Appalachian Trail, Spence Field Shelter to Newfound Gap

We continue our Appalachian Trail hike in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park from Spence Field Shelter to Newfound Gap, where our car is waiting. After being wet for two days, it gets cold. We endured 29 degree lows, freezing rain, and high winds at elevations over 5500 feet. This was in May 2021.
