way two people feel about something and being cordial is the literal definition of the true american way. sounds like you want drama. something conservatives have mastered over the years
I'm sorry I don't want to be mean, but in a video you spain and europe has healthcare, transports, safety and so on. All of that PAID BY TAXES, then you want lower taxes in USA and Guns? I think you doesn't understand that is TAXES that pays for all of that and not having GUNS bring safety and trust to our community in Europe.
Has nothing to do with propaganda, people don’t get to decide what makes others upset. You don’t have to agree with someone to be understanding. Not that tough
his point was that we would be mad at the same things, if they were true and not propaganda. if she knew the truth, she wouldn't be angry, kind of like us.@Spazdawgnofx
Her anger isn't understandable at all. Being upset is one thing but you don't get to be an asshole because you are upset. She is mentally unstable so let's stop pretending that people like that are just upset. I was upset when someone close to me died butcir didn't turn me into a terrible person. She is a terrible person.
Mr. Boyd, I am so sorry she treated you this way. This is not a YOU problem; this is a HER problem, and she is terribly wrong and lacks awareness of her hypocrisy. She sounds like a narcissist who cares more about being right than her own family. Your loyalty is to YOUR family, and you must protect them from her. Thank you for sharing. So many people are going through the same thing, and it’s good to know we are not alone in this.
Yeah thats why I stopped posting on facebook 2 years ago and just went into hermit mode. You cant change people or make them see, they have to want to do it themselves. People dont even realize how much hate they are carrying for people they dont even know.
I mean I will not speak on your personal family members etc, but yeah, politics can do that, and it isn't necessarily silly. Politics is about interests. If they think that you or you think they fundamentally support social forces opposing their legitimate interests, fair is fair. And I mean, yeah. Your family member does seem a bit stupid, but you're not necessarily much above that. Voting for s candidate that basically ran on this political platform. And "the other side" is not necessarily in favour of the other big political party. It's mostly people that are much more left that vote the lesser of two evils (except in this time many refused to do this). So I mean, you reap what you sow. Maybe it's better for both of you.
I mean yeah. I dont understand why so many people are surprised about this. If you value the promise of "lower taxes" from a lifelong liar who looks out only for other billionaires, over the human rights of every woman in this country, some people aren't going to want to associate with you anymore. This is the camp you chose. Now own it and face the consequences. You're not entitled to be in people's lives when you stab them in the back like that.
LOL..its people like you that are the reason why Trump won. You won't see this disavowing family on the other side, so by you lefties doing it just proves what kind of people you are...
Exactly. Can’t vote against people you “love and care for” and then expect them to just move past that no questions asked. That being said Dems ran a TERRIBLE campaign, probably cause they’re just as shit on most policies.
You don't even have a clue as to what the political system of this country even is. All the reasoning for your beliefs are built upon fear, hatred, and lack of understanding

Inflation will go up with Trump, gun laws would not have changed for mental stable persons with Kamala as President. Hate against men or women or anybody is wrong. I talk about politics, but I never judge.
I had to cut ties with my own family this year as well. Sadly it was with one entire side of the family and not just one member, but it hurts and it's frustrating. At the same time it's a relief of stress and better for my mental health. I hope things go well for you and your family and it's time to start experimenting with recipes for your own Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday meals. I recommend trying a Orange Pumpkin Pie for thanksgiving rather than just a regular pumpkin pie, they're delicious.
Im gonna be real, I'm not heavy into politics and most of the time I would think this is dumb. However, you actively chose to vote someone in who is threatening the rights of all the women of our nation, so what, gas prices are a little cheaper? I just don't get it. This is probably one of the only times where I'll say, I agree with them. It's absolutely disgusting that people are throwing morals and rights out the window and being OKAY with telling people what they're doing. No disrespect to you personally, but I can't blame them.
Trumps not threatening the rights of nobody that’s just a talking point of the media. If u disagree with me that’s fine but please reference what rights he’s trying to take away from women. His family member has the right to cut him out but they were petty about it. And super disrespectful about it. Does this dude not have the right to voice his opinion? Just the same way his family can.
@@antonioleyva2159 you’re right, want me to elaborate? None of the presidents really have the final say, however trump is getting people who think along the same lines of him and agree with what I said into senate. The majority of senate is now on that side. Why is that a big deal? Because they make most of the decisions and changes, and we KNEW voting trump would have this outcome. Why is it a big deal? Because now that we have the orange action figure in office, we will be feeling his changes to the members of senate for DECADES. Our realistic only upside in this situation is knowing that a generation or two from now most of those people will pass, and we can get some people who actually give a shit slightly more about humanity in office. Saying “well trump isn’t gonna take away abortion rights but the people he puts in senate will, but I voted for trump” makes you even dumber than you were if you had just kept your mouth shut to begin with.
@antonioleyva2159 the thing about Trump supporters is that you people don't actually listen to the words coming out of his own mouth. He is coming for rights and he is coming for minority groups. You sold your friends and family our for cheaper eggs. The thing is that things will only get more expensive under Trump.
I'm left-leaning, and I would NEVER cut ties with family members over politics. I just listen to them, but I do not give my opinion because I'm not a good debater. I'm also autistic
This is how bad this got. Because they insisted on making this some kind of battle of morals, people behaved completely irrationally. I had to suffer election anxiety afterwards because I knew telling my friends and others close to me would cause them to look down at me, judge me and basically regard me entirely different, despite everything I'd ever done for them and the fact that they knew my character better than anyone else. I was being judged for my right to vote with honesty. I can't think of any better example of what's wrong with this country than that. This is what it's come to, what's happened to us. This is the division where we should have unity. Something has to get fixed, we'll never make otherwise. There's a chance a lot of things could be put in the right direction now.
@@colorsabsract7107 No-one can fix everything and that's what I'm asking for because it's unrealistic. Putting us in the right direction would be a great start though and a major population, in fact the majority of the population, agrees with that sentiment.

