I don't know why this movie is so underrated.. For my opinion it's just a masterpiece.. Performing a full story of laila majnu in just 19minutes is not a piece of a cake.. And the acting skill, i have nothing to say about the acting skill of every single actors.. Everyone is best in their place..
Totally agreed. The picturization, costume and the dialogues in between the songs was just a great piece of art. Whenever someone mention laila manju i have this act playing at the back of my mind
Every single actor in this performance, in this movie deserves high regard for their role in this movie. It was pure genius, so theatrical. Every actor deserved an Emmy, this movie deserved an Oscar for it's cinematical approach to one of the most named love story to ever exist in history. Madhuri did a fantastic job at representing the voice of the reader, from the beginning she felt otherworldly but a inherent part of the story. To be able to show a Epic in just 19 minutes is crazy in itself and to do such a good job at it? INSANE. Such a pity the audience didn't appreciate this masterpiece, would have to loved to see it reach heights.
It's mind-blowing how people nowadays don't care about quality and talent. Aaja Nachle was and is ART and those songs like O Re Piya, chef kiss. One of my favorite movies since childhood. Thanks Madhuri, a true performer.
Aaja Nachle was definitely an underrated movie. Moreover, this stage play, which was actually the heart of the movie, never got the audience it actually deserved. This stage performance is actually a gem of it's own kind. Divya Dutta, Madhuri Dixit, Konkana Seen Sharma, Kunal Kapoor, Eanvir Shorey, Jugal Hansraj, Vinay Pathak, Raghubir Yadav, Yashpal Sharma, and many others, all in one song. What more an actual Bollywood lover want. You will get all sorts of feelings while listening to this, viz: fear, goosebumps, love, innocence, everything. I still listen to this song (it's 2018 now) and everytime I still feel as if I am listening to it for the first time. And yeah, I don't understand who are those people who disliked this video. May God bless them. Proud and happy to be born in the 90's era where this kind of music was present and popular.
Nikhil Garg.. Ur comment is absolutely true!! It's a masterpiece.. Every feeling we experience in this is justified by the acting of these amazing artists.. Not just the actors, the singers, the background score, the direction.. such magnificence!!
India should be putting these kind of shows as Broadway shows. It will be super amazing!!! Loved the costumes, expressions, lighting and choreography. Everything is bang on. Kudos to the whole team..
This movie actually highlighted the actual musical genre of Indian cinema which the audience failed to capture it's essence that time. This 19 minutes of Marvelous performance alone itself deserves to receive an award for the way this timeless story of Laila-Majnu had been portrayed so wonderfully here. The songs are perfection here
That's right, every director and screenwriter can succeed by making a world-famous work. "Leyli and Majnun" are still successful in the symphonic mugham style in our theater performances.
This stage play is one of the best creations in Bollywood ever. The team and their excellent team-work (both on-screen and off-screen) are amazing. This is the best masterpiece in play format, Bollywood had ever. The concept, the lyrics, the artists, the presentation everything is more than perfect. This segment of 19 minutes is 1000 times better than many full movies of Bollywood. Madhuri Dixit on Dance/ Nawazuddin, Vinay Pathak, Raghuveer Yadav, Ranveer Shorey, Divya Dutta, Yashpal Sharma on act, Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal on playback voice, Salim-Sulaiman on Music what a combination, what a performance. The movie is also worth watching.
The audience needs to be reminded of our true culture and art. Precisely why such movies should be made. Something good was again achieved with the song ghar more pardesiya. That classical perfoirmance depicting the story of Ramayana with cirque du soleil like performance completely Indianised and done better along with the classical dance. These pieces should always be made. With exposure eventually people will grow brain cells.
As a dancer myself, I have been so drawn to this movie since forever. My friends and family did not even see this movie and decided that it isn't worth a watch. Definitely under rated, it's in my top flix Playlist. Just. Pure. Genius.

Just due to some controversies this movie did so bad at the box-office but it really deserved much more appreciation! This is such a beautiful piece of art. These days the movies are all about cheap item-songs with trash storyline while this movie was a gem!

