I was infatuated by trains when I was very young, watching these videos on the family laptop after school and all day on weekends. Hours of endless entertainment, thrill, amazement, excitement, and comfort. Thank you for these videos!
Thank you for replying. I tried to shoot a train, and it came out horribly. Now I appreciate your videos much more. It's not just the trains' speed, it is also their size and noise that makes this a challenge.
I remember back when this came out, I watched most likely this exact same video. I came home from school and I finished all of my school work, this was in 1st grade. I sat down to watch this video with the intent to watch more and as soon as this video was done, my mom said it was bedtime. I was so pissed at that moment, this was like quality entertainment for my 6 year old self, and still is. Just a childhood memory that comes to mind anytime I watch these train videos.
Matt, what can I say? I love your videos, fast trains and rail road systems, you made me watch your adventures with awe and fascination. Well done mate!
First time I watched this was back in 2016, had no idea that the video was already 4 years old. I loved this video. 8 years later and I'm still watching it fairly regularly

Very nice video. I think many of those square looking engines do have an uphill battle against wind resistance and it must have an effect on their operating cost. The Eurostar remains a winner when it comes to speed.
I remember my sister would do ballet on a Tuesday after school and I had to sit and watch her (I wasnt old enough to be home alone because I was about 5) but my mum would give me her phone and a pair of headphones and I would watch these videos the whole time 😂😂 I still enjoy them today!
A Pendolino tilting at high speed is always an awesome sight 16:38 , 18:27 , 19:03 And so is seeing the Super Voyager at full tilt 19:46 Thanks for the great video.
I like the bit where it goes past really fast and you can count the carraiges by the sounds it makes , I want to be a train driver by the time I stop growing up.
This video is SUPERB!! Absolutely terrific! Thank you for sharing this with us all. The only HST we have here in America is the Amtrak Acela which runs between Washington D.C. and Boston I believe. You have a great railway network in the UK. Bravo!
Mark 'BhigDaddyMark' Ferguson ah, I've heard about the acela express. Very good train. Because the UK is much smaller than America, you have quite a vast railway network. Also the railways in the UK covers the entire of the UK.
they brought the HST 125's to australia but sadly our track system does not live up to the trains performance. So they end up being more like HST 90's or less more often than not. Its nice to see them at their true potential
These are fantastic videos. The trains are beautiful, especially the diesel ones. There's only one problem, a CCD sensor would be far better to capture trains at speed. The CMOS rolling shutter is causing the object in motion to lean to one side. I'd love to see this same video captures with a CCD camcorder. But I understand, that these days everything is CMOS, unless you have budget for the highest end camera.
Very good video. I liked the inclusion of that special diesel it’s the I think Pullman carriages. I would much like to sit there and watch trains for hours but just don’t have the time or patience. Keep these good videos up!
Congratulations for the 3 of your videos, it must be something amazing to just stand there in the platform and watch the trains fly by next to you!! If I ever go to the UK, or any country with these high speed trains, I'll make sure to do the same experience you are showing on this videos. Trains are awesome!!!
Awesome video man nice to see those HST, class 90 and 390 and voyager running around in real life.. Good thing i have most of them in railworks , i can always take those beauty's for some nice runs around virtual UK rail.
An excellent compilation! The Chiltern Line now has a number of fast trains if you are looking for ideas to include in the Trains at Speed 4, with 100mph running over large sections of the line.
This is awesome :) In Sydney Australia we have XPT's which are based off the BR HST Design. There are lots of video's about them on my channel. Keep up the great video's mate :)
I used a tripod for just about every video in this compilation. But I have to walk around the tripod in order to follow the trains as they pass by, so when I step, it vibrates. There's nothing I can do about that I'm afraid.

Yeah, we did invent the railway after all! ;) Not just that.. It is very practical for quite a small country, the trains can fly from one end to the other in a matter of hours.
Nice bit of train video here. Shows a variety of systems around the country and a nice lot of the countryside. Good sound and video quality, although I feel can also be enhanced in ultra HD w/ zoom travel and funnel direction sound. Enjoyed it thank you.