Sir, I completely agree with your words. Simply being, I may despise my neighbor and disagree with family members based on their political views; but I will get out and defend them and fight for them if there was an outside adversary attacking them. I got off facebook and instagram and in 2020 so I didn’t know what my family members were posting and didn’t want to wind up hating them because I didn’t agree with what they think! We’re all family and that’s way more important than social media!
Alot of people use social media as a means of venting their feelings, the good, the bad and the ugly. Obviously her past has influenced the choices she made. I had several friends that were quite a bit older and I noticed a change in how they acted and voiced their feelings in a much more harsh one sided way as they aged. I think it really has something to do with the aging process too. This election was extrememly polarizing and the fallout will continue for a long time . I already have a family member who has stopped talking to a friend of more than 17 yrs over the election.
This Thanksgiving will be interesting. I know that my husband and I are the only members of the extended family that voted for Donald Trump. We have been having Thanksgiving dinner together for over 45 years. We will not discuss politics or most social issues. And that's fine, we've got other stuff to talk about. But it's hard being the odd ones out. On those rare years where we could not get together for holiday meals, my husband and I have gone out, either Golden Corral or a Chinese buffet. Much love to you and your wife!

Its not about politics, its about morals

There are, sadly, a lot of bad people in the world.
You could say something completely neutral like "these eggs need more salt." and he would immediately launch in to "Did you see the time trump was eating with people and his salt shakers were so much bigger than everyone else at the table's?"
Sadly TDS is very, very real.
Had it been mitt Romney wed shake our head. Had it been McCain wed probably laugh and maybe even understand. Had it been W. damn that sucks. lost mine after the 2016 election. the media needs to cut it out with their divisive bullshit.
It's not just the media, it's the media and politics working together to form the division. Oh, and Hollywood which also works with the media and politics.
I agree but you can't really blame the media for your family having a low IQ and hearts filled with misery and hatred. That would be the case media or no.
its not the media. isnt it funny how right wingers called everyone divisive but trump was this great unifier. its like this bizarro world people live in. for all the bible thumping the right has they totally have made trump their savior. i will never bow to the beast. its time people actually understand what psalm 118:8 says
Lol anyone supporting Trump is automatically the most divisive people ever.
Fox news has been the largest media outlet for decades and most of the independent media are conservative. The mainstream media is conservative and it's not even close. 9 out of 10 of the top political streamers on election night were right wingers. Saying the mainstream media is left is absolutely brain dead.
lol the fact that I knew as soon as you said you lost family....as soon as I read this title, I knew who she voted for and what you were going to say.
It's true the upcoming president elect is an amazing view of extreme narcissistic behavior. XD

I think it’s Solipsism, not narcissism, which is technically worse.
@@foxanardthat person is right. Trump literally has narcissistic personality disorder and sociopathic tendencies.

Unfriend and/or block and move on. Why torture yourself?

I am sorry that you and your wife are having to deal with this. As one of your loyal viewers, I can say that I love your commentary and you are obviously a very intelligent man. You are doing the right thing to protect your family and your wife sounds like an amazing woman that supports her husband as spouses are supposed to do. I know it's not the same but you have an online family that supports you too.
It's easy... those who view politics as "just politics" are those who don't actually have enough empathy for others or don't have enough respect for themselves as someone who is greatly affected by those very "politics."
And those who view politics as what they are, "morals," (such as myself) are able to feel empathy for others, and maybe even themselves.

That's a you thing!"
Ok, maybe that's a bit harsh lol. You even adopted a latino special needs son to look important, but you treated him so poorly he left at 18 and never talked to you two again."
So strong Mr Boyd, we know your a good man with a good family!

Cope

It's always about politics! You'll understand this like "uhhh! My money is losing value! Republican time!" and "ouuugh! We really need some free meds in this country, public healthcare is ruined! Democrats time!" That's all that you can take out of politicians. Important laws to really keep people safe can be achieved in any government, and all other important changes comes from society and its people, not from politicians! Just make people care, don't seek for a politician savior, you'll just get disappointed, they're all wolves dressed as sheep.