My dear friend introduced me to this amazing and beautiful movie 12 years ago when I was 17 in high school. And I still watch this movie religiously and listen to the songs. Im Mexican and I always blast the songs in my house while cleaning and my car dude…I sing along to them even though I’m not sure I’m even saying the words right , sounds okay to me haha. I don't know why this movie didn't do better! It was the best comeback Madhuri could ask for! The Casting director should have been awarded with the whatever award they have best in that category! Konkona was dreamy in this song! I mean everyone knows she's a great actor but this movie, oohhh she's a dream!
I think the people who appreciate this movie the most are people who are now in their 20’s/30’s because we were kids and we all wanted a role in this stage preference like I used to be in my room acting out each individual role like I was the boss 😂🥰
The story of majnoun laila ( قيص و ليلى) is an Arabic love story between Qays ibn Moullawwah and layla al-Amiriyya, but I really like it in the Indian version, it’s really creative ❤️ love this movie ❤️❤️
This part is so beautifully edited and well made and im glad they adapted a theatrical play of a beautiful literary piece that is the source of inspiration of Romeo and Julliet
Every word of Madhuri maam is so hearttouching , definitely I would say a masterpiece, the way of representation is also unique, they way they reffer the story of laalia majnu is so pure, I would hats off the screen writer, dialogue writer, the speed of the lines , literally give me a goosebumps. I just love it 🖤🖤
As an arab and I used to adore indian movies and drama I love this film because of the 19min masterpiece and I remember all the lines by heart from that time till now .. We miss this kind of quality films really
i love how this song is close to 20 mins long and i remember every tune change, every word and every scene since I first saw it on the plane on my first trip to India from the US close to 12 years ago.
I dnt know why bengalis are always neglected by the mass...acrdng to me konkona gave the best prformance in this movie...she is one of the best actress of our country and most underrated one...
Are you serious? How is it about being Bengali? Rani, Kajol, Radhika Apte none of them are underrated. If an actress is underrated doesn't mean its a regional bias. Why do people make such random connections?

I love Urdu language so much. It makes everything so beautiful and hundred times more emotional. I got goosebumps watching this masterpiece. I have never been prouder of my mother language.
@Indra Sena honestly I didn't hear many hindi words. Like the words used were like heavy urdu the rich urdu I would say. Tho then idk hindi so it might be there
@Indra Sena "so called urdu" bruh if you've done your research you would know hindi actually is a mixture of different languages lmao. So obviously there are Sanskrit driven words same with Arabic and Persian lol
In Bollywood they use language like it so that both hindi and Urdu speakers can understand it.Bro Hindi and Urdu are the standard dialects of one language Hindustani. (Hindustan means land of the indus river). Hindi and Urdu were once considered one language so you can't fight over it .
The whole movie is on one side and this song is other. Masterpiece , kudos to all artists, singers and special thanks to Saleem Suleiman ,music director. and the one and only Madhuri , her charishma, her expressions ,her presence uff, true artist

I remember when this movie flopped..but i watched it everytime it aired on tv..and loved this sequence(pathar se na mare and the ishq ishq was my favourite song here) .Yashraj movies have always given us gems with real talent..but ppl don't realise thier power
This was broadway level performance. The movie was unique and deserved a bigger and better audience.
The way Madhuri represented this song was fantastic
Shocked to see so many people saying this film wasn't well received! I just saw it recently, and thought it's just because I tend to not watch movies, because this is AMAZING! I fell in love with it so quickly! I'm so sad to hear more people don't appreciate it...
At 1:54 that look....😞 Irfan Sir. May Allah bless him and grant the best place in Jannah
Wow, the voices of Sunidhi Chauhan (Maduri), Shreya Ghoshal (Konkona), Kunal Kapoor (Sonu Nigam) and all other singers.
Shankar Mahadevan for Ranvir Shorey.
Sukhvinder Singh for Vinay Pathak
Richa Sharma for Divya Dutta
Someone stop me from watching this, please!! Ive watched it countless times. Its just mindblowing 🤯🤯 And take a moment to appreciate that chiseled face of kunal kapoor 😻

I still dont understand why aaja nachle was a "flop" ! This was such an essence of music, dance and joy ! Along with all emotions and of course this epic portrayed in the best way possible !!
it was too early to the game
actually it deserved to be hit but some bad ratings and controversies has destroyed this film
bcz its shows the rong concept of love
People don't have taste it was a gem of movie
Have watched this lika a million times but I still get goosebumps through out the play... tears rolling up my face at the end. This play is one of the hidden gems in our times... each and every person contributing to this video is has but an incredible effort! ❤️❤️❤️❣️
Bagalisong
Just due to some controversies this movie did so bad at the box-office but it really deserved much more appreciation! This is such a beautiful piece of art. These days the movies are all about cheap item-songs with trash storyline while this movie was a gem!

Only Madhuri could have done Justice to this masterpiece..I repeat..no other actress from any era..only Madhuri.

If you wanna fall in love just like that I'm ready 💓💓💓

my girl Shreya Ghoshal 💘💘
Yes! She is an angel! Her voice is heavenly! 💗😍
This movie will always and forever be in my life and heart .
omg this is such a cute comment God bless your friendship!
I'm mexican too and actually Aaja Nachle was my first Madhuri Dixit's
She is my favorite in all Bollywood.

Ye movie flop kaise ho gai samajh nahi aata every part of dis movie is wowwwwwww and dis last part is incredible mere liye dis movie is supar doopar hitt
In a same way Swadesh get flop. These type of movies are very underrated despite of a great content.
Because they wasted actors like irfan khan and akshay khanna by giving them such small roles
Same like dil se.. Jab aisi movies theater me lagti he tab hum nahi jate... ... Of fir kehte he itni achhi movie kese flop ho gai.. We should encourage this types of movies by watching it many times in theater..
preetika sharma agree with you but aap khud hi dekh lo. Aamir ek achi khasi hit movie thi or us k sath sawerya release hoi thi jo big flop thi.

issi taarh fever & table no 21 after than parnaam was superb movie with new content & good acting.
The movie definitely had wonderful music.....but the plot line was quite weak...maybe dats why it flopped
Their costumes damn it. They are so beautiful. Every actor has genuinely enjoyed this
This movie is perfect. Shows full Indian culture , it's lovely.
Songs are melodious
No highest paid so called actor's
No vulgarity
Love for the movie 🌺🌼🌸🤩
I don't know why this movie didn't do better!
It was the best comeback Madhuri could ask for!
The Casting director should have been awarded with the whatever award they have best in that category!
Konkona was dreamy in this song! I mean everyone knows she's a great actor but this movie, oohhh she's a dream!
‘Par lash lagengi do do bhai Zara soch lena’ and ‘mein bivi hoon teri aur apni majnu ki mein Laila hoon’ best lines

I think the people who appreciate this movie the most are people who are now in their 20’s/30’s because we were kids and we all wanted a role in this stage preference like I used to be in my room acting out each individual role like I was the boss 😂🥰
Yes was one of my favourite films and he still

So underrated - this is gorgeous. Entire tale in less than 20 mins, in rhyming couplets no less.
Madhuri Dixit...her moves her expression and her smile...so awesome
The story of majnoun laila ( قيص و ليلى) is an Arabic love story between Qays ibn Moullawwah and layla al-Amiriyya, but I really like it in the Indian version, it’s really creative ❤️ love this movie ❤️❤️

These 19 minutes will make you Haapy, sad, excited, passionate, devoted, fearless, compassionate, sympathetic and satisfied at the end.
Madhuri is flawless ..equally other artists also done justice.. Amazing song dance n storyline..
This part is so beautifully edited and well made and im glad they adapted a theatrical play of a beautiful literary piece that is the source of inspiration of Romeo and Julliet
Laila/Qais is an Arabic folktale.

This movie is seriously underrated, especially this play is the best of all times,
Madhuri. Madhuri. Madhuri. And this whole segment, is absolutely ingenious!
And definitely props to the casting. The two leads were really good!
I get goosebumps whenever I watch it...it's just awesome ... no comparison with today's movies. What a stage performance.
True
Agreed
@Riya gupta Kajol and Rani are not underrated.
Eta ekdom sotti
Are you serious? How is it about being Bengali? Rani, Kajol, Radhika Apte none of them are underrated. If an actress is underrated doesn't mean its a regional bias. Why do people make such random connections?
This track is such an embodiment of theater art...stage artists, minor roles, live stage embellishments, every role is iconic and complete... soOo in love with this song

"aane wale kal me ye sansar dra chilayega , jab kabr hmari phul chadane , khuda zamin pe aaega , jab khuda jamin pe aayega" ....that goosebumps i got... O_O