He's not bright enough to see the inconsistency
It's insane to me that people are willing to cut or estrange family over something like this. I heard once, "We get a new president every four years. You'll need your family in 20 years." I'm sorry you had to do that, but you need to prune your tree to make yourself well.

damn so you want her crying back begging for forgiveness and to say shes wrong? the same shit you conservatives are spewing about democrats who are cutting yall lunatics off?
While I totally understand her anger, she was waaaaaaaaay out of line attacking your family like that. Gotta do what you gotta do
Understand her anger? Because of propaganda?
@@Spazdawgnofx My last comment was removed, but it has EVERYTHING to do with propaganda
People dont even realize how much hate they are carrying for people they dont even know.
being a hermit is better! love for family>>>>any politician/ideology
Quick give me the definition of a woman, and then list the rights Trump is taking away from women! ✍️
@AcidBass0224 Roe v wade. Use google.
Be real. You guys lost your contry. Ya sure canada has its problems. But jesus man
oh no how horrible! no one loses any rights, the border gets secure, and the economy will be better!

The problem with this election is that people didnt know what the were voting for. The number 1 google search after the election was "how do i change my vote?"
Yeah that means nothing
@@Joetaku666 oh its going to mean a lot when these tariffs kick in a everything 25% more expensive. People complaining about the cost of eggs now, not realizing they in for a world financial hurt voting for this guy. This war against woke is going to cost everyone a lot money.
Inflation will go up with Trump, gun laws would not have changed for mental stable persons with Kamala as President.
Hate against men or women or anybody is wrong. I talk about politics, but I never judge.
if you lost 1 family member its their fault, if you leave your entire family, its your fault
Thank you!!

What womens rights is trump threatening?
I'm left-leaning, and I would NEVER cut ties with family members over politics. I just listen to them, but I do not give my opinion because I'm not a good debater. I'm also autistic
Fr and there’s no reason to take it to seriously
You would never choose morals over blood? Weird flex but okay.
And you make a video about your family member and post it on internet to shame her? Seems to me you are not her family member.
propaganda runs these peoples lives everything is based on feeling and the last time i checked emotion is not a tool for cognition
I feel your pain. I lost my sister to COVID…and SHE IS STILL ALIVE AND WELL! 🙄
There's a chance a lot of things could be put in the right direction now.
your messiah orange man will fix everything like you cultists say. why cant he fix this? Go ask him! wait... lmfaoooooooooo
@@colorsabsract7107 No-one can fix everything and that's what I'm asking for because it's unrealistic. Putting us in the right direction would be a great start though and a major population, in fact the majority of the population, agrees with that sentiment.

She was wrong for contacting your wife, other than that she’s cooking, you indeed are a fool for supporting Trump as a non millionaire black man.
Sir, I completely agree with your words. Simply being, I may despise my neighbor and disagree with family members based on their political views; but I will get out and defend them and fight for them if there was an outside adversary attacking them. I'm an American, and so are they. I stand with them, even if I don't like or agree with them. We're countrymen in the end.
That’s toxic tribalism

I believe we’re getting more tariffs which will cancel taxes out. Food is going to be outrageous more than they are now.
You weren't disowned because of politics. You were disowned because you chose personal gains over morality and values.
Oh stop with that. He didn't disregard his morality and values. He voted according to his morality and values, same as anyone else. He picked the candidate that he thought would be better than the alternative, and was unfairly disowned because his family member couldn't accept the fact that they had different views on what the country needed most right now.

My problem with this election is that anyone who could support a convicted felon like what? What society do we live in here. US wants to be tough on crime and a convicted felon got elected?
He’s not a convicted felon. He was charged for misdemeanors on property paperwork. And it’s currently being thrown out.
@PewciSlayer That is fake news. Stop changing facts so your agenda/narrative works. You are purposefully denying reality here.
@PewciSlayer Furthermore, him snaking out of it is irrelevant because he is already a factual convicted felon. See you can't face reality, got to deny it or else your mind cannot compute.
I voted for Kamala Harris because I didn't like Trump's policies I thought they would be bad for America. We will soon see if they really are bad
I like you homie, but I can’t rock with you anymore because I don’t like people who lack character. Voting for a man to be our President who is so morally bankrupt because you want lower taxes and think the other candidate would negatively impact your gun collecting is very foolish. You Trump supporters are going to learn the hard way that character matters. I won’t be watching your videos anymore but I still wish you well. Peace ✌🏾
We have got to do something to turn back the level of politics that's gotten into every aspect of life where it's become "I'm a liberal, I hate country music." or "I'm a conservative, I don't need any of that soy latte coffee." For the love of God, just like the music you like, like your coffee the way you want to drink it and let's move on with things. Sadly I have an aunt who, while not as bad as your situation, has been going a bit insane since the election so I feel your pain. I'm just trying to appreciate that at least most of my family with differing opinions aren't that crazy. As always appreciate your reason and insights.
Big hugs to you and your wife ❤ sad. Fact is you are right it is petty. Sometimes you have to remove yourself from the negative and move forward even though it is painful. I fully relate!
This is not about you or politics. She uses these issues to wrap herself in an emotional security blanket. It’s a broken psychology.
